With the price of fancy electronics these days, I think I'd rather learn to catch them without spending 1k on a fish finder with side scan.

Where can I find old/vintage videos of bass fishing? Like 1970-1999. I want to learn how to improve my fishing from watching videos before all the fancy electronics. The videos on YouTube are very scarce. Maybe like some old episodes of Bill Dance Outdoors, Jimmy Houston Outdoors, etc.

Where can I find fishing gear cheap enough to resell? I seen a guy on eBay selling brand new 13 fishing fate black rods for $70 which is $30 under retail. Where are they finding this stuff? Forgive me if this is the wrong forum.

I mean promotion does increase sales especially if an angler wins a major tournament, but does it double the companies money?

In exchange for free products the angler uses and promotes that brand, but I don't see how companies would make their money back and then some just from the angler promoting it. How are companies making their money back from sponsorship?

I would go with a Medium Heavy Fast Action rod and a 6:3:1 or 7:1:1 gear ratio reel. I prefer to use Lews reels and favorite rods.

I'm not sure, maybe Daiwa helped manufacture it? I'm curious about it myself. Either way, it looks like a good reel.

Hey, I haven't used this particular Lew's combo, but I own two Lews spinning reels and a couple rods and they work like a dream. Depending on what you want to use the combo for, I would recommend 40-60lb braid for topwater (I prefer Spiderwire Stealth Braid), but if for something like texas rigs, wacky rigs, shakey head, etc. I would recommend using 12-pound mono (I prefer Suffix Superior). Hi, I personally like to use the Blakemore Casey's Classic Runner in pearl color. It's $8 for a pack of two. I like to pair it with Strike King Rage Swimmer 3.75 in the pearl flash color. Hope this helps!

Although I don't use Ozark Trail much, I have caught fish on the lipless crankbait. Pretty good quality lures with decently sharp hooks.

Quick question for those who own the Daiwa Laguna HS100 baitcaster. Is it suppose to kinda noisey? Just bought it used cheap recently. have oiled the reel up but it still has noise to it. Also i tried throwing a shallow crankbait with it but it was pretty hard to reel in, however it reels and spins fine out of water. I don't know much about repairing reels so any help would be appreciated. Just messing around with it, If I tighten the spool tensioner all the way it makes it pretty hard to reel

I'm not sure that using flouro has caught me more fish but switching to flouro can be better when fished in pressured lakes or clear water as flouro is less visibile compared to mono or braid. Flouro also has less stretch than mono, but that's for another topic.

I fish from a boat, but I fish shallow because pros like Greg hackney only fish shallow without a problem. Im just not a fan of finesse fishing, but I'll eventually practice it because I fish a lot of hs tournaments and I just don't think fishing shallow in winter is cutting the mustard.
