  1. So let's say South/Mid Atlantic...exclude florida and north east. So northern georgia, sc nc, tn...) where and when would you go?
  2. Ok looks like most prefer spawn/post spawn if you had a choice of anytime. Any other thoughts? prespawn vs post spawn?
  3. So I can't find a left elite p/f 8:1 anywhere...believe me I have looked everywhere I can think of. But I did find a 7:1...think that will be good enough or should I hold out for the 8:1? Another words, is the 8:1 important enough to find another reel if I can't find the elite...or is the reel good enough to just stay with the 7:1? thanks
  4. Thanks Tom. I looked up reviews of this reel and I saw nothing but good things. So picked one up on tw with their 20% off! Looking forward to giving it a try. I have no doubt the steez or antares would have been awesome, but just didn’t want to spend that much. Loved the Aldebaran as well but I think it might have been too light for my rod and made it a little too heavy. Some great options out there! Thank you for all the advice!
  5. Pretty nice setups! Got a favorite reel or any insight into them? Thanks
  6. Can we ask stores from now on to just list what brands do qualify for the sale? .…I think the list would be a lot shorter lol
  7. This is what I’m kind of thinking. I just don’t know what qualities you are really looking for in a bottom contact reel other than quality build. I assume lightweight to balance well but what else is everyone looking for? I don’t mind putting more money into a reel I’ll be skipping with or one where I need a lot of control….but fishing offshore dragging a jig or worm…what criteria do you look for? Thanks
  8. Just curious what reel do you pair up with a high end, light bottom contact rod? I know you could use pretty much any reel but wanted to hear what you choose and why. Doesn’t have to be just nrx; could be megabass p5, steez or conquest. Thanks!
  9. Ok so if focusing on lmb, would you pick to go prespawn or postspawn if you had just one trip a year?
  10. Yeh I forgot to mention that lol. Bass…mainly lmb but any kind of bass if you want. Just where would you pick if you had 4 days to just fish. Maybe TVA lakes, Kentucky lake, ozarks…and prespawn, postspawn, fall… Want to hear specifics
  11. Thinking about taking my guys fishing trip next year. Just curious where you would go in the country, and what time of the year would you go? Thought it would be interesting to hear everyone’s thoughts!
  12. Yeh from what I hear it's not really that close of a comparison...the legend glass rods have really high sensitivity and great reviews...but who knows. Thanks though for your thoughts and glad to hear you like yours!
  13. Anyone else use an elite or knows much about them? Currently I use my expride 6’6m as a squarebill rod…maybe I should switch that to my swimjig/light moving bait and get the legend glass for squarebill. I have heard good things about the glass at croix rods. Thoughts?
  14. Thinking I might go with the legend elite 7' MH...anyone have this rod? Thinking it might be a good for general use but mainly swim jig. What do you think? Or would you go with the 7M or another line of sc (legend x..)? thanks
  15. Yeh that's what I'm replacing...wanted to hear from the legend x, extreme crowd to see if it's worth upgrading to the better blank... Compared with my glx, megabass, and exprides...I definitely can tell the avid line isn't on the same level. So was wondering if the upper tier st croix rods are better. Thanks
  16. Oh cool thanks! Yeh I would love to hear from the x, extreme and elite guys...anyone have/tried the 6'10-7' M/MH? What do you use it for and how do you like it? Thanks
  17. Hey, I broke one of my avid x rods and am going to send it in. It was one of my first rods so I’m thinking of upgrading it. It’s a 7’ medium and I use it for squarebills, underspin, and other light baits like maybe a swim jig. Anyone recommend a the best st croix rod that would fill this niche? I have heard good things about the glass rods, but I have also heard good things about the various legend lines. I guess I’m just looking for the best st croix multi-use light bait rod. Thoughts?
  18. That's awesome! Yeh I'm pretty sold on the rod...just need to figure out what length. Anyone use the 6'10? If so, what do you think of it? Thanks
  19. Has anyone fished the 6'10M, 6'10MH and 7'2"M st croix legend glass? I like shorter rods for close range but 7'2 might be a little more versatile. Would primarily use it for squarebills. But maybe some swim jig and light chatterbait. Thoughts?
  20. Love it when they say "site-wide" then you find out it doesn't include any reels...and pretty much any major brand...
