Megabass VISION ONETEN+1 Jr. ~
I fished the regular Jr. size a bunch this year and don't care for it. Seems like it attracted a lot more small fish than the regular size 110. Think I will be passing on the Jr. +1 for 2021. If you haven't tried the new Max LBO 110 yet I strongly suggest you do. I put a beating on big smallies with that bait this fall. They absolutely hammer it and it casts a mile. GG Pro Perch is my go to color.

Your Favorite Rage Tail Baits?
Agree 100%. Menace is pretty killer as a swim jig trailer as well.

spinning rod for bigger baits
What’s your budget? I just picked up a Century Weapon in 8’ rated 1-3oz for throwing hudd 68s, glides up to 2.5oz, Spro Rats and 7” slammers. Incredibly light and sensitive rod. Moderate fast action. It’s paired with a Stella 4000, 20lb braid with a long flouro leader (12-15lb). Im a bank angler fishing a large very clear deep reservoir (no boats of any kind allowed). Nothing is more important to me than casting distance which is why I go spinning.

Deep jerkbait
When you guys fish the 110+1 do you fish it differently than the standard 110? Are you jerking and twitching the 110+1, or giving it more subtle pulls? I catch a lot of Smallies on the standard 110, but rarely get them on the 110+1. And I fish a deep water reservoir as well where I am regularly casting into 20-40' from the bank so I would think the 110+1 would shine. Maybe it's because I fish them both the same with a jerk, jerk, pause action. On a side note, I bought a 110+2 but it casts like crap compared to the standard 110, so I don't use it much. Distance is critical for me casting from the bank. I use a 7'6" spinning rod with 8lb 832 to 8lb Tatsu leader. Also, the Jackall Rerange definitely casts a little better and runs deeper than the 110. It catches for sure, but the 110 is still my go to JB. Wish Jackall would provide some better translucent color options for very clear water.

Kvd magic color...
Keitech's "smallmouth magic" is basically the same color. I do very well on this color in a clear water reservoir for smallies.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Is anyone else on BR fishing the Chu for Smallies? I’ve been hitting it Hard 3 days a week since it opened. The last few weeks has been extremely tough for me. I fished the last 3 mornings for a total of 12 hours and only had 3 bites, landed two. I think they might be schooled up off shore chasing smelt. Anyone having any luck?

Gloomis Nrx Jig rod
I use my 893 to bomb 1/2oz jigs plus trailer. The reservoir I fish is all open water though.

Re: Baitcasting Rod Advice (for distance)
Hey Guys, Hoping to get some advice. Looking to pickup my first baitcasting setup. It will be used for jerkbaits (Vision 110), jigs (3/8oz mostly with trailer) and maybe some topwater and weightless senko. I fish a large reservoir in MA from the BANK for smallies. Casting distance is extremely important since I'm on the bank. There is really no cover to speak of so I don't need a heavy setup by any means. I have most likely decided on the 2018 Aldebaran for the reel. I'm probably going with an NRX either the 852c or 893c. Any advice on which one would cast let's say a Vision 110 farther? Looking for distance. Thanks, Jason

Need Rod Help - Good All Arounder
Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum. Been doing a lot of reading and it's awesome so far. Long-time surfcaster for Stripers in the Northeast. With that fishery in serious decline I plan on doing some smallmouth fishing this coming spring. I will be bank fishing in a deep reservoir in MA and only want to carry a single spinning rod so I can be mobile. I will be throwing mostly jerkbaits and topwaters with the occasional jig/tube mixed in. I will most likely go with a MF or MXF around 7'. Looking for a high end rod and I don't have a budget. Can anyone recommend a brand and a rod that might work for my needs? Thanks fellas! Frezzy
