I’ve been having trouble when tying an improved clinch knot to a split ring. When tightening the knot keeps slipping out. Doesn’t happen when I tie to a hook or jighead. Maybe because the split ring is thicker? I’m using 5 wraps

How often do you retie braid? I have a few rods I rigged up about two months and haven’t fished them since I retied. Should I retie? Does A knot actually weaken from sitting and not being fished?

The one problem I’ve had with my rig is when I’m fishing a pit boss with an EWG hook and 3/8-1/2oz weight the weight constantly slides to the side even if I peg it right up against the bait, the weight causes the knot to slide to one side so the weight lays not straight against the bait if you understand what I’m saying

How much more distance do you actually get with a full spool versus 1/8-1/4” gap from the lip?

When you guys peg a weight with a bobber stopper for pitching, flipping and punching do you put the stopper directly up against the weight or leave it a 1/4” or so away from the top of the weight so the weight can move back and forth a little ?

Is there anyway to prevent this? No matter how good I cut the tag end after. A few casts it seems to fray. It’s 50lb power pro on my frog rod. Does the frayed tag end have any negative impact on the knot?

Why shouldn’t I just snug down the Overhand knot slightly before putting the loop through the lure? I find when the overhand knot is loose it’s more of a pain to cinch everything down

So you pull the mainline first then pull the tag to finish it?

What’s the best way to keep and clean dust off reels? Reels and rods and kept in the man cave on a rack but if I don’t use them for 4-5 days there’s some dust on the reels. Will this hurt the reels?

I have 50lb braid on my Daiwa fuego I use for frog fishing. Every time I hook a fish or a fish pulls drag the line digs in. Is there any way to prevent this? This also happens on my topwater rod with 30lb braid but not as bad. Is this normal from just retrieving slack line in between pops of the frog and topwater? Ive read that this is normal and it happens but it’s becoming annoying. I’ve spooled the line tight and properly the first time.

I’ve read casting difference actually suffers quite a bit with 15 vs 10. I’m always skeptical on how accurate like diameter ratings are

Any real noticeable difference? Deciding between 10 or 15 lb power pro mainly for senkos and ned rigs on a 2500 spinning reel.

How does this rod perform with 1/8-1/4oz Texas rigs with plastics? Dobyns doesn’t list Texas rigs as a technique on this rod, not that that means anything but I’m wondering how this rod performs with the weight range listed above.
