  1. they apparently go for a few hundred bucks. i didnt even know what the hell it was. the junk you catch out of that lake is crazy man, i remember growing up someone caught like a 5 lb piranha down around georges creek lol
  2. yup. just did a rather pricey one yesterday lol
  3. should have threw it in the livewell and sold it to a local asian restaurant lol
  4. car floor mats, hats, a condom(immediate line cut cya jig) and a butterfly koi out of fort loudon lol
  5. 11.3 largemouth 7.7 smallmouth(caught when i was 14, before digital cameras were a thing) so the pic is my pb for 2020 5.4 smallie
  6. sent him a picture of the ghost in the back of the explorer earlier LOL
  7. both of my 7+'s come out of fort loudon on the tennessee river. This was on cherokee, not technically the tennessee river--the holston is one of the headwater tributaries & runs down from it to merge with the french broad at forks of the river up above neyland stadium great reference point, another heart breaking story
  8. "stay down baby, stay down come on. free willy jumping out of the water....sh**!!!!!" shortly followed by a request to my partner asking how he feels about assisted suicide hitting me with the paddle
  9. nice man pretty good buddies with him too. might see ya up there!
  10. what in the world is all this witchcraft? Takes me 20 seconds to pull the line off of a reel lol. also to the guy who is worried about birds in the landfill, that stuff will be dumped by a transfer truck along with many more tons of trash then trampled by a compactor, buried into the earth never to be heard from again. Put it in a coke bottle and let it go
  11. mutants indeed LOL i've caught some big cats and a drum or 2 nedding around up there but can usually tell pretty quickly what's what
  12. I knew it was a big smallie as soon as i set the hook, couldnt even budge her and once i did i was on her time. fought her for a good 3-4 minutes half way in on a 35 yard hookset..she jumped and spit it. quite the traumatic experience. Especially when i've caught well over 100 3+lb smallies the last 3 months up there then this hog shows up. i guess the silver lining here is at least i know where her house is right? i've caught many a giant smallies over the years. ive caught two over 7 throughout my life, this one trumped my most recent 7.1 with ease. ughhh the agony!!!
  13. losing a big fish on a jump and spit, break off, or lose them and never see them? lost a smallie that was easily 7+ yesterday and still sick to my stomach over it. jumped and spat my ned right at me. my god what a whale ?
  14. do you fish with romines?
  15. welcome! get a 7 so you can use it for other applications when the lipless bite slows down in the mid months of 2020. I actually throw mine on a 13 fishing concept c 8.1.1. I fish lipless in shallow water burning over cover more often than not, and it makes it a hell of lot easier staying up above the junk in the water column without reeling so fast your rattletrap starts running sideways
  16. ive heard from a lot of folks that grayson is arguably the worst bass fishing lake in the state of kentucky, never been there but i take their word for it. the guys i know up that way say to fish cave run lake it is much better. Never been on either but i imagine its a standard end of may bite. Put an electric shad rage swimmer on the back of a green pumpkin jig and pumpngo! or a chatterbait
  17. no need to waste your time on that dump, unless you like getting swamped by wake boarders wearing wet suits in january ?
  18. Thats specific to Douglas, cherokee & norris but is absolutely correct--there arent any fish in loudon & you can find fish shallow year round on chick
  19. several old zoom squarebills(11 to be exact), my pappaw gave them to me years ago long before they were 50+ bucks a pop on ebay
  20. So I’ve been going through storage and found a ton of old tackle my Pappaw left me about 15 years ago. Found a few really solid xcalibur and zoom crankbaits along with some super nice valuable stuff, but need help with this one guys. I can’t find one for sale anywhere online, anyone have an approximation if any? It’s in good shape, hooks are old but other than that looks good
  21. 4 straight days? you dont have that many spots lol!!
  22. It's all about the elements man. If you are fishing a channel bank with overhanging trees & docks(2-7 ft) skip a senko. If you are fishing rip rap rocks, I really like to throw a ned or shaky head, but you will go through some hooks. If you are fishing structure with steep drops, flats with isolated chunk rock, islands with isolated rock, throw a ned or shaky head. I never throw a ned any lighter than 1/5 so it only takes 7-10 seconds to find bottom in 25 ft. On the shaky head side i typically power finesse and throw a 1/2 oz spotlock with a 7 inch strike king rage cut-r. If the fish are roaming or feeding up i will throw a weightless senko, if you are marking them on your graph relating to the bottom throw a ned or shaky head. Colors are overrated, just throw a green or chart pumpkin with a dab of die on the tail. also throw a black and blue sweet beaver on 3/8 shaky head from the third week of february through the end of may, you wont regret it here is the typical big shaky head setup i throw. Hard candy in day time, plum after dark
  23. who all is going? There may be another thread about it on here somewhere but i couldn't find it. Hopefully see some of you guys there https://easttnfishingshow.com/
  24. ive had these in my cart on amazon several times just have not rolled the dice yet. how heavy are the jerkbaits?
  25. Wiggle warts are solid in winter man. Same with bandits. Spro rock crawler is a solid choice and you are on the right track. Go buy some DT6's, bar none the best winter time crankbait IMO. Putting a swimbait on a scrounger also works nicely and has a nice tight, well we wont call it a wiggle but shimmy(throw some scroungers on your alabama rig, works wonders )
