  1. lol well … I’m tech challenged and I’ve tried to find the thread. Wish I knew how to #A-jay to get him in here but I think he just color coordinated rod sleeve colors to help identify quickly what type of combo it was
  2. An article comes to mind something like “Rod organization” and if memory serves A-jay describes how he uses Rod sleeves of certain colors to help him with that. Hopefully it’s relevant to your question and hopefully my newly 50 year old brain remembers this correctly lol
  3. No issues with a palomar knot but doing a double sure doesn’t hurt and it’s not like it adds difficulty.
  4. I mean I get bit off by pike…. No zebra mussels or many rocks where I fish. I meant the knot itself doesn’t fail.
  5. On my one and only spinning rod I use a uni to uni knot and use a very long fluoro leader…. Probably 20 feet and don’t retie for a couple years… yeah that’s right, a couple years with zero failures. On casting gear I tie an fg knot with a leader where the knot is close to my reel but never in it. I retie that knot after a few trips. The small guides certainly wear on the knot and require more maintenance. Reason for leader length overall is convenience in number of reties. Reason for leader length on casting gear is on certain reals that I use such as any t-wing daiwa reel is that the knot can get hung up on the t-wing when fighting fish
  6. Sorry if this topic has ever been discussed, but I’m just curious now days how people start the day after the above mentioned conditions. Thanks
  7. Very sorry because you don’t like repetitive topics… crazy as I’ve seen a million different takes
  8. Never heard of him either but I do wish the pros made more money. Same thing for ufc fighters!
  9. I personally have never fished with electronics besides navionics lake map. Now we obviously have ffs and I’ve fished next to my friend who was using it and it’s cool, no question. But just like golf/baseball etc has limits on technology do you think there should be limitations on technology for tournaments or even just in general?
  10. Thought I would just follow up. Went out this past weekend and threw the magdraft around on my 844c mbr. It easily handles the weight. No issues being over powered at all. Thanks all for the input.
  11. Grew up fishing walleye, northern pike, and panfish with my grandpa. Watched the occasional bass show on tv and wanted to try. I threw a frog on the same rod I caught panfish on with mono… I didn’t know any better and for the most part the fish didn’t seem to know they weren’t supposed to be caught either. That being said… a medium heavy rod with braid probably would have worked better lol.
  12. Thank you. I just need to stop being lazy and drive the 45 minutes to drop my orochi perfect pitch off to get the lock nut fixed lol. That’s what I threw them on before.
  13. Makes sense. I might just tie one on later and see if it feels overpowered. Thanks Oh and after googling this just now a thread from bass resource from 2010 popped up…… ah so that’s why you search before posting lol
  14. Just curious if .25 oz over recommended weight is a big deal. Specifically the rod I used to fish 1.25 oz 6” magdraft needs a repair so was thinking about throwing them on my nrx+ 844c mbr rated up to 1 oz. Obviously I don’t want to damage the rod. Thanks.
  15. Behind on Sunday beer too! lol
  16. Thanks for the response… some years I have paid the 50$ or so and go fish Hudson Wisconsin a few times but no more family ties there so doubt I will this year. They only opened year round a few years ago…. Minnesota seems to lag behind Wisconsin laws lol
  17. Think it was last year where the dnr polled us residents if we thought year round catch and release was what we wanted or something to that extent. Has anyone seen any follow up to that?
  18. Never mind found a few other sources to answer my question
  19. I used to frog fish with an ugly stick when I was a kid and caught a ton of bass… but really enjoy using a few rods for different purposes these days. Yes I could use one rod but glad I have some options.
  20. Just curious recommendations for the above topic. I don’t really crappie fish but have caught a few 15” or so actually fishing for bass with a jerk bait… bass closed in Minnesota for a while so just looking for some fun thanks
  21. I’d personally use 30lb braid to 16 lb sniper fluoro leader… my bad just noticed you said straight fluoro lol. Sorry
  22. I have two zillions and a few tatula sv’s … not buying anymore zillions if that tells you anything but my Cadillac is usdm metanium mgl b
  23. All you need to know of what you mentioned is this forum loves big game like a cult while I wouldn’t use it to hang a Christmas decoration lol.
