  1. Yep, I'd have to make a few passes over that and try to be sure it was something I could explain. If not I'd be calling the LEO's
  2. They don't last long enough to zip up and that's a good thing!
  3. Time off confirmed by the boss, cabin rented :-)) I expect Chad will be with me again and my wife is a maybe. Can hardly wait!
  4. Hot d**n!! The news we've been waiting for! Let me just say.....IN!
  5. Fish them (prefer 6 or 8") in and around grass beds. T rig with the lightest slip sinker that allows you to just tick the top of the grass with a slow, steady retrieve. This is a great numbers technique in my area.
  6. Remember these sales often give a chance to do boat upgrades at a discount as well. I got a new Motorguide Tour 82 with the 20% discount and free shipping from TW. Best price I was able to find by far!
  7. Finally had time to watch and enjoyed the show a lot! Thanks Mike D!
  8. Toes are tapping, watches being checked often haha!
  9. Yep, nice stuff at a great price! Guess what my kid is getting for Christmas?
  10. My goal is to pull the 225 off the boat, have the bottom refinished, and install a new hydraulic jackplate when I put the motor back on. New bunk boards and new carpet in the boat are on the list if time and money allow before tourneys start again
  11. Ponds in subdivisions around here are very common and usually provide easy access and great fishing. Google maps satellite view is your friend! As for lakes, they typically offer limited bank fishing opportunities. There is a nice state park near at Ray Roberts that has a pier and kayak rentals. Also, Grapevine has above average bank fishing access from various parks around the lake.
  12. Although I don't usually have a need to vent smallies, I've had generally poor results keeping fizzed LM alive after putting them in the well. After talking to Big O at the road trip I purchased a couple sets of fin clips to try. The idea is that it reduces stress on the fish keeping them upright as they slowly adjust to the lower pressure. I usually have a few die on me during winter tourneys so I'm looking forward to trying them out.
  13. He's about as good as they get on Texoma! Congrats to Jeff
  14. I can't vouch for the "O" either and don't consider myself a Falcon expert but I can give a few fun facts from the four trips I've made there. Within two hours of getting on the lake for the first time my son had caught a 9-8 and an 8-4. Each of our trips to Falcon have produced fish over 9 pounds. 35 is the number of fish from 1-7 pounds we caught from one spot the size of a kitchen table in about 20 minutes. We had three days in a row of over 100 fish in the boat with a very high number in the 3-6 pound range. The fish in my avitar is my pb @ 9-8. Chad caught two bigger from the same spot that day that each broke his pb. This is the same spot that the last Elite tourney was won on, a public hole. All this said, Falcon has gone through a funk the last 18 months or so. Not the funk like at most guys local lake, just less numbers and less numbers of big fish. I believe the lake is setting up for something of a comeback with a better water level headed into the wetter time of year. This place, when it's hot, will make you not want to fish your local lakes ever again.
  15. Bull Shoals would be cool!
  16. Not for AR but going to fish Dardanelle in late oct. any info would be appreciated!
  17. Thanks for the feedback!
  18. Dude is a stud. Came down to Fork a while back schooled us on big bass!
  19. We're using 10# drag deep sea fishing for 20+# snapper and such. 16-18# for yellowfin tuna. 10# is way plenty!
  20. I'd be in hog heaven just fishing in such a beautiful place! Can you give the specs on the yakas far as what you've added and options? Thinking about getting one myself.
  21. Clearly the bite of a squatch
  22. Nice colors on that one! Congrats on getting out in the new ride too!
  23. Thanks for all the well wishes everybody! I'm pretty proud of the kid and hopeful for his future! Sam, his background is that he started fishing the BASS juniors at about 11 and was on the state champion team twice. There he met the state youth director who was also a TX BASS regional director. His skill and knowledge grew fishing everything from yellowfin tuna to bass to brook trout. After high school he went to work for Cabelas, a BASS Nation sponsor, and began college hoping to land a career in the fishing industry. He joined a local club and there reconnected with the state youth director who recommended him for the position as he was leaving it. On the youth side this is a volunteer position with some benefits but no pay. He hopes this will, perhaps, develop into something full time.
