Crack starting where boonedox wheel mounts
For those who have the wilderness cart what wheels are more versatile? I mostly launch at boat ramps which are often times very uneven and the occasional beach. No real long distance treks

Crack starting where boonedox wheel mounts
Yea it sucks. All I can think of is add a backer to the top where it’s cracking and hopefully that buys me another season. There’s really no other flat enough spot or I’d remount it somewhere else and fill the holes. If it totally fails I suppose I’d just repair cracks and have to buy a stupid cart.

Crack starting where boonedox wheel mounts
Guess my solution will be adding a big top plate for additional stress relief hopefully that keeps it from getting worse. Maybe add plastic weld first

Crack starting where boonedox wheel mounts
First trip out and somehow noticed a pretty small crack starting where my wheel system mounts to top of kayak. I used the backer plate they provided just in case that question comes up. Anyone have similar issue and has a fix or maybe something to slow down the process of it tearing completely off? Any direction is appreciated.

Are crankbait rods a must?
You don’t need one but… I found when I bought a dedicated crankbait rod I enjoyed fishing crankbaits more therefore threw them more often and had more and more success. Now it’s one of my favorite things to do and really helps me find and catch fish from my kayak. The only electronics I use is lake map on my phone so it has really helped me know more about lakes I’m on and locate fish.

Using snap swivels for convenience
I use a duo-snap for crankbaits and poppers, no issues. The comment about the manufacturer would have added the hardware in the package made me smile. Thanks

Double uni knot v. FG knot
I think if you’re talking spinning gear, the double uni is easier and works great. I learned to tie the fg for my baitcasters with tiny guides. Without googling the answer if you’re simply asking what knot is stronger I’m pretty sure it’s fg.

What is your reel lineup that you switch between regularly?
Zillion g x3 Metanium mgl b Tatula sv x2

DT-10 Colors for MN Bass
By far my best producer has been Ike’s smash
-
Tatula SV TWS worth it?...
Glad to hear that. I have two waiting on ice to melt to be able to put them to the test lol.

2022 MN Season Thread
Not sure I’ll make it another month without fishing lol. Hopefully something within an hour drive of the cities opens up where I can kayak fish sooner!

Demise of Micro Guides
P5 destroyer x-bites and dark sleeper… maybe they aren’t considered micro guess I’m not sure but they are plenty small.

Demise of Micro Guides
Every Loomis, Megabass rod I’ve purchased has had them. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they didn’t.

Frogs vs Poppers
I use 30lb braid for frogs and have never been broken off. If I wanted to throw a popper on the same rod I may tie on a mono leader size of choice.

Braided line - which ones stand out?
I really like how suffix 832 casts/fishes but wish the color lasted more than a few casts (exaggerating of course)

Which High End Reel would you recommend...
I have recently purchased usdm Metanium mgl and zillion sv G. Very early impressions are I like them both and I’m sure you would be happy with either. That being said Daiwa is easier to get deals and I’m sure you can at the very least get a15% off promo code. Shimano doesn’t allow stores to do that so you can ask your local tackle shop and likely get something off. I’m probably buying another zillion. Good luck!

Most sensitive rods
Tatula elite ags, Expride, and at slightly over budget, but promo codes and simply asking local shop for discount should get you under… St Croix legend elite and Shimano/Jackal poison adrena. All great rods at various price points.

All Around gear ratio 6:1 vs 7:1
I have no trouble slowing down, and the technology now provides plenty of torque even on high speed reels compared to how they used to perform. I use 8 for basically everything. To answer the op question I’d vote 7 over 6

Rod/reel in person or online?
I order rods and reels online after I read many reviews, watch videos, then bug you fine folks on this site for your opinions. So far so good. Have sold some off not because they didn’t perform well, but because I’m upgrading and fine tuning my preferences.

Bling or no bling
Less is more for me. I don’t care enough about looks to not use my favorite rod (Loomis) but if they suddenly changed them to crazy day glow green like a few other rods maybe I’d reconsider lol. Megabass p5 x-bites was my favorite looking rod I’ve owned.

Let's Talk Lipless Crankbaits
I’ve had success with 6th sense quake thud on yo-yo retrieve. Very nice hooks and color options.
-
Fit and finish - which rod companies rise above?
Megabass, p5 specifically. That being said I’ve sold all but one of my Megabass and bought more Loomis. I do miss how cool they looked though! lol
