Best rod for/under $150? POLL
I always loved St. Croix rods. I heard a bad review from a friend how the mojo bass tip is very weak and breaks a lot. Not sure if anyone else has had his same problem. Too many great rods around my price point. But hey, I guess that’s not a bad place to be in seeing it’s hard to go wrong. Do you own any of the rods mentioned?

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
How much does yours weigh? The crescent I’m looking at is around 75lbs. The one thing I really like about the lite tackle is how you can store your rods in the hatch. It’s 8ft long. I haven’t see any other kayaks that you can do that with.

Best rod for/under $150? POLL
I’ve been looking at Fred’s Magic Stick for a couple weeks now so I think I’m going to pull the trigger and buy that one for my first one. I love that iRod and Dobyns have lifetime warranties. The Sierra is definitely in my mind and I’ll be eyeing those. It’s so hard between the four company’s Becuase they are all great rods it’s hard to go wrong with any of them ??

Best rod for/under $150? POLL
I fish for both small and large. And I was thinking around 4, don’t really want to go anything beyond a 7’4. I was going for to get all the same manufacture but I see now that there are so many good rod options around my price range. The tips don’t matter too much to me as long as they are durable Becuase I put my rods through pretty rough stuff.

Best rod for/under $150? POLL
That’s a strong case because I heard the fury is a really good rod! I’m definitely going to take a look at these rods. How about the dobyns Sierra or genesis II?

Best rod for/under $150? POLL
I’ve heard really good things about Daiwa Tatula rods. How’s the sensitivity on them? I took a look at the denali attax previously but I definitely like the dobyn fury better. Just hard to decide between 3 great rod choices of St. Croix Mojo Bass, Daiwa Tatula and the Dobyn Fury

Best rod for/under $150? POLL
Hey all, I’m replacing all my rods real soon as I really only have two good ones. All the other are either real nicked up or broke. I’m on the search for a real good rod spinning mainly but as well as bait casting. I’ve been looking at St. Croix mojo bass or the dobyns fury. Any suggestions? Would love to hear everyone’s 2 cents!

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
Just looking for something I can throw into any water (besides ocean). It looks like shops near me don’t have many crescent kayaks.

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
I watched a video of a guy who mounted a trolling right to the back of the kayak, sense it doesn’t come to a point in the back it’s more rectangular. No gear was used and it just clamped right to the boat. Also sadly I was looking and it doesn’t look like many shops near me have really any fishing kayaks and all online it looks like the crescent lite tackle is sold out. I live in upstate NY.

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
Thank you all for the suggestions. I decided as most of you were saying that around $1,500 would be a better budget. So I saved up another paycheck and I’ve been thinking of going for a crescent lite tackle and add the accessories I want to it. Any thoughts on the lite tackle?Or do y’all think I could get a better kayak for the money?

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
I would add the trolling motor later! And definitely looking for a sit on top. How do you like the sea ghost? I’ve heard good things about their kayaks. Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve been looking around just waiting for one to pop up one of these times. Any suggestions of good fishing kayaks off the top of your head?

Best fishing kayak under $1,000?
Hey all. I’ve been fishing for some time now with my Jon boat and a trailer. I’m getting sick of having to have a designated spot just to fish because of the bigger boat and the trailer process. I want to invest in a good fishing kayak. I’ve fished on a kayak before and I really like how easy it was to move around. So my question is what’s the best all around fishing kayak under $1,000? If possible to get some loaded ones like ones with included rod holders or track systems. I’m not too knowledgeable about how to add accessories and such. What kayak would you recommend? Also I heard many pros about adding a trolling motor to your kayak and many cons to it as well. What are y’all suggestions? Hoping to get more of lighter weight one! Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Gonna give braid a try
I feel like 832 #20 is a good place to start your braid experience. Be careful not to throw near rocks as braid gets cut easily. 20 or 30 but that is up to you

One fishing line... FOREVER
Interesting choice. Usually if someone chose mono it’d be big game! I like it though, has been smooth every time I used it. Another yo-Zuri! I always use 6 on spinning because I’ve noticed sometime that 8 has been to thick on my reels sometimes. It probably all depends on reel size as well though. But I like the choice! Okay how about this, what’s your most used line?

One fishing line... FOREVER
@Scrapiron that’s a good place to start for FC. I’ve always loved mono but felt like I needed less stretch for extra sensitivity and for better hook sets so I switched or half switched. I’ve been using a lot of copoly lines instead of full FC. with the best I’ve used being yo-Zuri that line is tough as nails with barely any stretch. Been recently using KastKing Fluorokote, much cheaper and great line as well! @Scrapiron also couple squirts of KVD line & lure does the trick with fluoro.

One fishing line... FOREVER
You and me both! It really comes down to preference I feel like. Tatsu is the best fluoro by far and you could make an argument that 832 or power pro is the best braid. However, I would choose fluoro over braid 99% of the time due to preferences.

One fishing line... FOREVER
Don’t think I’ve heard one bad thing about this line. I have only about a days experience with it and it did perform well.

One fishing line... FOREVER
Mono or the Flourocarbon coated stuff? Because I know they have 2 but I’m guessing you meant the mono. I agree with is very good line. Can run that bank account low in a short amount of time though if you don’t watch out!

One fishing line... FOREVER
Really good line. I used to use it all the time. I usually order my line online and I stopped using it because about 3 times in a row the line I received was frayed and had a bunch of nicks in it. Probably just some bad batches so I had to rely on some others and that’s how my favorites came to where they are now. Heard of this. Never used it, always wanted to try it. Should I believe the hype?

One fishing line... FOREVER
Hey all, so my question is if you could have one line only and nothing else to fish on all of your setups, what would it be? Mainly asking this just to see everyone’s opinions, want to hear everyone’s views and ideas! Me? I personally think I would have to go with either Yo-Zuri hybrid #6 for spinning and #12 for bait caster because that line is really jack of all trades. Or something that I’ve really liked recently is KastKing’s FluoroKote #8 or #10 for spinning and #14 for bait caster. It’s cheap and I’ve been loving it lately with the mix between Fluorocarbon and monofilament. What about all of you? And what lb or # for spinning and bait casting?

Affordable bait casting rod and reel recommendations?
I’ve had hands on experience with the abu Garcia pro max combo which is right in your wheel house at $99.99 but right now Walmart has a rollback for the 7 MH for $80.00. I never had any issues with it and it reeled in my PB up until I purchased my new fb origin which I’ve been loving.
