100% my experience. I found out with a leader that is long enough to get on the spool the knot occasionally would hang up while fighting a fish so now I tie them to go just up to the reel basically. This is an fg knot by the way.

Zillion is a great choice, I have a couple US versions. Tatula sv is around 200$ and is very user friendly.

Slight ride to side

So I’ve had this issue since day one but too much crap going on in my life I just didn’t care much. Issue is with one internal brake on and dial set to about five this thing absolutely bombs lures. The moment I set internal to two on in any combo and even with dial set to one it feels choked off. Lure drops very slow when I push button and casts less than half the distance as one internal and dial even set at max. Any ideas ? This can’t be working as intended. Thanks

Usually take five on my kayak. Could probably trim it down to my glx 852s, nrx 873 crr, and imx pro 854 cbr but what’s the fun in that??

High temps can certainly limit fishing. What I’ve noticed the last couple years is how windy the state has become. Or maybe it’s just more noticeable because I’m fishing from a kayak. Bought a pedal drive and that helps but it would be nice to have a few days of a gentle breeze lol

I own the 845 and really like it so I imagine this will be no different if I can find one. Was mainly wondering what the sweet spot for this rod is…what people’s g favorite crankbait to throw with it.

It’s funny I see so many people love it but when I tried it hated the handling. So stiff to me anyways. To be fair when I was using it i was new to baitcasters maybe that had something to do with it. Suffix advance or trilene xl worked better until I just switched everything braid to leader

Thanks, I don’t actually throw those specific baits but they seem to be a good reference point since they are very popular. Wish Rapala dt also had better stock hooks , I’ll gladly pay higher price rather than change hooks myself lol.

Is there a particular model you could suggest that would work for 5xd and 6xd? If it’s too wide of range I guess I’m more interested in 5xd rod. Thanks

I use braid to leader, usually mono. A couple times for various reasons I cut off leader and didn’t re-tie and still caught plenty of fish. So yeah, you can certainly fish straight braid.
