Looking to take advantage of Wisconsin's catch and release year round which starts April 1st. I live in the twin cities and only have experience fishing lakes near Danbury so i was hoping someone could suggest a decent lake for bass near Hudson. Thanks folks and i hope everyone is getting by ok.

Shallow/ medium crankbait rod under $250
Thanks, leaning towards trying the megabass orochi xx flatside special if i can get a good price. Thanks to a message by a member. It looks good to me for what id like to throw.

Shallow/ medium crankbait rod under $250
Thanks I'll check them out. I have a 7'2" mh expride already, and a tatula elite ags spinning rod so i definitely like both brands suggested. Anyone own the DC 705cb? Looks interesting but i was surprised its medium heavy. My lack of knowledge made me focus only on medium for crankbaits.

Shallow/ medium crankbait rod under $250
Looking for crankbait rod around the 250 or less price point which i would also use to throw small jerkbaits. I know this isn't ideal but i really want to max out at 4 setups on my kayak, and i already have 3 I'm set on. Any suggestions for rods you guys like would be awesome. Hope everyone is doing ok in this stressful time.

Braid to leader questions from an outsider
1 rod for those will be tricky. If i was forced to pick 1 I would suggest something like a7'2" medium heavy fast graphite expride for an example. It will be excellent for the single hooks. You could tie on a mono leader to provide some stretch and shock absorption for the treble hook lures. I did this for my first year and I caught fish. Never noticed the knot weakening from going through the guides and i fished five times a week using the same knot for 2 weeks at a time.

Kayak fishing in pool 2 Mississippi river
Cool thanks everyone. The main piece of info I'm looking for is where to park and launch a kayak, and what's the average date ice is no longer an issue.

Kayak fishing in pool 2 Mississippi river
Thanks, yes I'm after bass, anxious to try new gear anywhere until lakes open up in Wisconsin. I live in Bloomington so ill double check the dnr regs to see what's close. Trying to get a general idea when its typically fishable from a kayak.

Kayak fishing in pool 2 Mississippi river
Wondering where a good place to launch my new pedal kayak in early spring. Are people already open water fishing in certain areas yet? Tried finding info on what the average ice out is but didn't see lakes in pool 2 listed on the Minnesota dnr ice out map.

Curado 70+ light baits
I didn't watch the linked video but if that's the reeltest guy he is extremely biased towards shimano. I own and love both Daiwa and Shimano reels, just wanted to give my opinion if that was who made the comparison video. I bought a tatula sv last year for light lures and really like it for that price point.

Jerk/Crank/Chatter Rod
6'10" medium/ moderate fast Zodias would work for the jerkbait and crankbait, maybe a little light for the chatterbait depending on cover. As others have said you aren't going to find a rod perfect for all your desired applications.

Drop Shot Main Line You Will Use This Year ?
I didn't realize just how magic that eraser is apparently.

Mississippi river pool 2
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I suppose my main goal is just testing my new pedal kayak and rods and reels but catching a fish would also be cool lol.

Mississippi river pool 2
Great info thank you. As far as keitechs I've used them as trailers but not so much on their own. Any suggestions for specific size/ brand swim bait hooks? Maybe even underpin. thanks again.

Minnesota 2020 Fishing Season
Never fished the Mississippi really, curious when the ice flow is typically gone. Anxious to launch the new kayak in pool 2 somewhere as soon as it's safe.

Customizable utility tray
Thanks for the suggestions, ill check them out!

Customizable utility tray
Looking for suggestions on a utility tray that you can adjust compartment sizes big enough to fit spinner baits. I know they make spinner bait specific but i don't own enough to justify that, plus i want the utility tray size to fit with my other 3 trays in my milk crate for kayak fishing. Thanks folks.

Braid to Fluro
Nope.

Braid to Fluro
I like suffix 832 10lb to 8lb fluoro. Seaguar is good. Way easier handling than even the most expensive straight fluoro. Casts like a dream. Line twist isn't an issue.

Fishing kayak
In my 170 dollar non fishing kayak i installed a taco clip for the paddle. Then i took a milk crate and zip tied 4 pieces of pvc pipe with a diameter that fit my fishing rods and a net to each corner and secured that directly behind me with just the bungee cord it came with. I use this sometimes 5+ times a week for 2 years and i did have to replace the clip because it cracked. Works pretty well.

Affordable pedal kayak 10 foot (10.5 is limit)
Lol i appreciate all the 12 foot suggestions, maybe someday that's an option. I did edit topic to try and be more specific but yeah. Live in an apartment with no garage and the kayaks we own stay permanently in our van. 10.5 is the limit. Decided to take a chance on the pelican, if it has issues my old kayak will be 40 minutes away at a relatives. Thanks again guys!
