  1. Only the bait monkey holds this knowledge.
  2. Yes a small cardboard box and a wooden bbq skewer through the middle.
  3. It’s not an extra heavy the line is called legend x…. It’s just a heavy
  4. Caught several bass today on a metro area lake. Was windy as heck! Seems like Minnesota gets windier by the year even pretty sure there is data that supports that sadly. All my fish were around 7-10 feet isolated grass pitching various Texas rigs I had packs of…. At least five different creature baits so a specific wasn’t needed. I really wanted a moving bait to work because that would have been easier in my pedal kayak but the fish wanted a slower presentation and didn’t care it was harder for me. Good lesson for me.
  5. Thanks for the response. Kinda surprised not more people fish the rod. I’m certainly open for suggestions. No real budget…. Ideally I’m thinking you don’t necessarily need 600$+ for the techniques described but the monkey has beaten me down through the years and I’ll listen to what he has to say
  6. lol I just love how you went out of your way to prevent basic questions by your preemptive description. I’ve also tried very hard but it’s rarely enough.
  7. Glenn just watched a video of you interviewing Mark Zona at a gloomis booth. So cool, he said he was nervous around you! Just a shout out to the cool community you have going here. Thought I’d share that with people I thought it was really great.
  8. A-Jay just like to thank you for all your posts. I almost went night fishing tonight but realized I need to buy a light to be legal on my kayak lol. Other thing is seems here all the parking at lakes near me ends at 10 pm …. Guess twin cities metro area has a strong fun police presence, thanks again man
  9. Watched Ike’s never give up series and thought it was inspiring and fun to watch. Thought I’d pass that along to other bassheads looking to get a fix
  10. Thinking about this rod primarily for swimbaits like magdraft 6” and frogs. Anyone own this rod and use it for either?
  11. It’s a really nice rod. Happy for you that you got it and are enjoying it!
  12. I appreciate your perspective and I definitely wouldn’t encourage anyone to fish any differently than what they enjoy.
  13. I guess the point in the video I was referencing is do you go to a lay down and cast at it for 30 minutes without catching? Yet I myself would go to an offshore spot and maybe not spend 30 minutes but much more than a shallow piece of cover for whatever reason. I’m not saying this is the gospel truth I was just pointing out a different perspective.
  14. Hard to imagine stiffer = more casting distance. Maybe you liked it more so you gave it some more juice! I’ve got limited experience with power pro but interesting topic as apparently my local place can’t keep 30lb 832 in stock…. Braid shortage apparently
  15. Not really specifically answering the question but I watched a video by fish the moment where he more or less said when people fish a spot off shore they spend way more time on that spot then they do a piece of cover shallow. That resonated with me and positively changed how I approach off shore fishing.
  16. Look at the freeloader and tell me that isn’t a clear knockoff. I’m bagging on the trend. And they don’t need it! Rapala is a well established, innovative company, why be so obvious. Are they losing nickels or what?
  17. Only if the rapala jerk bait is a super close rip off of megabass 110! And cheaper though. How the heck do you rip a bait off and charge more like they did for the freeloader that’s odd. And I’m not hating rapala they have amazing innovative hard baits just a fact.
  18. And it’s funny the name chosen for another bait is “freeloader” because it’s a Hawg farmer spunk Shad lol. Think the hawg farmer gives you one more bait for the same price but obviously I have no clue on durability.
  19. Well now we are talking spinning gear that doesn’t have micro guides and your knot selection opens up. I still tie an fg, and on spinning gear the knot lasts way longer for me anyways. Also used double uni and blood knot and both worked well on spinning.
  20. I use an fg but I retie it after a few outings usually… and I do check it every time I go. Not sure there is really a strategy beyond that. And the fg knot isn’t hard despite what you read. It’s super simple. I retie it in my kayak if needed.
  21. I’ve fished Minnesota for 45 years. My grandpa taught me how to fish so naturally I used his techniques to start. Minnows, lots of Lindy rigged leeches and worm harnesses. I’ve also fished drop shot and caught some as I ventured off and learned more. Your sample size seems pretty small to what I’m interpreting you are saying your way was superior. You did show the fish something different and that certainly can help but I’ve caught way more Minnesota walleye using live bait than artificial. I absolutely could be misinterpreting you though. Happy fourth all!!
  22. I owned that rod, great rod. Happy early birthday!
  23. Deep crankbait, jig, punching, top water.
  24. People sell here on flea market. I’ve personally only sold to a friend, or friend of a friend but I have bought rods from someone on this site and was perfectly happy. As far as your concerns about shipping probably just do Fb market or stipulate on your flea market post local only
