What Happened To, Original Fish Formula Ii Fish Attractant ?
Bass Pro doesn't have the Fish Formula. Did a Goggle search and turned up nothing. Their web site is defunct . So I guess I'll look into the Megastrike.

What Happened To, Original Fish Formula Ii Fish Attractant ?
I had used this for year and my last bottle from a few years ago finally ran out, now I can't find it anywhere. Did they go out of business ? Is there a close substitute or similar product ? I always used the "Gamefish" marked scent. -Thanks

Rebel Pop-R, Angle In Water ?
Hello, got a couple of the 1/4 oz Rebel Pop -R's and put in my bait tank to see how they look, they sit in the water at a 45* angle with the bottom of the mouth at the surface, with eyes just at or below surface. My 1/8oz Pop-r's rear sits much higher in the water about half the angle. Is this how they are suppose to sit ? Should the tail end be up more ? -Thanks

Trolling motor horse power?
I was thinking like you a few years ago. I had a 30# TM on my 10' jon and wanted more speed. I got a 55# TM and it did not go any faster. Was told they all run about the same speed it's the torque/ push you get in current and wind the goes up with the Lbs. I now run a 1956 Evinrude Lightwin 3 hp, with a 1 gal. internal tank and I love it. It's a perfct match for my small jon, just fast enough and still safe and easy to handle.

What spare parts for spinning reels ?
When I like a reel I want to get as many years as I can before I have no choice but tp replace it . Usally with reel maker "upgrading" their reels every five years; Shimano Sahara and Daiwa Exceller are good examples, I can't always buy the same reel I had for the last 5-10 years. So , I like to have parts on hand for repairs down the road and/or the odd "accidental" breakages. On a spinning reel what are the most likely parts to fail, break , or wear out ? -Thanks

Kinda disappointed in my new Supreme XT...
I've chaged alot of grips on handles. A drill and tap and you can do about anything. Have you tried drilling out the pin or rivit where it folds and putting another handle on by re- pinning ?

Feathers or Bucktails for popper hooks ?
Hello, I replaced some rear hooks on some Rebel Pop-R's , and tied some white buck tail and pearl flashabou. I'm told that bucktail won't attract bass like feahers will and should use feathers. Is this opinion or fact ? Do bass even look that close or care ? I lost the feathers on them before and still caught bass with them, bare hooks. Any thoughts on the subject ? -Thanks

Topwater on cloudy days ?
Does topwater lures ever produce well on cloudy days with variable winds ? Been getting alot of rain lately too, but couldn't get a single bite this weekend on top water, where I usally tear'em up. Not sure it the storm system/low presure has to do with it or if top water is left better for calm bright sunny days ? any input or advice ? -Thanks

Popper size for average Bass ?
Most Bass in my area run 12"-16" with a "nice" one toping out at around 18"-20". I usally throw a 2" Rebel Pop-r and caught alot of bass on it. I have some bigger 2 1/2" and 3" Pop-r's but wonder if the "smaller" bass will still hit them and get hooked up. Any thoughts on lure size vs. fish size ? Is bigger always better ? -Thanks

To cold for top water ?
I'm still new to top water fishing with poppers and buzz baits. I've read that the best time in when the water is warm. Right now the water temp is at 60*, is that to cool for poppers and such ? What's the ideal water temp for top water ? Best time of day ? -Thanks

River smallmouth size ratio ?
I fish a small /med river for smallies from june to oct. here in Indiana with waders or from canoe. At these times the averege depth runs 2' to 3', rocky bottom, some depper holes and some fast water over rocks. I do well and wadeing a 200 yds. section of river will produce 4 to 6 smallies on an averge day. Averge smallie (80%) is 9"-11" ,with some (15%) "nicer" 12"-14" fish and very few (5%) above 15". I usally only get one or two fish over 16" each year, the largest to date being 18" (two so far). This is out of about 50-70 fish per year. So..... 1) why so many "small" fish and so few large fish ? 2) where are the bigger fish ? 3) can they get any bigger than 18" in the river system ? I've fished many miles of this river with the same results. Even fishing all types of structure and current condtions. I mainly use two kinds of lures, a 2"/ 1/8oz. black and crome lipless rattle shad, or a 3" pump/pepper curly tail on a 1/8 jig head. Just looking for input or advice . -Thanks

Catch & Release
:-? Those 3 species are all native to the waterways and part of the natural enviorment of the water system as they have been, for hundreds of years before man. If anything needs to be removed it's Carp , thet don't belong here and destroy waters. I'm a multi-speices fisherman and a a 5 lbs. Drum can be just as good as fight minus the jumps. Gar can also be exciting to catch they will leap out of the water like a Tarpoon sometimes, and Gar is delious table fair, yes Gar, I didn't believe till i tried it; so I harvest most of them. Point is C&R should apply to more than just bass, it's a delicate balance. If we removed all gar ,drum, etc. from a water way what impact would it have in 5 or 10 years ? :-?

Catch & Release
Indiana hasn't changed any laws in a long time. Every year I write and ask for slot limit type regs. for bass, walleye and catfish and it never changes. From what I see only half the people even follow the laws we have so I doubt it would do much good to even change them. We have a 25 crappie limit, yet every year I watch people take bucket fulls home and laugh while doing it. Any Bass or walleye over 14" can be taken and I've seen it alot. We have a strict law about Spoonbills (paddle fish), an absolute no-no, very stout fine; yet I see people snag them and take them home anyways. Are DNR is very under staffed and people know it and take advatage. Last year I counted 18 boats without the proper permit sticker. So Cacth and Relase laws would only work if people followed them and we had the DNR numbers we need to enforce it.

Fishing stock ponds for T.V. shows....
I think Mike Iconelli's show "City limits" is the most real show and he doesn't plug any products during the show. He fails to caught his limit somtimes and gets a lot of little fish and non target fish also. It's a show all fisherman can relate to.

Heavy mono. or steel leader ?
I fish a lake where catching a big largemouth bass is just as possiable as a pike. So question #1, would a steel leader used to troll a crankbait spook a bass or cause the bait to run eratic ? #2, would a leader of 25 lbs. or 30 lbs. mono keep a pike from biteing through ? Which would be the better opition ? The lake is a somewhat clear lake if that matters. -Thanks
