  1. Which is why new mono lines that are not level wound will have bumpy/lumpy feel to it... There's nothing wrong with them and you're just scaring the OP haha. Also, I'm pretty sure BPS/Cabela's have a final sale on all fishing lines, at least the ones local to me do, so OP probably didn't buy a return either.
  2. It's 100% normal. The bumpiness is due to line crossing over each other and compressing in uneven areas due to not being level wound on the spool from the factory. It won't affect performance or result in loss of quality.
  3. Yeah.. I was going to say, I don't think I've lost fish due to the weedguard either. I know when I've missed bites and the weedguard didn't release, it is because the fish never had the hook in its mouth to begin with and was only biting on the ends of the worm looking at the bite marks. These hooks are sticky sharp, strog, and has a good hookup ratio (for me anyways.. maybe because for these hooks I "set the hook" lightly ?). Works well for me so I'll keep using them.
  4. Not the exact model but this one is probably more or less the same as yours: https://www.duckettfishing.com/products/rods/white-ice-ii/white-ice-ii-crankin/m.products/229/view/195 Looks like a deep water crankbait rod for things like 6, 8, 10XD ?
  5. I love these hooks. #1 size works best for me. I use it for wacky rigged senkos (5") and as a drop shot hook when there's vegetation.
  6. Perfect! 6'9" for jigs & texas rigs and 7'0" for spinnerbaits & chatterbaits ? Grats on the new rods!
  7. Are you tying palomar knot?
  8. NRX 893C. This rod is practically made for fishing senkos
  9. Grats on the reel purchase! And for your usage, I'm sure you'll have zero issues with the PQ2. It's a good reel especially for the current sale price! Should be the exact same reel minus the colors. This is on the Canadian BPS flyer "SAME GREAT PRO QUALIFIER REEL!"
  10. Your definition of heavy cover probably isn't my version of heavy cover if you can also throw whopper ploppers. My kind of stuff is at the very least punching 1oz tungsten just to touch the water
  11. Gonna be realistic here. I have the PQ2 and while it's a nice reel overall, it will NOT be able to handle heavy cover punching, frogging. I broke mine and gears are all F'd. 100% preventable if you don't use it for that purpose as it's a good quality reel for the price but it will not hold up in the really heavy cover stuff.
  12. Medium for me as well and it would probably cast a little further than on a MH
  13. I would get SLX to contrast with your Fuego
  14. Steez A (or the new morethan) might balance better than Steez SV for the above rods you mentioned
  15. Latest purchase FMJ & Steez A
  16. Tatula SV can do just about everything well from throwing lighter lures to pitching heavy cover trouble-free and accurately. But, it's a bit bulky and over-braked for distance. Curado DC if you're seeking distance and better palming reel. Tatula SV for everything else..
  17. All those different lures, lines, terminal tackles, etc... If I could start over again, I would've put the money towards 2 or 3 really nice combos instead...
  18. It's a newer line, I would go with Sufix Advance. Strong and very sensitive
  19. I have the previous gen carbonlite 6'9" MH/XF and it's very specific to texas & jig and does it well but if you must also throw chatterbait and spinnerbait, the action is too fast. 7' is probably better choice if you want to throw chatterbait and spinnerbaits as well.
  20. Definitely get the Tatula 100. The 150 & 200 are a lot bulkier and unnecessary for your needs.
  21. I just got my dream rod & reel combo a few days ago and the bass season doesn't even open until June up here... How am I supposed to survive for 4 more months...
  22. For straight mono I like Sufix Advance. I did that last season on Avid X 6'9" ML/XF DS'ing and probably will do it again this season.
  23. Oops misread. Yea he can just splice and fill up the rest of the spool
  24. Sucks but it happens. Just re-spool the whole thing. Picking out a birdsnest that bad, you could have kinked/damaged whatever's left on the spool.
