That’s a hell of a deal on that SLP.

Black Rings
Not sure about wearing black, but I wear a gray one. I wear that as opposed to my actual ring due to the nature of my job. It would be to easy to damage or lose my ring, so the cheap one stays on my finger while the real one stays in a safe place.

Daiwa TATULA 150 (New Handle Suggestions)
Check out the Daiwa Pad-g handle. I have that handle on a couple of my bigger reels and I love it.

Trouble With Perch Colored Baits
My most productive jerkbait over the last couple of years has been the perch colored 6th Sense Provoke 106. I got out for about an hour of bank fishing today and had four bass on a perch vision 110 When no one else was catching anything. I will say that I do catch the occasional perch on them though.

What exactly is high sticking?
Essentially you are raising the rod while loaded to such an angle that it places the vast majority of the force on the tip of the rod. This frequently results in the tip snapping. The rods are meant to distribute the force over the length of the blank. You can also cause a similar effect to high sticking a rod by grabbing it somewhere in front of the handle while the rod is loaded.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I recently decided that I “needed” a dedicated setup for throwing bigger swimbaits. I picked up a Leviathan 8’ heavy Omega swimbait rod paired with a Daiwa Coastal TWS. I got out to use it for the first time today, and I think I may be in love ? This rod is incredibly light and balanced for its size and power.

Your swim jig setups
My current swim jig setup is a Daiwa Tatula SV with 15lb Seaguar AbrazX on a Dobyns Sierra 734c. I typically only use the 6th sense swim jigs, but have bought a few different brands this winter just to try them out this year.

Finesse swimbait rod (spinning)
I was just going to suggest the same Tatula rod (TAEL761MLMFS-AGS). I bought it mainly to use for ned rigs, but have been throwing 3" swimbaits on underpsins the last couple of times out, and it has been awesome for that.

What spinner/chatter bait rod should I buy
I recently grabbed a Dobyns Sierra 734c to use for just this purpose. I’ve had it out about 4-5 times so far, and I think it is about perfect for throwing chatterbaits.

Rod Under $200 for the Applications Shown Below
I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for but Daiwa has the Tatula TTU761MLMFS which is a7’6” ML. It’s a fantastic rod for its price.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It would appear as though I may have been quarantined with the bait monkey. I picked up 3 rods in the Dobyns sale. I got the SA734C, SA735C, and SA702SF. Along with those I of course “had” to pick up two new reels so I grabbed a Tatula SV, and Tatula LT. Still thinking about grabbing another SV or Tatula 100 to go on the 735C which currently has a Curado 200i on it. I also picked up my first two vision 110’s to compare to my usual go to Provoke 106. Though we aren’t off to a good start after one of the $25 Jerkbaits came out of the package missing the split ring on the line tie. Lastly(for now) I grabbed a Black Dog Shellcracker to try out after hearing a lot of good things about them.

Any Daiwa Tatula Elite Rod Users ?
I have rods in both the Daiwa Taula Elite line, and the Dobyn's Sierra line. I would say that they are both pretty close as far as build quality goes. The Daiwa rods are a little lighter than the Sierras, and a touch more sensitive I think. I would have no problem purchasing from either line again though as I really enjoy fishing with both of them.

Vision 110 Breaking
I've seen a number of reviews stating that they have had issues with the lips breaking on them. I actually just picked up my first two 110's to try them out, so I am hoping that it isn't much of an issue. I usually use the Provokes, and have not had a single issue with those. I picked up the 110's to see how I do with them as compared to the Provoke.

Daiwa vs Shimano casting reels
I own reels from both, and for me I prefer the Daiwas. The Shimano reels are nice, I just prefer the way that my Daiwa reels handle. I’ve actually begun switching out all of my reels to Daiwa.

Took advantage of a sale at Dicks to stock up on chatterbaits and my favorite trailers. I threw in the baby bullshad too because that was also on sale for a decent price. Between the sale and a reward that I had I ended up paying just over $7 a piece for these Thunder Crickets. I also forked out some cash for what is by far the most expensive bait I have ever bought. I’ve been wanting to try one of these Bull Wakes for a long time, and I finally convinced myself to pull the trigger on it the other day.

your first baitcasting reel
I don't remember the model, but mine was a Quantum sometime around 93'-94'. All I remember about that thing was that it was next to impossible to get dialed in, and almost turned me off to baitcasters all together. I hated that stupid thing. I swapped it out for a round Abu(C3?), and never looked back. I fished that Abu for quite a while and then upgraded to one of the Abu D series reels when they came out in 2003. Now that reel I really enjoyed. I ended up selling it for what reason I can't remember, but I wish I still had it. I have gone through so man reels since that time, and now have way too many, but I still want another one of those, even if it is just to sit on my shelf. http://www.fishingworld.com/fishing-and-boating-news/i/10559/t/abu-garcia®-ambassadeur®-d-series-baitcaster

Halo vs Favorite?
I picked up a few of the Favorite rods a few years ago to see how they were. I haven’t had any problems with them, but I do think that there are much better rods out there at any of their given price points. The phantom rod for instance is at the same price point as a Daiwa Tatula, and for me it just isn’t as sensitive as the Tatula. I can’t say they are bad rods, just not worth the money they are asking given the competition that is out there. The three that I do have currently sit in the corner with the rest of my unused gear just in case I need them if I break something.

Home Storage for Rods/Reels
I have two sets of these mounted on the ceiling of my porch where I keep all my fishing stuff. They work great, and I love having everything up on the ceiling and out of the way. https://www.amazon.com/RackEm-7009-Overhead-12-Rod-Fishing/dp/B00A16NQTU/ref=sr_1_32?dchild=1&keywords=fishing+rod+rack&qid=1585616082&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&sr=8-32

Frogs - setting the hook
I am probably in the minority, but I usually fish my frogs with my rod tip up. This forces me to reel down before setting the hook. I've found that the added time built in having to reel down has improved my hookups.

Looking for some comfortable fishing shoes
I have found that I have less aches and pains by the end of the day if I get away from the soft cushy shoes, and go with something that is a little stiffer and more supportive. I actually usually wear a pair of Salomon hiking shoes, specifically the X Ultra 3's lately. They have a speed lace system so they are quick to get on and off, and are very comfortable.

Best Dropshot Colors
My main two drop shot baits are the roboworm and the dream shot OPT, and my top producing color is very similar in both. Top producer in the roboworm is Aaron’s magic, and top producer in the dream shot OPT is magic. I will fish other colors like green pumpkin and morning dawn, but those magic colors are far and away my top producers.
