Pond fishing during the dog days.
Yes it needs to be replaced, the fishing used to be good around the spot the fountain was located but now they're scattered all around the pond.

Pond fishing during the dog days.
Max is 7 feet deep and yes the fountain wires got chewed by some animals. This pond hasn't had its fountain since june, they don't know if they want to add a bigger fountain or a second one. There's little to no vegetation because it's treated to kill that stuff off. We were expecting a fish kill the minute it happened but surprisingly the bass still bite and there's plenty of bluegill everywhere.

Pond fishing during the dog days.
What are some tips for fishing ponds during the dog days. At my 2acre park pond it seems like I can only get a bite right now by fishing ultra finesse or small texas rigs. They won't bite any moving baits. What do you pond guys throw now during this time? The fishing at my pond has been tough lately because the fountain broke and the park people are in the process of replacing it. Does this also effect the bite?

My pond's fountain broke, fish seem less interested in biting nowadays
So a 2acre pond I fish quite frequently had it's fountain break around 2 months ago a new fountain hasn't been replaced yet because the county park people are waiting for the township to get back to them, since then the fishing has been much slower for bass. No fish kill here because there's still plenty of bluegill and other fish swimming around and we are still catching bass but not as many as we would like or were used too. how does this effect the bass and what are some techniques we could do to catch them in this situation? My pond is a max of 7 feet deep and has water clarity of 6inches, we think their metabolism has slowed down because of the fountain being gone.

Another good weekend of lake fishing. Caught a 2.4lber on a jackhammer sunday morning and the evening before the bite was on fire, caught 3 back to back out of 7 bass while fishing a section of low hanging trees and docks. Ended the weekend sunday afternoon flipping a powerbait power worm around docks and bagged two nice size Largemouth.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Does anyone have any chair ideas for the raider? Both my aluminum brackets that hold my seats are starting to bend down and soon won't be able to fit in the roller on the boat. I'm a big guy at 6'1 and 305 and I heard other big guys had this problem in the past but I don't know what they did to fix it.

- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Is that the West Marine Brand Navigational light mounted on the back? I have the same exact one on my raider but I lost my piece to tighten the mount and the pole. Last year I ordered mine from cabelas but after 3 months of waiting they canceled it. This past April a friend from a bass pro that works there reached out and told me they had a few 10ENXTs in stock and I decided to to go for it. Payed 800$ for it.- Paddle tail or Zako style for buzz baits
Second this, I love throwing a zoom horny toad on a buzzbait!- Ask James?
Despite what some have said I always enjoyed James Q&As on the forums. I don't think he forgot about us, just busy being a pro bass fisherman.- How often are your Ned Rigs picked up off the bottom?
I throw the ned around in stained water a lot and when I can see it it usually stands up. IMO I think bass don't care about the standing action that much.. at least in stained water. I could be totally wrong and also my bites either come on the intial fall or after giving it a few hops.- Bass Behavior
Time on the water.. Trial and error and also plenty of nice articles here on the forums!- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I was looking for my raider for about a year before I finally bought mine brand new at a bass pro shops. Greatest purchase ever, I have a summer house on a private lake that's 350 acres and it zips me all around. I tried looking there aswell, one guy was selling his in my area but tried scamming me, i wasn't paying 1200$ when I could go to a store and buy mine for 800$- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Had another great weekend of fishing out in the boat. All caught on a mixture of topwater poppers and texas rigged missile baits d bombs in green pumpkin- Algae treatment..does it effect fishing?
Yeah it's a bit confusing to me because the water looked like this last week with that pea soup green tint and a inch or 2 of visibility and now it's like a foot clear. My pond has multiple drains that take runoff will the water stay clear or is it just temporary?- Algae treatment..does it effect fishing?
I went to my 2acre pond yesterday after not fishing it for a week and now the water is much more clearer compared to the usual pea soup visibility it has because of rain runoff. How does this type of water treatment effect the fishing? I went yesterday and the bite was totally dead but it was nice to see at least a foot of visibility instead of 3inches or less.- freaking snapping turtles...
Last week I hooked the biggest turtle in my pond with my jig, he ambushed my swim jig and took it with him.- Possible promising new spot…
Ehhh gotta be careful with spots that seem "undiscovered" by anglers. It's like gambling almost you could find a new honeyhole or there's a reason why it seems devoided. Either way take a chance man!- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Had a AMAZING weekend of fishing, 15 bass caught total and I participated and WON the yearly tournament on My lake this past sunday! 1st place in the 18 and older bracket with a 6lb total weight!! During the weekend I caught a bunch of bass practicing and also a catfish on a chatterbait and a huge pickerel!- Some thoughts on Bass Fishing
First of all, I wish it was still 2007 lol... and second this is pretty much my exact thoughts, there's only so much information you can use out on the water that will help or won't help you. Be confident in what you do on the water! Fishing is very personal to everyone!- Pond bait's
Depending on the cover and bottom contour a texas rig is always a good choice to start out with, for reaction baits I would recommend a lipless crankbait or maybe a spinnerbait/chatterbait if the pond is open water and not weedy. - Latest Catch Pics Thread
