Was in my local Cabelas earlier and noticed several colors of 1/2oz Red Eye Shad on sale for $4.88 each. Check your stores!

2 acre pond, 2.5 hours to fish. Water temp upper 40’s. Air temp was upper 50’s, overcast occasional misty drizzle. Red eye Shadded for half an hour but no takes. MegaBass 110 silent caught 3 small bass. Rapala X Rap caught 3 small bass and a giant crappie. The hair jig got neglected

I’ve caught more bass in my life on floating jerks than I have on soft plastics. I have hundreds of them. Primarily a creek and pond fisherman however. 2.5”-5” lures twitched, steady retrieved or jerked in gets bit. I’ve never even saw a MB floating model! Sounds good to me. Do they have the same outbarb hooks like the Vision 110 has?

Our 2018 Toyota Rav was responsible for about 3 broken rods last year but this year we added a GMC Yukon and I’ve got room for rods galore now. Still considering a truck if I’d get any use from it. If I had a truck I’d have to get a boat and then I’d have to go fishing ?

For you guys that may be interested DHT offers a bristle brush guard jig (opposed to the 2 prong style on the punisher) with the head same as the punisher with that lovely taper under the chin so it’ll stand the trailer up easier. I was able to get 9 of these in any color and sizes I wanted. I chose all black and 3 in 1/4oz, 3 in 3/8oz and 3 in 1/2oz with Gama hooks and a plastic clear box for $28.65 shipped. I feel that’s a bargain!

Is this a lure you use alongside jerkbaits and lipless or has it been one or the other on those days? Has there been a defined water temp where you have noted these excel? Do you have a hair jig video? Thanks

Here is the maker. I don’t know what the components are. However I was reading on the DHT site and they use 2/0 and 3/0 Gamakatsu hooks but a 2 prong style weed guard. I’m assuming these Kingfisher are tied with real bucktail from looking at them, along with a couple feather pincers.
