  1. Hey all, I’ve been replacing all my fishing rods and reels lately as they are all really old and have many knicks and issues. I’m gonna start off with 1 baitcaster and 1 spinning set up. I already purchased the baitcaster set up I’ve had my eye on for a while now which is the 13 fishing fb origin. It is a beauty and I love it. I saw that they have a spinning combo around the same price the 13 fishing fb creed, heard the rod was great but many reviews say the reel is not worth the combo price. Maybe someone has experience with it on here, feel free to share even if not. What’s the best spinning set up or combo I could snag with a budget of 150? Everyone feel free to put in their $0.2.
  2. https://fishingurus.com/ i have never been on this site for fishing gear nor have I seen it. Anyone ever use this or know of it? And if it’s actually like okay order from there
  3. Honestly all penn rods and reels I’ve kinda used and see. were underwhelming and most of them seem to have their issues. My buddy used to use penn gear until his equipment barely lasted a fishing season like a guide would fall off or something. I would say no it’s not really worth it. And to maybe save up for something else.
  4. Of course just like all the other comments my answer is BEST - Tatsu VERY GOOD option that is less expensive - InvizX, I like InvizX over Sunline in my opinion. Just have a better feel of the line and its quality fishing.
  5. This is the one I ended up going with thank you for the suggestion! If I had a little more budget room I would’ve hooked that up to a lightning rod! Let’s see how it performs
  6. Good to know thank you for the advice!
  7. Quick question about these combos. I really like one piece rods as I feel the sensitivity is definitely better. I can only find these in two pieces, do they still perform well? And is there sensitivity still there?
  8. Sadly at Walmart they don’t have them right now.
  9. I like the suggestions! Anyone have anymore? It’s not until the weekend so I got some time to figure out which one I’m gonna go with! Everyone open to put in your two cents!
  10. Hey all, I kind of want to try something fun and that is to create or buy (if it’s a combo) a good spinning rod and reel under $60. Looking for something light and fast. The suggestion can either be a good rod and a good reel to pair them up or a great combo under $60 to purchase. I know it’s quite the budget but me and my buddy are having a challenge and that’s the spending limit. So let me know your suggestions!!!
  11. Looking to try out a good Co-Polymer fishing line and heard this one was very good. Mainly gonna be using it on my spinning gear. Probably 6-8lb. The problem is I can’t seem to find this anywhere to buy! The only place is see is eBay and they don’t have the lb test I’m looking for. Any suggestions on where to find this line or to purchase it?
  12. Berkley trilene fluorocarbon XL 8lb is .010 would that be okay?
  13. Heard trilene XT is very good Any other suggestions, ideas, or experiences?
  14. I make sure to close it manually, also I’ve just never really liked braid I’m not sure why. I’ve tried fishing with it a few times and just always missed some sort of fc or mono on my rod. I know im weird because braid is all around a very good and reliable line.
  15. Thank you for the tip and advice! A few lines I’m thinking of trying are 6lb .09 and 8lb .010. Do you think a diameter of .010 is okay to have or still might cause twist as well as .09 because that’s pushing .010?
  16. I see what you’re saying what knot do you use that makes the line stronger?
  17. Yo-Zuri Hybrid is everywhere these days I feel like. With people using it as mainline, and leaders. Will eventually grab a hold of it and test it out. I mean hey FC on a spinning can’t get better than that. If it handles well there’s not many FC’s out there that can handle extremely well on spinning so it’s always good to give it a shot. Sensitivity is really important to me along with how its basically invisible under water. Thank you for all the information. I also heard sunline defier armilo was good from that brand. Sunline knows what they are doing for sure.
  18. Good to know, thank you for all the info will be on the try list! Also do you think 8lb would run smooth on spinning too ?
  19. Is the sensitivity good or kinda just like all mono lines?
  20. Heard about this! Really intrigued by it. What sold you to start using it and what are your experiences with it?
  21. Very strong case that Nanofil is more sensitive than braid!
  22. What do y’all use on your spinning reels? Unlike baitcaster where line doesn’t have nearly as much of an issue with anything really such as jumping off the spool, curlys, line twists. This is a very open ended question because I know there are many lines out there that could fish just fine on spinning reels. What about the lines that even say “made for spinning reel” or “best spinning reel line” such as Berkley Nanofil, are they true? Does anyone have experience with these type of lines? I personally use 6-8lb on my spinning like many others do and have also used just big game on my spinning gear. I’m always looking to try some new line or anything so share your thoughts ideas and experiences!! Let’s talk!
  23. I have some 6lb and 12lb YZH that I haven’t tried yet people are also suggesting 6lb CX for spinning and 10lb CXX for baitcast.
  24. I’ll give it another try, I did like how the feel of it and how you can hardly see it.
  25. I’m starting to get more of an understanding. Essentially choosing your favorite line is trial and error. Guess I’ll have to buy a few at a time and really spend some time fishing. Thank you for your input.
