  1. 6 inch fat Roboworm in Ehrler's Edge or People's Worm 3 inch Roboworm Ned worm Green Pumpkin or People's Worm 4 inch Berkley Powerbait Pit Boss Green Pumpkin or Black Blue Fleck
  2. Tom Boley is a great resource as said above. One learning curve deal with walleyes on clear bodies of water is light penetration. Walleyes have a layer in their eye called the tapetum lucidum. This causes the eye to shine we see in photos with them and allow them to feed very successfully in low light situations. I don't think you would get skunked fishing during midday hours on Champlain. But, I do believe you would see a noticeable difference in catch rate fishing in lower light situations.
  3. Ike and Berkley released a french fry worm about 10 years ago in the havoc line. It was the Havoc Backslide. Never caught on and was quickly discontinued. Kind of the forgotten lure in the Havoc lineup.
  4. What I find very funny is how the flying lure failed in the US but in Japan "Back-slide" soft plastics are common and widely used
  5. I could see the project z weedless or Freedom be discontinued
  6. Senko......Just kidding?. I love the Powerbait Pro Twitchtail minnow dropshotting. A lot of the Powerbait Pro line has gotten discontinued last year. The problem is they advertised it as a walleye line of soft plastics. Selling soft plastics to walleye fisherman is tough.
  7. Aaaaaah...Nope that's not me. ? I'm from Central Iowa. I do frequently fish Minnesota in the summertime. I fish a lake up in Itasca County right beside Lake Winnie. When I do fish up there. I mainly fish for walleye.
  8. I don't know who sobi is. Is he another user on this site?
  9. If the water has risen recently or is still rising I would focus on shoreline cover. When shoreline cover is flooded it provides more food for baitfish. Obviously, bass follow and will setup on that new shoreline cover or structure. Be prepared though, when water starts receding those fish will leave that spot very quickly. For lures you should think less about color and more about water displacement. Yes using dark colors is great and the right thing to do. But water displacement is more important in muddy water. Spinnerbaits, Jigs with a bulky trailer, T-rigs with plastics that have a lot of appendages (Brush Hog style creature baits) .
  10. The model listed in the slideshow have a one knocker style rattle. The rattling ones from bass pro you are refering have a traditional bb style of rattle. If I was an investor I would invest in some area in the production of Lithium Batteries. It has really exploded over the last 5 years. If they could find a way to manufacture it cheaper. Its market share would explode.
  11. Bassmaster.com has released a slideshow of some items that were to be debuted at ICast. A few highlights..... Rapala DT flat remake with a new name and different bill (OG Slim) Tungsten 2 Tap version of the KVD 1.5 Frog/popper Hybrid called the Berkley Power Pop Magnum size Zoom baits Big Bites BFE (Best Flipper Ever) looks like the cult classic Berkley Devil Spear Profile with creature bait appendages.
  12. Texas rigged 7 in PowerWorm with a 3/16 bullet sinker is a great start. Another beginner choice would be a rebel minnow or floating rapala in a smaller size. It's a change of pace and is a good intro to hard baits.
  13. Ive gotten a squarebill snagged on a limb. Gone back three months later. Knocked off that old squarebill while throwing a different squarebill. Got it back and put it right back in the box. After changing hooks of course.
  14. Ahh yes.... the I-Pilot Helmet. I'm sure the cables are 60 bucks a piece too ?. I do love my Terrova still.
  15. The key is speed. In the summer, bass metabolism fires at full power. So they are willing to strike a fast moving jerkbait. A lot of times in clear water I find myself not moving the bait fast enough. Very fun to watch a bass watch a jerkbait in clear water. Very similar to cat and a laser pointer.
  16. Minn Kota placed a teaser on their facebook. This mystery product is supposed to be officially announced on June 29th. Does anybody have any guesses. Rumors say its another anchor system but I don't know considering they have the Talon line already.
  17. You need to buy a second lakemaster chip to get the map on the second 'bird
  18. Where do you buy this? I’m willing to try this summer on the boat in Minnesota.
  19. A common thing I hear from people who have caught large eyes (10 pounds+) is when they set the hook it feels like they are snagged on something until it moves.
  20. The smaller sizes of the flat rap. I loved the hard rolling action when used as a shallow jerkbait. The smaller sizes (06 and below) crushed bass and crappie on lakes with smaller forage.
  21. If you can’t find the lure back there are few different options. Berkley makes the Craw Fatty which looks very similar. Bruiser Baits makes a similar looking bait called the Avenger.
  22. The docks just show the angling pressure those lakes have. I also forgot to mention the shrinking population of cisco and whitefish in a lot of Minnesota lakes
  23. You hit it right on the money. I drive through the Brainerd area to go to a lake near Grand Rapids. I laugh everytime I go by the lakes. Docks beyond docks along the shore. Then I get on a walleye forum and guys complain about how the walleye population has gone down in those lakes. ?
  24. I come from a family of Walleye fisherman and I can tell you the mindset of some walleye fisherman is backwards. All they want to do is keep as much as they can. Then complain about walleye populations not being high enough. A proposed bill is in the Minnesota house that proposes lowering the daily limit to 4. I think they should lower it to 3 if not 2. Considering 75% of the walleye fisherman try to take home a daily limit everyday.
