Lures you want to bring back?
The old terminator Indiana blades. You used to be able to buy them separate but they are long since gone.... They are my favorite.

Odd Situation with Baitcaster
Is sounds like you may need to send your reels out to DVT unless you are well rehearsed in tearing them down yourself. To answer your question there are a lot of things that can cause that...reels dont always need it but I find less problems if you, at a minimum, tear them down once a year and clean them up. Metal shavings, dry bearings or bushings, too much grease...there are many things but without tearing it down, it's hard to tell.

Baitcaster under $300? (new or used)
Are you interested in selling it?

Concept z reel
Catfish and Carp did some reviews and the Kastking rover is essentially the same reel he was using that's branded different - it's pretty much junk. If you use them infrequently though they are a good buy because they have the things you need for catfishing...

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I am hush. I spent almost 1000 dollars in the past week. I thought I was pretty good for the year...I didn't think I really needed anything. I THOUGHT I left the monkey locked up in the garage. As soon as I get the last reel (coming tomorrow) I will post a pic. Or, pics. Sigh

Dead Battery
So a buddy and I were going out for our first trip of the year on Nockamixon lake today...what a trip. There was some ice on the edges and in the shallow bays, but overall it was mostly clear of ice. We made it about 50 yards and found out our battery had died...totally dead and gone. So I got the pleasure of paddling with our lone oar, the 14 foot boat, against the wind back to the dock. Loaded her up and drove to Cabelas where they replaced his battery. Next time I hope to get a line wet.

Have you seen this new reel?

Bass Pro Spring Sale
They just don't compete with Amazon or ebay...and at TW and others we know when their sales are rolling around. BPS and Cabela's are out pricing themselves imo.

What is your favorite lure that doesn't work?
I am going to get flak for this, but jigs. Swimjigs, football jigs, flipping jigs, etc. I have caught some fish on them but overall they just get hung up on rocks all the time or bring back a lot of vegetation. I have lost far more jigs than I have caught fish... But i keep buying them and have quite an assortment - 2, 3700 boxes full of them. I don't get it. A spinnerbait catches so many more fish than a swim jig. And every other plastic outperforms other jigs...

Have you seen this new reel?
They visited the land of misfit toys, didnt they?

Ice out time of day
Afternoon for me. All of it depends on the weather of course but generally between 3 and 4 o'clock are fire times in March

Switching back to braid? Worth the investment?
All I use on my baitcasters is braid. People talk of digging but I run 15# braid on some of mine without trouble. The most common size I use is 30# to 40#...

Original Zoom Worm Comeback?
Even back in the 90s the worms arent as expensive as they are now...these days with some companies charging 7 or 8 dollars for a bag of 10 I can't afford the super soft stuff.

Crank bait Fishing Newbie
They arent great from shore. The way they dive they work better casting parallel to shore or into shore. They can still work well but they usuallyvwork better if banging off of things - whether its rock, grass, stumps or wood...

Fishing brand new area
From the map that lake looks really good and brutal. It's one of those lakes if the fished are moved up they could be anywhere depending on the wind and temperatures. With all the island areas appearing to be about the same depth though, if they are moved up you should easily be able to identify a pattern. If you want great fishing and plan on going back, hiring a guide may not be a bad idea.

Live Target Swimbaits
They are just too stiff. I have tried boiling them and cutting slits in them to get better action but they just dont do anything for me or the fish.
