  1. suggested baits, S704c Texas Rigs, Jigs, Carolina Rigs, Spinnerbaits, Horny Toads. S734c Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, Senkos, Horny Toads, Jigs, Small Swimbaits So there is some difference. Call Gary at Dobyns, seriously these guys love to talk about their product. And they answer the phone. Warning: call may be hard on wallet.
  2. champion is without a doubt a much more sensitive rod in my hands.
  3. How many has the service coin caught?
  4. I would give up on the Raiders game one and fished instead. And fished jigs more, a lot more.
  5. Denny Brauer/Greg Hackney for the Jig knowledge. Ike for the entertainment.

  7. Devcon 2-Ton epoxy. ops, should have read your post through. Sally's hard as nails seems to be popular at TU.
  8. Ya all already know! The moniker is borrowed from my time in the Army, we had a guy who claimed he was half Cherokee (think Warren) his name was Brewer and was as caucasian as newly fallen snow. After being called out by his own Mother a Native American Soldier pinned the name to him. I appropriated the handle as I love to BS.
  9. Take a look at this thread, Do you already have a rod for this new reel? IMO should put most of your budget into the rod.
  10. I agree that the Tatulas are fantastic reels, however if you would like to save some money take a look at the Fuego CT. Basically the same reel minus some bearings and TWS. They maybe a little bigger but I'm not sure.
  11. I wish someone had told me to fish a finesse jig when I was first starting out. Get your self a few Bitsy bug jigs and some curly tail grubs for trailers.
  12. Why? OP, what techniques you have in mind for this reel? Are you new to baitcasters?
  13. Absolutely, stuck one yesterday on a 1/2oz jig with heavy wire 4/0 hook .
  14. Odd man out, I fish rock daily zero problems with straight braid which I use exclusively.
  15. Jerkbait had me catching last winter and is producing now, as is the jig. In either case long pauses are needed to get bites. I do best casting to sun baked banks, cover and structure and working bait back. Yesterday I was casting to tullies and could see the fish tucked down under them, the only fish I caught I watched follow my bait from the cover. I was pulling a jig about one to two feet at a time with pauses of anywhere from 10 to thirty seconds. It was it was on the pause and about three or four minutes into retrieve when she took my bait.
  16. Wish it worked that way for me, I pull strip tight and cut across strip. I wonder if we are talking about the same material as the rubber I'm using will not separate with out cutting, at least not easily.
  17. Make sure you get Good scissors if you are planning to separate living rubber.
  18. Straight braid on both rods that I crank with(705cb, 703c), I'm a rebel I guess.
  19. I won the lottery! My Ace hardware has this line for six dollars.
  20. Alright Sir, you have earned a big fat gold star for your man card!
  21. That's just not right! You have no idea how bad my heads going to run with this incomplete knowledge. Geez, I just got over thinking there was a Bass in every bush and now this! criminy!
  22. I landscape for a living so no rods in the bed ever. But.... I once strapped my rods on for a trip to the dump. Thought I'd go for a little fishing after, was taking brick scraps from a paver job I had just finished. Didn't get to fish, nope had to go home and clean five reels. And a few more times, the dust was persistent.
  23. I cut two studs to fit stake pockets on my truck, covered with pipe insulation and hold them down with tarp straps. Ten dollars.
