  1. Some say bass see UV light well and that it penetrates deeper in the water. I have no earthly clue if its true or not as I rarely see any lures with a UV coating. I thought about trying some UV dip but im wary its a marketing ploy. Is there any science to this?
  2. I dont know what formula they are made of but they are the Boyd Duckett hollow belly swimbaits I found on TW. I'll probably have to scrape all the super glue off before using mend it I'm guessing.
  3. I tried super glue and it wouldn't stick on the hollow body swimbaits. Mend it will stick and fix them?
  4. I've also been contemplating narrowing down my species search to bass and Panfish. 2020 I fished for everything that swam. LM,SM, cats, carp, crappie, Panfish, striper, walleye. I'm thinking about focusing on largemouth this year. It's what I have the most gear for and i want to get bigger bites this year. I don't know yet though, because I really do like to catch everything, but 95% of my tackle is geared towards bass and the bait monkey is a bass head!!
  5. I've been wanting to get some Mend-It soft plastic glue for some hollow belly swimbaits I tore trying to internally weight and hook them. I see a few different glues, which is best. Next I saw some Do-it brand UV plastic dip. Supposed to be clear but imparts a UV coating that fish can see. Anyone used it? They have dip, spray, and markers.
  6. I was just looking at these on TW. They look nice!
  7. Nice. Bass pro sells some house brand ones for cheap and I've thought about buying one. Either a big multi jointed or true glide bait. No idea how to fish a glide but that's what this place is for!
  8. My best luck with a t rig is throwing it into the thickest, snaggy bushes and spots that most people wont throw to.
  9. I have a pair of the deep water polarized prizm ones and love them. Had them for many years and want new lenses but might as well buy a whole new pair for the price of authentic lenses.
  10. Ive got two ponds within a half mile that have good fish in them but are hammered with fishing pressure so I usually make the four mile drive to a pond that has a nice weed line and good fish in it that barely gets fished.
  11. Also I agree about BPS. I live a mile from my local one so I go there alot even if its just to walk around. XPS hard baits get a whole aisle, then they cram Rapala, SK, Bandit, Bomber, etc... Onto one aisle. BPS soft swimbaits have two pegs for each size of each color, Rage Swimmers or Berkley Power Swimmers get maybe ten pegs total. Same with rods. Whole aisle of Carbon Lite rods alone. Half an aisle for all of Lews models. Anyways..... Whats on sale?
  12. Ive only gotten free stickers and cheap rod sleeves. I guess I'm not a big baller haha!
  13. For the same price you can get an SLX rod in tons of lengths, power, action. A 7' MH would be versatile, I personally like the M/XF that I was sent by mistake. Not sure what it would be best used for because I sent it back, but I really liked the feel and such a fast tip with loads of back bone.
  14. Ive got the XT and to me its worth the extra money. I have the 7'2 H and i see what you mean that its a little heavy on the reel end, but is light weight overall. Im very pleased with it all around.
  15. Took the words out of my mouth. Worth every penny. Love mine.
  16. Ive never pegged but i have a bunch of rubber bobber stops for slip bobbers I use for Panfish and crappie. Ive thought about it but never did it. Now I'm really low on the rubber bobber stops and I hate the knot and bead kind so I'm conserving them!
  17. Granted ive only caught one bass on a jig, not counting swim jig, I caught it with a rage craw for a trailer. Ive got jigs, I set them up with trailers, rage craw in the warm, rage menace in the cold, but i dont fish them. Dont really know why besides no confidence. However I do have a SK Finesse jig tied on right now with a BBB craw claw type chunk on it and used it the other day with no luck.
  18. That's really interesting. Does it work for him?
  19. Even if its shorter than the outside ones? I thought the middle one that the wire is a bit further back from the outsides was supposed to have the biggest lure? I'm an A Rig newb.
  20. I was the same as you with the crankbaits until I read more and threw a squarebill in rip rap and tore it up. Besides in rocks I dont use a squarebill or any crank besides a lipless. If there are rocks first thing in tying on is a squarebill. Chatterbait I have luck fishing around cover. Bring it over weeds or grass, along weed lines, next to timber, and they come out and smack it. Thats the biggest thing ive learned is where and when to use certain lures.
  21. So the four outside wires, the LMS or equivalent jointed plastic and a rage swimmer in the middle rage rigged. I'll have to see if I have the 3.75" rages because they seem short from last time I remember using one.
  22. Ive never seen that before. According to a previous post it in AU only???
  23. I really like this idea. Ive wondered about going weightless on a few of them and weights on the bottom to keep it balanced. Having issues getting it to run without tilting to the side. I currently have Electric Shad Zakos and Green Pumpkin Rage Swimmers so i think that combo would match pretty nicely. This is on a Flash Mob Jr if that makes any difference.
  24. Yes for anyone not sure of my question, I'm curious of weight because they will be used on an Alabama Rig, which weighs a decent amount, add jig heads amd I'm at over an ounce. I'm throwing it on a 7'2 H/F SLX rod but dont want to over do it or damage anything. So I am trying to keep weight minimal, but have good swimbaits on it. I can rubn all five hooks in my state so no dummy rigs. The weight of a Zako compared to a Swimming Fluke is quite a bit just from holding them. So if using Zakos push me over 2.5-3 oz I may want to consider a different rod for it.
