  1. Thanks, Aaron. Any suggestions on baits? I was going to bring a plopper and maybe a buzzbait. A few lipless and some senkos. Probably a couple swimjigs as well.
  2. Hey guys, I will be visiting my parents in PSL next week. They live in the PGA village gated community. There are a lot of residential and golf course ponds in the PGA Village area that I have access to. Does anyone know if there is decent bass fishing to be had in these ponds? Thanks, Jason
  3. I have used them quite a bit. Good bait. Big smallmouth crush them in my area. Honestly, the Vision 110 Max LBO is a much better bait IMO. It's only slightly smaller (weights .75oz), casts significantly farther and has better darting action. I'm a bank angler though so casting distance is very important to me. It's the primary reason why I reach for the Max LBO most of the time. The Kanata definitely catches them too...
  4. 7'5" Loomis GLX MH extra fast Spinning rod. Stella 4000. 10lb 832 braid to a short 4' Tatsu leader. Vision 110 Max LBO Jerkbait. Beat the bank and slay big brown bass.
  5. Anyone here going to Boxborough fishing show in a few weeks? What time does the line usually start forming on Friday? Thx!
  6. My only 2022 goal is a 7lb+ Smallmouth. I know they are in there!
  7. A good bass fisherman in a boat should always out fish a good bank angler on any decent size or bigger body of water. It’s not even close to a fair contest though. if you can’t then your just not that good.
  8. If casting distance is important get the 7'6" and use braid to a leader. The only down side to the longer rod is if you are casting in tight quarters as Mickey pointed out. The longer rod actually helps get a better hook set on a long cast. I TRig weightless 6' senkos on a 4/0 EWG all the time and cant remember the last time I missed a fish or lost one. Braid helps a lot.
  9. I have the JDM 21 Antares DC. Fished it the last couple months of the season. Its amazing. My only complaint is the spool tension knob is a real pain in the ass to adjust. I got mine new from Digitaka for $530 shipped. At that price point its an absolute no brainer. Its superior to all my 2020 Metanium MGLs and only cost about $100 more.
  10. Can't help you with the MB bait, but if you want a good alternative check out the Damiki Tremor silent version. Killer bait. Smallies crush it.
  11. I throw the rig at the Chu. I always thought you were allowed two baits with hooks. No reason to cut off any of the wires. Just use "dummy" baits with no hooks for anything over two. That is what most guys do in states that limit the number of hooks.
  12. Thanks Mike! I will give that a shot.
  13. Does anyone have any recommendations on a pond or lake in the Plymouth area or Cape that has very good shore access and quality fishing? A spot with Smallies and largemouth would be nice. I pretty much only fish the Chu and Sudbury and they are closed, but I'm not ready to hang it up for the season yet. I'm stuck on the bank, so good shore access is obviously important. Thanks for the help!
  14. After catching a pile of slime darts yesterday at the Sudbury Reservoir I decided to hit up a spot I know I can catch quality fish at this afternoon. Wind was brutal and it was chilly. Ended up with 4 nice Smallies all fat cookie cutter fish between 4-4.8lbs. Blade bait bite is heating up. Damiki Vault in half ounce caught all the fish. They probably would have hit the Jerkbait as well but wind was a major problem. This was the best of the bunch at 4.8lbs.
  15. I got on the list back in early January of this year. He said it was a 10 or so month wait at that time. He's a little behind, but not by much. Getting one on a drop is incredibly lucky. You must have a horseshoe up your ass.
  16. Nah, not really. They were all on the smaller side.
  17. Thanks Salty! Yeah the Chu is my stomping grounds. Fish it 3 days a week all season for bass. I’m sure I have run into your buddy Chris at some point. Tough to beat a Jerkbait at the Chu. The jig bite is good now as well.
  18. Thanks DogBone! Been lurking for about a year and decided it was time to share some reports. Hoping to score a few more nice Smallies before it's get too cold.
  19. Big Smallies are still chomping. Got my 3rd over 6lbs this season in the warm temps yesterday. She went 6.2lbs and was just fat as all hell. Wish I took a pic of her belly. Still looking for that 7+ and will be throwing nothing but big baits for the rest of the season...
  20. Would you throw a trailer on that, or fish it naked?
  21. Is that Carbon Fiber blade painted black? Does it chip? My biggest issues with the Jack Hammer is the paint chips off so quickly. I hate touching up with nail polish or a sharpie. I fish very clear water and have noticed a much higher hook up ratio with a black blade versus the flashy silver underneath the paint.
  22. I fish the Chu 3-4 days a week all season for Smallies. This time of year if the water has good visibility I'd be throwing a Jerkbait for sure. If you want to fish bottom a tube is a great option in late fall as well.
  23. Sudbury and Wachusett Reservoir are open until Nov 30th every year.
  24. Healthy looking fish. Well done!
  25. Very sorry to hear about your big brother. Thank you for sharing the story.
