  1. I did one of my most recent reel purchases with them, and they had it to me in NY in 5 days I think it was.
  2. I am a fan of Costa sunglasses, and own several pairs. If you are on a budget however I think Suncloud optics are about the best budget glasses there are. They are owned by Smith optics, who themselves make very good glasses.
  3. If you're willing to spend just a touch more sierra.com has a killer deal on the Daiwa BLX 7' MH rod. It's rated for 1/4-1oz with an extra fast tip, and is a very sensitive rod. The normal retail on them is $399, but Sierra currently has that rod for $279. I've been using one this season paired up with the 21' Zillion SV for T-rigs and lighter jigs, and so far I absolutely love this rod.
  4. I've had great luck with them, and they are in my regular rotation of jerkbaits.
  5. Yes they are out, but not very well stocked as of yet. I was lucky enough to pick one up that a shop had in stock so I didn't have to wait.
  6. COVID has supply chains in pretty much every industry in complete disarray right now. I definitely think there are some other factors at play in some industries, but the global shutdown/slowdown of pretty much everything is going to take quite sometime to recover from.
  7. I have 4 of the Tatula rods, and haven't experienced anything like that so far.
  8. The ned rig has saved many days of fishing for me, including the last time I got out. I had about 3 hours available to fish, and had zero fish through the first 2.5 hours. I pulled out a ned rig consisting of a Roboworm nedworm on a Outkast Tackle perfect ned head, and caught 6 in the last half hour I was out. As far as having trouble with fishing neds around vegetation, go with one of the EWG style ned heads that are available. I have a bunch from lifted jigs that I use when I need to fish the ned rig weedless. The EWG style ned heads are much more effective in my opinion around vegetation than the style with the little wire weed guards.
  9. I always close by hand and make sure the line is in the line roller before I begin my retrieve. It only takes a split second, and after doing it for a while you don’t even think about it.
  10. My latest additions to my ever growing rod and reel arsenal. Daiwa Procyon AL 2500XH on a Daiwa Tatula 7’ M F for some of my finesse stuff. I also grabbed a Daiwa Zillion 10.0 off of the “flea market” section of this site for a great price. Now I just have to decide wether this Zillion is going on my jig setup or the frogging setup. ?
  11. What knot are you using to make your connection? I always use the Alberto knot and haven’t had any issues with it.
  12. Every time I tell myself that’s it I seem to find another order on its way to me a short time later ? Picked up a new finesse setup with a Daiwa Tatula 7’ MF paired up with a Daiwa Procyon AL 2500XH. Also grabbed a few more packs of the Maxscent Creature Hogs that I’ve been having good luck with, and some free rig weights so I can try fishing them with the Creature Hogs.
  13. So far for me I would have to say the Daiwa Tatula line of rods, and the 2021 Daiwa Zillion SV have been my biggest two.
  14. I can't speak to the VMC hooks, but the Secret Lures stupid tube heads come in both 3/0 and 4/0 sizes. Both sizes work good in tubes from 3.5-4.5" with the 4/0 being my preferred size.
  15. I usually just hook my drop shot weight in the hook keeper and let my hook ride up along the rod.
  16. I generally use the stupid jig heads from Secret Lures, and always wet the head before trying to rig it in the tube. It definitely takes a little finesse to rig them without tearing the tube, but once you get used to it it's not too bad. Also if the hook is going beyond the end f the tube I would say you are using the incorrect size hook for that tube size, or you aren't far enough up into the tube with the head.
  17. Merle Haggard - The Way I Am Cody Jinks - Alone Whiskey Myers - Bad Weather The Steel Woods - Blind Lover Samantha Fish - Lay It Down Steve Miller Band - The Joker There are a ton more, but those were the first ones that came to mind.
  18. I use big single colorado spinner baits anytime I'm fishing at night, or fishing extremely dirty water.
  19. I have rods that cost a lot more, but dollar for dollar my favorite rod line has to be the Daiwa Tatula line. They give you a lot of performance for the money.
  20. I had a similar issue with an Antidote that I had. I ended up upsizing the hooks and split rings, and that helped keep it down more.
  21. Just do it, you wont be sorry. I bought my first one to try it out this year because I was looking for a smaller jerkbait to try. They are amazing little jerkbaits, and my collection is already up to 6 of them.
  22. Welcome from a fellow NY'r
  23. Check out Carhartt's rain gear. They generally make stuff in tall sizes that are actually for tall people. I am 6'4" myself, and anything I have ever tried from them that is labeled as "tall" has been long enough.
  24. I've been ordering from The Hook Up Tackle, Omnia, and Tackle Trap, and they have all shipped out within a day or two without issue.
  25. I'm assuming he is referring to Ben from The Hook Up Tackle. Speaking of The Hook Up Tackle, I just got a small order in from them. I really could have used this order yesterday. The bass had the baitfish pinned up against the shore where I was fishing, and were making repeated runs at them up into a few inches of water. I did fairly well with what I had, but I think I would have smashed them with these mylar minnows.
