Have You Fallen In The Water By Mistake=Boat Or Shore
Once on Dardanelle, fishing open water alone in November. Water temp about 60 so not too bad. No lifejacket on and back in the boat before the Iphone died. Once on Falcon in 2' of water, Croc on wet gelcoat gunnel and I went over. Mustang inflated after I stood up, Iphone died, son laughed. Once on Texoma after having a new prop worked. I forgot to put the big arse washer on before the prop nut. Tried to back off the trailer but felt like there was no prop. Looked hard and could see a glimmer at the end of the ramp in about 8' of water. Stripped down and bailed off the back into 54 degree water. Got my prop and a few cheers from the gallery. Always take a change of cloths!

Jack Of All Trades Or A Specialist ?
I'm a junky but would love to be able to take a pocket full of jigs and one or two rods and leave the rest at home.

When To Use Spincast Over Baitcast?
IMHO, spinners give a slightly more vertical drop to a t rig, jig, dropshot or ? which can be important. They are easier to LEARN to skip docks on. For me, that's about it. The accuracy is just not there compared to a baitcaster, especially when pitching. I've got some pretty high end spinners but they are still heavy and not as sensitive as the baitcasters. For me the baitcaster becomes an extension of the arm and the cast or pitch just flows more naturally from the rod. Baitcasters backlash at times, spinners twist line and get wind knots at times.

Worst Fishing Condition You Encountered?
36' center console with triple 300 yamahas on the GOM running long (~110 miles) in seas that built the farther we went. Destination was a spar rig for tuna at night. Had a 150 gallon bladder on the back deck so no place to put a bean bag chair in the back of the boat until it was transferred. In front of the console it was brutal. Every time the boat fell off the back of a wave it pounded me. Each breath had to be intentional between the pounding and the spray. This went on for hours. The shock snapped every rocket launcher off the t top. The crew discussed the conditions and chose to continue to the rig. The wind layed at dark, we caught fish all night, and returned home in easy following seas when the sun came up. Took about four days to recover

Senko Setup Suggestions
I concur, around 7' MH is the ticket imho

$1.99
I hear ya RW. I should save enough each month to buy another tank of diesel and sandwiches to go fishing. Maybe even a little gas for the boat.
-
$1.99
So who are the winners and losers in this fuel price free fall outside of the oil and oilfield related companys? Solar is for sure going to take a hit as will wind energy. I'd expect Ford, Dodge, and Chevy to do pretty well considering that trucks and SUV sales should benefit. Transportation should do well on lower costs. Who else?
-
$1.99
1.79 no lead and 2.83 diesel here. Should be going lower and stay that way a while!

Duckett Micro Magic
Don't have a recommendation on the specific rod you seek but I love lightweight rods and the MM is one. The only one I have at the moment is the 7-11 deep cranking rod. I have found nothing else that takes the work out of fishing a DD22 like that rod. Good luck!

Punching Hydrilla
Pulling in salad in unavoidable when punching. I like the RTR because at least your bait makes it into those voids below the mat before picking up grass and picks up less than most pulling it back out IMHO

Protocol On Random Draw Tournaments
Local draw stuff keep it fun. Bring your boater some of momma's peanut butter cookies and try to be pleasant company. Be helpful handling the boat and don't crowd your boater's casts. Throw in on gas and help clean the boat up if you can. Do this and you will earn the respect of the boaters in the club and probably get some invites for prefishing. The draw club I'm in does not require me to share boat control and I prob wouldn't fish it if it did. I do go out of my way to put my backseater on fish as there is much bragging rights and a little extra $$ for bringing in two good bags.

Heading Back To The Promise Land
Must go in 2015!
- $1.99
-
$1.99
1.99 no lead, 2.85 diesel today in north tx. Should continue to fall and I'm hoping chasing the tourney trail this spring will be the cheapest in years. Coming quarterly reports of energy sector companys should crash their prices. I'd expect some consolidation and bankruptcy, then eventually, higher oil prices. Maybe much higher, stocks will follow. Not sure how exporting oil via the Keystone is good for America. Again, JMHO
