  1. Ive looked at the these for atleast a year and haven't pulled the trigger so I read every thread about them. I would be interested to know if there is a different sink rate between the shad and gill and if they would be fished the same way.
  2. So how does everyone rig them T rig? Straight through the end then slide it up and through one side of the tube to texpose it? I still need to watch Glenn's video.
  3. I may be going to a smallmouth lake tomorrow and if I do I'm taking the tubes with me. I'll give them a try T rigged for sure.
  4. Thanks Glenn I'll check this out.
  5. What is a tube supposed to mimic?
  6. Ive got crappie jigs, ball head jigs, ned rig heads, all sorts of stuff. So I can just T rig it like any Ol soft plastic?
  7. I have two packs of Mizmo tubes just laying around that I want to try out on some pond LM. I dont have the actual tube jig heads so what's some other ways to rig them?
  8. Two rigs that I use with live bait are a simple bobber rig, I prefer slip bobber, hook, 6-8inches up a split shot, then the bobber. Also a simple drop shot rig. Keeps bait off the bottom and can be fished in place or slowly drag it. Sinker on very end of the line and about a foot up, the hook. Caught just about everything on both of these rigs.
  9. Maybe Zmans Green Pumpkin Goby. Purple and gold flake, if only you could die Elaztech and make the belly chartreuse...
  10. For the money the Lews Speed Spool LFS is as solid as you can get. The SLX feels very refined but the LFS just feels solid and smooth.
  11. That's why I use a 6.8 for bladed jigs and spinnerbaits. Not quite a 7 but not a straight up 6. Fits my style perfect.
  12. I sure do. Made a setup just for it and haven't looked back.
  13. I have a Lews Mach Worm casting rod paired with a speed spool LFS and its my favorite combo. Paid $70 for the rod. I would buy another.
  14. Ive got a Shimano SLX XT I use for my frogging reel. I have a chatterbait/spinnerbait setup that I use a Lews Speed Spool LFS and I'm sticking with the Lews. I just really like it alot. The SLX XT is real nice but just something about that LFS I love and glad I got it for the setup.
  15. I'm interested in the answer to this as well!
  16. I'm bank bound 95% of the time too.
  17. I use o rings personally. I just picked up some weedless Neko hooks i will probably use when I go weightless. Also I might pick up another pack of weighted wacky jigs in 1/16oz. I have 1/8oz in tungsten and 1/32oz weedless ones but for some reason didnt get any in the middle
  18. Just ask Bill. He knows. Ok so I have wacky jigs then. I assumed they were just weighted hooks but whatever. I guess I ought to find a clear, shallow spot and test the sink rates of all the different stick baits I have. Then judge which need a little weight and which ones are fine weightless. I like the idea of weightless because I can switch to Neko quickly.
  19. I have weighted wacky hooks but I'm guessing these aren't considered Jig heads. One is Bass Pro and the other is Owner.
  20. Thank you sir and maybe one day I'll make the few hour trip and take you up on that! Are beds usually close to the bank? I would imagine they would look for flat even ground but I really dont know anything about spawning bass.
  21. Whats a wacky jig? Jig with a trailer rigged wacky? I wonder if the Bang Stickz are the same way? Ill have to test it out. So the salt makes it more dense and sink. Good info. Thanks!
  22. So maybe I should stick to one or two bodies of water to figure out changes? Maybe I just need to make the drive and have @jbsoonerfan show me how it's done!
  23. Too bad we don't live in your district! I would tell my kids if they had you for a teacher how to waste an entire period. Get talking about fishing!!
  24. Yes I bank fish ponds 95% of the time but I still haven't caught a big girl full of eggs. I guess I go at the wrong time or fish the wrong spots. I want to change that this year. I know there are plenty of threads about what lures for the spawn and all that. I'm curious to know, how do you tell when they go into that pre-spawn feed up and start making beds if you cant see the bottom of the pond or lake? I read water temp has the world to do with it. In ponds that I can cast to the middle I can fish the entire pond basically, but if they live shallow to begin with where do they go to spawn?
  25. I always go on here on my phone and when it's held straight up and down, which it is 99% off the time, I can't even see the side bar stuff. I wonder what post count I'm at? Guess I'll know when I post this and turn it. But hey if nothing else you taught me that there arw stats when you turn the phone haha
