Native Hammer anyone try it?
would you buy another Titan? Do you have the 10.5 or the 12.5? Does it feel slow? How does it handle chop and wind?

Native Hammer anyone try it?
Did you buy one? Did you test one? Did you go to the store and look at one? There's a couple YouTube reviews they don't spend much time on how comfortable it is or how it handles. Several complain about the swivel seat moving all over the place. I'd like to know how it compares to any other pedal or fin drive as far as speed, turning radius, chop, wind etc. Motor test front and rear. thanks

added a Minn Kota Terrova to my Bonafide PWR - photos of my kayak
Very nice setup! Is a trolling motor a game-changer, or more of a pain in the butt? I really like those YakAttack boxes on the sides by the seat — are they awesome in actual use, or do you find yourself not using them as much as you thought you would? Love that you pulled the pod out and cleaned everything up with the blanking plate and the Ketch board. Looks super tidy. Do you ever actually use the rod holders on the sides of the seat? What about the rod tip protectors up front? How’s the seat position and overall comfort for long days on the water?

New: Malone Ecolight Trailer/Yakima Rod Box Setup
Very nice. I bet you can see to back up better too. Do you get your feet wet when you launch? Does the fishfinder size and height get in the way of your casting or standing up flipping?

What's your dream kayak setup?
Crescent Kayaks CK2 with a Garmin Force Current on the back, or the new Terrova 36 inch on the front. might even be better than pedal drive. Way more room.

What's your dream kayak setup?
I've got a predator PDL (super fast favorite) and sportsman 120 PDL ( slow and stable - I don't like it). I mostly fish kayak only or electric only water and its always windy here. The other day I saw an XTR with a white Terova on the front, my first thought was "OMG that thing is absolutely enormous" I don't think I could go get a lure that was snagged in tight standing timber or under bushes. It looked horrendous to paddle if your battery died far from the ramp. Ever watch Chris Mitchell on YouTube? watching him made me think about getting the XTR. Stand on the casting deck and flip with nothing in the way. but definitely open water only. dream setup? for me I think the sweet spot would be a native hammer with a trolling motor on the front for some but not all days. it's fast, not enormous, light enough I could drag it over logs to get into backwaters, I really like that the pedal drive gets out of your way. seems like you could paddle it easily. For me the pedal drive was the biggest game changer in kayak fishing ever.

Garmin Force Current Kayak Motor
I'd like to see if you can mount it on the front of a kayak. it says you can flip the steering modes of the foot pedals 180. and you can still stow and deploy. Might look funny but there's a few kayaks that have the bolt pattern in the front and the back and you might be able to just go back-and-forth depending on how you want to fish. someone will try it

Upgraded my kayak trailer tires
I have a continental trailer made for a Gheenoe. The ride is nice and has those bigger tires. I like it better than the Malone trailers I've seen for kayaks. I can change the bunk configuration super easy for different kayaks

The Neko Hack Plus
Very nice. sounds like you've tried all kinds of things. How long does it last if you stick the hook through the hole you made and out the worm? I don't have any of those Geecracks.

2022 old Town Big water 132 my new yak
Nice choice! i've had one since 2019 and it's so fast. Nice tall seat. great for standing. The wilderness systems kayak cart fits it perfectly. I feel like it's super under appreciated. Have fun

Extreme Heat
Same shirt as you. Truewerk T1 pants. socks with no shoes, fishing gloves with no fingertips, AFTCO sun mask folded over so that I don't get burned where the breathing holes are, and a wide brimmed hat. Sunday I fished from 6 AM to 2:30 PM it was 98° with an index of 110 something. I was just dripping all day. I take a few liquid IV or body armor electrolyte packets with no sugar, tons of water, some extra salt, bananas and apples and easy carbs. It's glorious out there when everyone else gives up.

Newer St. Croix legend tournament
Thanks. 7'3" Medium Heavy Fast or 7'3" Heavy Moderate Fast? 1/2 -3/4oz Wobble heads, jigs, texas rig, open water frogs

Newer St. Croix legend tournament
I need a heavier rod. Medium heavy fast or maybe a heavy fast I'm not sure. Looking for something to throw frogs and half ounce jigs relatively short distances at targets. I just got the St Croix rip and chatter it's a heavy moderate hybrid glass rod and I love having that much power to pull lures through grass. I feel like I have way more control with the heavy rod than a lighter rod that loads up like crazy and pops. so I was looking at the St Croix legend tournament line. I want something that feels really nice in the hand. I have enough rods for everything else I want this one to walk a frog real nice and roll casts with jigs without wearing me out. Picture kayaking down a bank where you're making lots and lots of cast at wood and vegetation and you don't want something really heavy or super long but it's gotta have enough backbone for a frog. but soft enough tip to cast real nice and walk the frog real nice thanks

Finally did it. Point Blank 701mlf review!

Anyone else reconnecting with mono?
I love mono. Big game and Maxima. Lots of heartbreaks with flouro but I still use it. Mono takes the abuse. I can trust it more with a blood knot and an FG knot. if I'm flipping bushes I re-tie flouro 10 times a day and no problems. but if there's a nick I don't see or I forget cause I need one more cast..... i've spent crazy amounts of hours tying knots in the garage testing for strength and reliability.

Tell me about your Hobie PA
Anyone switched from Pedal Drive to Fin Drive and regretted it? Or the other way around?

Tell me about your Hobie PA
Stock seat height or risers? my rods behind me.... cost myself hundreds of dollars by ripping off eyelets rod tips and launching other rods into the lake because I see schoolers and can't help myself and I gotta bomb it NOW thanks for the feedback! that's funny the same thing happened to me at Beacon 42 in mosquito Lagoon

Pelican Lure
I did not want to reinforce that fisherman equal food. I don't know if he could've swallowed it anyway

Pelican Lure
Today, I hook a fat 16-18" bass-then a pelican swoops in and gulps it whole. I grab its beak, yank my hook out. bass so heavy the pelican's jaw's stuck open, flapping like an idiot. I'm one-handing its beak, other hand lipping the fish, dodging puke the whole time. wrestle this dumb bird till I rip my fish back and let it swim away. pelican's traumatized. no pictures 😂

Tell me about your Hobie PA
Hobie PA 12/14 vs. Outback—Worth the Hype? Need Your Real-World Takes! I’d only seen the Hobie PA 12 and 14 on YouTube until yesterday. Walked into a store to check out a Native Titan X—holy crap, it’s massive. Too big for me to imagine threading through laydowns or trees (prove me wrong if you can). Then I saw the Hobie PA 12, PA 14, and Outback up close. Instant love. They scream fishing—beautiful design, refined vibe. The PA seats look comfy as hell; the Outback’s is meh, but I could deal if it fishes well. I’m getting older, been on Old Town PDLs since 2019 (zero issues, just boring). I want comfort, rod storage, and an open cockpit. Hobies feel different—but is that difference worth it to you? Here’s what I need to know: PA 12/14: All looks, or legit awesome on the water? Outback: Can you stand up 25 times a day from that low seat without killing your knees? Casting: How’s it from the seated position on either? Boat control: It’s windy here a lot—how do they handle? I pedal a ton, cast a ton, stand and flip a lot. Sometimes I’m on open water hitting grass lines; other times I’m ducking under trees and pedaling over laydowns. I’ve got a Garmin GT 56 sidescan but don’t always use it—motors and cupholders aren’t my thing. Give me the gritty details—thanks!

Old town sportsman 120 vs something else
i've owned both the sportsman 120 pdl and the tarpon 120. two choices- go super simple/super light and deal with the wind and not being able to stand, up or go all in and get the PDL. The sportsman without the drive is very slow and heavy. it sucks. The wilderness systems Tarpon 120 is very light and you can car top it no problem and it slices through the water and the wind but I could only sit on it for a couple hours before I got uncomfortable. But a sportsman with the PDL drive you can really move. hands-free and instant reverse is a game changer and being able to stand up and set the hook is amazing. also- you have to go find a spot to get out and take a leak in the tarpon, but you can lift the drive and pee through the hole on the old town PDL kayaks.

Tie this on when there’s no bites
When we were kids we called it the idiot rig. I enjoy being an idiot to this day

Inline spinner treble hooks
I use owner st-36. super sharp and come in all the small sizes. I think they are a bit stronger than Gamakatsu round bend which I also like
