Does anyone use one? I’ma kayak fishermen and mostly interested in depth, water temp, soft or hard bottom. Not interested in getting a traditional fish Finder for my kayak and this looks interesting. Thank you.

Just bought the reel yesterday. In two months when the ice is gone here in Minnesota I’ll report back! Cabin fever in full swing for me lol. Oh well that will give me time to decide on reel for nrx+ 844c mbr I grabbed while getting the Metanium

Cool glad to hear you guys liked them. As I said I was really surprised to see reviews that said they felt geary so I’m just getting more opinions from bass resource which has steered me in the right direction multiple times.

Hello, just looking for some opinions on this reel since it’s been out for a decent amount of time now. I’ve read good things mostly but a few reviews say it starts feeling geary which surprised me. Narrowing down my next reel to this or possibly a steez and appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

Also considered a steez A but seems its windy more than it’s not so I was thinking the sv would be nice on lighter stuff.

Think I made this misleading, primary users are speed cranking tighter action baits like tactical dd for example, squarebills and at most dt 14(dt 12 far more) and I said dt16 which really I rarely use.

Steez sv looks tempting if I can find a deal lol. I have a couple months to search before the ice is gone in Minnesota/Wisconsin though. Thanks for the suggestion

Using an imx pro 845 cbr and it throws and fishes that range perfectly fine. Just want to upgrade my reel.

Looking for a new reel for wide range of crankbaits, squarebills to dt 16ish. I was looking at a few such as Metanium dc, new Zillion sv, and was curious to see other suggestions. 500$ budget. Thanks guys.

Had this and the Megabass x- bites. Sold the Megabass x- bites. Probably just a preference. Both are nice rods.

Thanks for the reply. Biggest concern was if the tip was too soft. Sounds like a nice rod though overall.

Went for a drive and was pleasantly surprised that a smaller 25 foot deep or so lake was still open. Going to get out a couple more times on the kayak.

Ponds in Bloomington/ Richfield are iced over. Haven't driven by a lake in a week....any one in the metro able to say if lakes are still clear? Have Monday Tuesday off was hoping to bundle up and fish one last time lol.

I'm planning on doing house projects to make my wife (and myself) happy so I can fish even more next season! And maybe convince myself ice fishing is fun enough to go twice this winter.

Anyone with experience with both? Wondering if you would choose one over the other for throwing a variety of crankbaits. And if the Metanium is better, is it twice the money better? Thanks.

I have an nrx 873crr with chronarch mgl, it's really versatile. Guess I'd upgrade to nrx+ version paired with metanium dc.

I spend more on rods than my reels but not in this specific scenario. Lots of rods would work but for the reel I'd get a daiwa tatula sv. Maybe something like a st Croix mojo bass 7'1" mh/fast. I'm very confident you would like this setup. Again. There's going to be many options for 350 budget. Have fun

Thank you all for your input. Happy I found this forum it's certainly helped me with some decisions the last few years. Pretty sure I'm going with the conquest 844c mbr. Now it is a matter of finding one for a better than full retail price. So late in the season there isn't really a rush. Thanks again.
