Best pitching outfit
Hi Michbass, thanks for the response. I was using a brand new calcutta TE 200GT and could not get that reel to behave well with 15 lb yo-zuri. Behaving is not overrunning. I have lots of other baitcasters that I can dial in for all kinds of fishing. The day I was using it, I had 3/8 oz jig with a small craw trailer. It was not overly light but no matter the settings, i could not get it to stop overrunning. And given I had all of the brakes on, even with the spool loosened, I couldn't get a decent pitch. But I think I've figured out my issue, I think it was the line. I put a 10lb trilene max on it and practiced some casts and pitches around the house with a 3/8 weight on it and it casts fine without overruns. So I guess the yo-zuri 15lb is a bit too stiff for the small diameter spool for casting... surprising, but seems to be the case based on my experiments. I'll try again with this setup and the lighter line. If this doesn't do the trick for me, I'll try a spinning setup. Michbass, does this stand for 'Michigan Bass Angler'? I'm originally from Michigan and have fished for Walleye with my grandfather on Lake St. Clair. One of these days I've got to get back to St. Clair to try some bass fishing. I will trade you a trip on St.Clair for one on Champlain I also normally keep my brakes off and tension very low and use my thumb. Are the backlaches happing in the air or when it hits? Just curious?

Tip of the day - DIY rod protector
Nice tip. I havent had any real scratches in my avids that have caused much concern yet. Have to put some tape to help keep it that way.

Best pitching outfit
I am sure you do but do you have the spool tension knob backed out? If you pitching a jig or other heavy lure it should fly off. Lighter worms might be an issue depending on the baitcaster. I use to use spinning to pitch but like a baitcaster so much better, it is a more fluid motion.

Searching for scholarships.
Talk with a counselor or aid advisor at the University; they have a vast amount of options open to you. That is there job and mine did pretty much all the work for me. There is also state aid but if your parents make over a certain amount that is out. Student loans of course is an option also which you can defer payments until after school. Unless you can get a full ride, you always are going to need loans or aid but it is worth it if you finish.

Do I have the right to be mad?
You have to address people when they do things like that to you. Don't bottle it up or just let it go. Tell them how you feel, not in a confertational way. They might not know any better seeing how some people are raised these days. I personally think you should make it between them and you and leave the teacher out if it. Life is to short to be getting pushed around and having to fester over what you should do. Best of luck.

BPS soft tackle bags
Have that bag and the Stalker, but not the wheeled one. I like them both but use the stalker if I am going on other peoples boats. For its size it holds a ton and you can always find somewhere out of the way to place it.The other bag is just to big for me to take as a co angler.I found out though even with the rain top on stuff inside still gets wet but not to bad. The stalker is on sale now too.

All Fishing Equipment Stolen
Sorry about your loss. I can't imagine how much that must stink. It is always a good idea to have pictures of your tackle and any receipts for insurance processing.

Gambler boats?
They ride fast ;D Just rode in one for a tournament on lake st.clair. It was a rough ride, more so than any champ or ranger I have been in. I love the front deck you can land a plane on it, the back deck was tight. Not to talk bad but I dont think there design lends itself to bodies of water like the Great lakes due to being such a light boat. It was a 10year old boat though and others ones might be different. They have the best lines in the business though.

Any advice for selling a boat?
Thanks, Put an ad up on craigslist. The only bad thing is an hour later it is there pages back :-/ The only thing saving me on the boat is that I got it as a close out from a dealer going out of business. I owe alot less the current nada bluebook so I would even let someone take over payments. Someone can come sell it too if they like

Any advice for selling a boat?
I know this isnt the place for it so I dont want to make it a classified, but there is a loan on it and that is what I am looking to get out of it, its a 05, 200 optimax ranger reata, less than 10hrs on motor. A ton of extras, gps, custom stuff, mint cond. My biggest problems are wrong time of year and that it is a fish and ski. Although I love the boat and when I bought it I planned on using it with the family and tubing and such but it turns out it is normally just lonely me using it.

Any advice for selling a boat?
Can anyone offer some advice for selling a boat as quick as possible? Which sites seem to work better? Have been using boattrader but get alot of scams responses. I know there are a ton of for sale sites.Which ones do you guys like better. Will use ebay as a last resort, had some bad experiences with it in the past. I have flyers up locally, and have fingers crossed, even offering $500 to anyone gets it sod for me and I get more calls about the $500 than for the boat. :-/ Only reason I want to sell quick is have a chance at a mint 05 520vx for a great price. Wish I could keep both.

Sufix Performance braid
I like the Suffix braid from what I have used of it but for Crankbaits I like Flourocarbon or at the least mono. I have never used braid on cranks seems like it would slow the rate of fall for sure and not let the crankbait get in the correct depth?

Best Baitcaster Under $250
Love the Zillion, alot. But it you are looking to throw light finesse the Chronarch 50mg is the way to go. I love Daiwa :-* :-* but I recently used a friend's Chronarch 50mg and fell in love with it too. Not to jack but is the Steez worth the extra 200 over the Chronarch 50?
