Drop shot weights in bulk
even cheaper... I have bought these, zero issues.. I usually bubba / power shot from shore for largemouth, heavy weights, big 3/0 rebarb hook, 16lb sunline sniper leader, 40lb braid.... bomb cast across the lake with my dc 150 & by the time rig hits bottom in deep water more times than not spools empty....? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NJVSJVS/ref=twister_dp_update?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&th=1&psc=1

Where have all the giant bass gone?
This may sound stupid Tom but you know of the crystal clear local lake I fish... I have seen many true giants but from my observation they have adapted / smartened-up over time & virtually impossible to catch.... They laugh at your swimbaits, they swim around your drop-shot cuz the see your #6 flouro, kitchen sink doesnt work, etc..... virtually impossible to catch slipping & off their guard unless you find a stupid one during the spawn...

13 fishing Envy anyone???
Weird that there isnt much 13fishing presence in-regards to rods in any of my local tackle shops in san diego compared to a few years back...

13 fishing Envy anyone???
Well choice was made. When I say do it all, its always related to plastics, bubba-shot, texas big worm, etc.. I went with the 7'4" 10-20 fast... Sounds like I wont be missing the xf...

Looking for a new drop shot setup. Recommendations?
this..... No draw-back in just having the hook & bait float there, just put the tag-end / weight in the hook-keeper... Done!

13 fishing Envy anyone???
Thanks but yes I was just going to ask the question again.... Never been in a situation to have to decide between fast vs extra-fast..... So really no pros / benefit to the extra fast option over just a fast?????? When it comes to a worming / bubba-shot, do it all rod?

13 fishing Envy anyone???
Thats where im at! I dont do options very well & would love to get my hands on them, which isnt an option... The 7'3" extra fast I had, they wont get more till June. The 7'4" isnt extra fast, its just fast.... Have no idea what that really means inregards to how the blank acts in comparison to the extra fast I had..... Sounds like the 7'6" from what Bandersnatch is saying, probably thicker / larger diameter rod in the base handle section area compared to the 7'3"-7'4"......

13 fishing Envy anyone???
I had a 13 Fishing Envy previous model with the recoil guides extra fast m/h 7'3" 12-20lb. 3/8-1 oz Have the opportunity to get an oops / exchange.... I cant get my hands on them locally which sucks.... I love long rods as I shore pound & get majority of my fish out deep long ways away from shore & length helps with distance & just overall like long rods. my options are: 7'4" 12-20lb m/h fast 3/8-1 oz 7'6" 12-25lb m/h extra fast 3/8- 1 1/4 oz I think I want the long rod but have no idea really on what to expect as far as action difference compare to what I had. Im a 1 tool for every job kinda guy, i bubba shot, texas rigged big worm, ika, etc..... Anyone actually have any of these rods, would love some insight. thanks EB2C73MH 7' 3" Medium Heavy Extra Fast Line Rating: 12-20 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 oz EB2C74MH 7 '4" Medium Heavy Fast Line Rating: 12-20 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 oz EB2C76MH 7' 6" Medium Heavy Extra Fast Line Rating: 12-25 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 1/4 oz

Yup, always use a spro #7, keeps my spools full of braid longer.....

Best braided line
Love the smoothness of Diawa J Braid 8, never had any issues with it use it on about15 rods... Hate original Powerpro when it comes to my bass gear, very rough / coarse feeling going through the guides... Im a fan of the smooth 8 strand dyneema type stuff...

Bass thumb (kind of)
i dont remember if doc gave jr antibiotics or not. Deff bizzare!!! Was causing issues between my other half & I, they kid with me & tell me im a hypochondriac... "Ough his finger fine they kept telling me" 3+ months of soaking & squeezing puss out doesnt sound fine or normal to me... Apparently it common for the body to eject items but who knows if it would have ever came out if we werent pushing to get the discharge out.. Glad that scenario is behind us! lol

Bass thumb (kind of)
Heres a story! My son 8 at the time bumped his hand into a pigmy date palm tree & he thought nothing of it, finger bled for a second & that was that. Over time it was infected, we would soak & squeeze puss out of it. I took him to the doctor months later to have it checked out explaining my hunch that there was possibly a long spine / thorn from a palm tree laying lengthwise in the top of his finger. Doctor said were not going to do exploratory surgery, he said keep soaking it & the body has a way of ejecting foreign objects over time.... Thought this doc was crazzy & that was a waste of time. We did as we were told & one day while pushing the discharge from his finger a 2" thorn came flying out of his finger.....

Wrist Stretches
Im 48-49? I dont quite remember.... Ive been fishing bass every weekend saturday & sunday for 5+ years, havent missed a day... mostly bubba shotting using a 7'6" 10-20lb rod & using a 1oz sinker... Im starting to get tennis shoulder in the arm that holds / works the rod..... Upper outside shoulder, where the bicep attaches to the shoulder I think. Icing, babying, trying to alter my technique & making certain the rod is more vertical to take pressur / stress off that area since the rod is so long, etc.... Monitoring it! Getting old isnt easy...

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
Its at the very bottom of the page, or here: https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/gear/gloves/prodry-glove-plus-liner-f18 2 gloves in one, liner & what looks like a bulkier ski glove from its appearance on the laptop....

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
Furthermore I was born in the Bronx buddy.....lol? On my fleece FM gloves measure my overall diameter of my palm & was 8.5" per sizing chart went large & they fit fine. Im on the other extreme as I would be irritated if they were too tight & pain to get on & off.

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
Yeah, im kind of a wuss when it comes to cold hands.......? I emailed Gill earlier over that specific question, how does the wp glove compare to the performance glove as far as dexterity goes.... TW doesnt stock the wp so obviously they wouldnt have recommended it.

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
Lets give this a bump. Im from San Diego & fish bass from shore all summer & winter long. My hands get straight-up ice cold & numb, anxiety just thinking about it. I have to have full fingers & can toss the bait caster just fine using full finger gloves. Dont re-rig much during a session as I have plenty of rods pre-rigged. Ide rather take gloves off to re-tie vs fishing half-fingers, Half-finger gloves wont keep me warm......... Ive tried fishing monkey fleece & they just suck, dont keep my fingers warm at all. Really sucks to not be able to try various options in the store before investing in some serious $$, some of these gloves are $40-$50+ Emailed TW & they say the right answer is Gill performance glove, dont see that being warmer than the fleece or wool. Then they said get a second Gill Tourny glove, those look like ski gloves from what I see online & are made for driving the boat in the wind. Im not doing that! Im cold now just thinking about it! So any other good options out there we may be overlooking?

1000 vs 2000 size spinning reel
Thanks for the info guys, something for me to chew on... Seems like some like the 1000 vs others prefer the 2500 I only shore pound & get majority of my fish in deep water. Usually power shot... My usual lake has been closed & new lake ive been fishing small baits have been key & just want to make sure ive got some optimum gear to get that tiny 4" senko out there so I can cover some water....

1000 vs 2000 size spinning reel
Anyone have any first hand experience with casting distance with a 1000 vs 2000 size spinning reel? Cant seem to find any youtube videos or comparison write-ups of anyone doing a casting distance test using same rod, same line diameter & just comparing casting distance using 2 reels sizes.... I have lots of rod combos but thinking I want a dedicated rod to throw weightless 4" senkos into open deep water from shore. I have a 13 fishing 7ft3" 8-17lb rod to pair the reel to. Im confident using 8-10lb braid will give me plenty of line to fish senkos. I like the idea of fishing smaller gear but most important to me in making my decision is comparing casting distance between the 2 size reels. 1 theory is the braid will come-off the spool smoother & easier on the 2000 which ultimately equates to more distance..... Ide choose the 2000 if its hands down significant further casting distance even though I may need some sort of spool backer before the braid. Looking for just a mid price point spinning reel as majority of my fishing is using baitcasters & this combo wont be used a ton, just finesse type stuff when things get tough. Make sense? Thanks for the insight & thoughts

Pay It Forward - Amazing Generosity
Keeper Take the time & take a peek at the kids Black Max, should be a solid reel & all it may need is a quick service / dropping some oil on the bearings which everyone should do every few months if theyre used every weekend..... Then he'll have 2 set-ups....
