  1. Today was pretty tough. Heavy rain last night and most of the day today dropped water temps from upper 60's to lower 60's and muddied up the water again. Felix and I managed to get a half dozen from the bank to outside the grass. Felix fish came on a mojo rig and Rage craw while mine bit a Zoom 6" lizard in red bug. Wrapped up early for a trip to Toledo Tackle and ate like kings at Big Mama's. Every man needs an adventure and this has been one with a great BR crew!!! Wish y'all were here
  2. The crew at Toledo Tackle restocking for tomorrow
  3. Sorry we didn't get to see you Josh. We fished Housin, Six Mile, and Miles Creek today. The bite was steady all day but best in the morning. Tried a little hump fishing but most came off cypress or grass edges Felix and I ended up with 15 or 20 to 5#. Jerry was the lucky (skilled) angler that got the big one fishing a senko on the outside edge of the grass. We didn't see any beds but wish we did, would have been all over them! Water must have been clearer where you were. It's pouring rain now and is supposed to all night and tomorrow. Sure hope we can get out and try again!
  4. Jerry says he's sprinkled it with Tony's and there will be a coonass feast tonight
  5. The quick report is that the Sabine is flowing muddy water like crazy into the lake. It's over pool about a foot as I understand it, water I've seen is stained. Lots of boats on the lake but didn't see a lot of catching. Sharon and I got on the water at lunch time and tried the grass flats on the north side of Housin. Lots of junk floating in the water, hard to keep a bait from getting fouled. Moved to the south side and picked up a couple shallow and then one off a dock. Continued fishing docks and ended up with a dozen or so 12-16" fish from 4-13' of water. My WAG is that these are bucks moved up to look for a place to bed. Big mama should be close behind.
  6. Jerry, shoot me a text or call when your coming to the lake and we'll all meet up for dinner
  7. Mike, really sorry to hear of your mishap. I hope you get through the healing process quickly. Chris, glad to hear you made it mostly intact. Looking forward to hearing what you see when you get on the water Guy's, I remain "in". I'll be there Thurs mid morning and get started fishing when I arrive. Looks like rain gear will be important on this RT. I'm staying a mile away at Fox's but hope to meet up with whoever is there that evening for dinner. Let's stay in touch and make the most of this.
  8. Getting fired up!!! http://www.toledo-bend.com/toledo_bend/index.asp?request=fishrpt&which=jj
  9. males on the bed at 58 or so and females soon after
  10. Water temp still in the lower 50's. This will be prespawn for sure. Bigun's turned on last weekend in Texas, three over 13 were landed including a 15.17 on Ray Roberts and a 13 something in a Bass Champs tourney on Rayburn.
  11. Amen brother, the best!! Walk out on their little dock at dusk and be amazed at the tarpon and nurse sharks all around you
  12. Not bass but go down to Bud n Mary's and get on the party boat. Cheap and you'll catch a few, a good time! I like just fishing the bridges piers, and marinas, any will do. Use #10 cricket hooks with a small piece of shrimp weightless near pylons or rocks and you'll catch stuff that looks like it came out of an aquarium, big fun for kids of any age. Most of the marinas have tarpon pass through and also an occasional bonefish. Proper tackle and your A game will be needed for either. Any questions just ask. It's my fav place on this planet.
  13. Mike, I'll be prepared to fry fish Sat at the same time. Catfish, fries, coleslaw, and beans sound ok?
  14. So who's in? Do we have an offical unofficial RT attendees list?
  15. I hear water temps around 50 now with cool weather forecast the next 10 days. May not warm much before we get there.
  16. Ok, was able to book a place for Sharon and I a mile or so away at Fox's lodge. Will arrive Thursday depart Sunday. See y'all soon!
  17. Called F&F just now to make a res and they are booked up. Something about a couple tourneys that weekend. Drug my feet waiting for my schedule to firm up and shouldn't have. Looking for alternatives now.
  18. Oh, and by the way, I may be going down for a few days the week before. Chad has a BASS youth deal there and it's his spring break so we may fish a couple days. I'll post up what I learn if that comes to pass.
