  1. Yes that (spool options) was the only caveat. But that is why I have so many SV103s...? Of that platform currently I have: 2 NIB Ito 103s 1 NIB TD-Z Type R 1 TD-Z Type R+ 1 TD-Z/Ito Custom Hybrid 105H 2 TD-Z 105H 1 LNIB Fuego 100H 1 Zillion 103SHA 1 LNIB Zillion 50th Anniversary 100SHA 1 LNIB Megabass IP68 1 LNIB Megabass IP79 1 LNIB J-Dream 7.9 5 SV103H 5 SV103XS 1 TD-X Air Metal 103H 1 TD-X Air Metal 105H I think that's it. ?
  2. Probably the best platform Daiwa has ever created. They were made in Japan, brass gears, tons of modifying parts, and tough/durable/smooth.
  3. Any comparisons of both? Looking at the jig models. Already own a 73MH Zillion but wonder how the Levante compares? Thanks!
  4. I have a few older Loomis rods that have not seen time in quite a while. When looking at one of the GLX rods that is essentially brand new with the older Wiebe reel seat, I noticed that one of the guides doesn't look to be SiC. Never noticed this before and the rod was purchased brand new. There is not indication that it was ever a demo, etc. and the wraps/epoxy are all factory. It is essentially brand new circa 1999-2001. Could Loomis have made this error in production or was/is it supposed to be like that? It looks like the guide insert is Hardloy or maybe Alconite but the frame color is also slightly different. It is the second guide up from the bottom of the rod. Weird. Thanks for any/all help and best wishes on the water!
  5. Good to know! What's the tail mark to look for? Thanks!
  6. Brown Bullhead. Yellow would have a rounded tail and black would not be as mottled on the side with a more yellowish belly. I don't think Black Bullhead are indigenous to the NYC area.
  7. I think you're going to like it. Daiwa's "fast" action isn't always fast...some are more MF. This could be the case with this one. I don't have mine yet but since they offer it in XF models, I assume the fast aren't pool cues.
  8. The 7'3" is a fast action (though not XF by any means). The regular action listed may be incorrect on American Legacy Fishing but according to Daiwa's website, the 7'3" MH is a fast action. When I spoke to someone on the phone at American Legacy, he told me that the 7'3" was by far the most popular model being sold. He did also mention that the Zillion rods are slightly softer actions compared to the Tatula Elite rods in comparable models.
  9. I have a 7'3" MH on order too!
  10. Where did you find that info? Do you know when they came out and what they retailed for? Are they in an old BPS or Cabela's catalog?
  11. I will try to get pictures. The box says 11 ball bearings and all the features above. Weight is 8.6oz. so not sure about being magnesium. What was the retail price of these reels? The reel is very similar to the bottom pictures of Rippin-lips but the handle knob has three grooves in it (like the old TD-X reels) versus the traditional "I" knob.
  12. I just picked up an absolutely beautiful Team Daiwa TD-Z 2000CU spinning reel and am looking for more information on it. The reel retrieves like butter. When did they come out, what was the retail, etc. and what are they worth today? The reel is almost mint (a few tiny, tiny marks but I am very OCD) and comes with box, paperwork, felt reel bag, plastic reel bag, extra spool, and extra spool plastic bag. Thanks for any/all help and best wishes on the water!
  13. Daiwa Tatula rods...the original ones. Unbelievable rods for the money.
  14. Very nice! Where did you get the red star drag and cast control cap for the Tat SV?
  15. I got a Diablo Spec-R that is still in the tube brand new in my house from the last sale. I am keeping it like that for now since I have so many other rods in my lineup. I will do the same with one of these Spinnerbait Specials. I plan on using one and having another on hand. I have heard stellar reviews of both the Spec-R and the Spinnerbait rods.
  16. Thanks! Just ordered two Spinnerbait Specials. I have wanted that rod for a while so hopefully they are nice.
  17. I ordered a 7'7" Medium Regular taper last night (non glass) because it has the 13 3/4" handle (same as my 7' MRB). I got it on a good deal that I just had to try it. I can always return it locally too if it doesn't fit my needs which is great so shipping to me is free and there is no return cost. I may put a JDM CVZ 203 on it to balance it out but have other reels to try out as well. Any idea how it would do with 4.8 size paddle tail swimbaits? Thanks.
  18. I picked up two at Ollie's last night (180s) for $7.99 a piece in ghost rainbow trout. Along with a number of other LC baits there randomly on an end cap display all for $7.99.
  19. I have one of them with the original Wiebe reel seat! A beautiful rod. Classic G. Loomis and for a while it was paired with a Shimano Chronarch SF.
  20. BPS Excel is pretty decent for the price. I have used Trilene XL for as long as I have been fishing (30+ years).
  21. Where did you get the TD-Z?
  22. I know the price is about $30-40 different but have heard great things about both rods. Was looking at the 73MH Feugo vs. the 734C Fury. Sensitivity and versatility are my concerns for a budget price point. Anyone have both and can compare? I could have the Fuego for $44 shipped brand new. Thanks!
  23. Cabela's in PA had a bin of Lucky Crafts as well priced at $5.99. Mostly smaller Bevy Shads in JDM colors.
  24. Cabela’s find courtesy of the help from another member on here. Bargain cave item and looks barely used. A classic workhorse reel.
