is 3/0 too small for ribbon tail worm fishing?
oh now this is actually quite good to know, because I was flipping. now I was wanting to use something with alot of action because it wasnt super snaggy, do you think maybe a lizard that is shorter or a creature bait like a brush hog be a better choice perhaps? thankyou so so so much for this information, this is very good for me to know!!!!! okay okay thats good to know. I am thinking the fish where small, OR it could also very very well be what buzzbaiter said that because im flipping these worms into cover, when the bass hits it he may short strike it and just get the tail, that could also be a possibility. Thankyou for helping me solve this issue, you guys are very helpfull

yeah I understand, its just one of those things, but you should be happy and while I dont like to be proud or prideful, you should be satisfied with what you have done, because anglers do a tremendous amount of good for wild-life and fisheries in general. When you buy a fishing liscence DFG does amazing things for animals and fish species that are endangered, so you are helping out the environment more than you know. Many bass tournaments also put money twords conservation and truley being an conservationist and loving fishing can go hand in hand, its all about moderation. I even keep some bass from time to time. Just remember by accasionally killing a bass or two every once in a while, you are conserving rare species and animals for the next generation just by funding DFG and bait companies that put back into the community

is 3/0 too small for ribbon tail worm fishing?
oh okay, would you reccomend letting them take it for an extra second to get that extra 2 inches of worm in their mouth? Im used to fishing 4 and 5 inch baits, will this help you think?

Hooked a beautiful, feisty little LMB through the eye today...
okay this video talks about the mortality rates of bass, I didnt believe it at first but it is true, also its 31% percent my bad, not 30% oh Oh P.S the mortality of tournament fishing is actually less because there are more C&R anglers than tournament anglers, which means that more fish die to C&R anglers.

Tight Line or Slack Line hookset?
to be honest I mostly just reel down and set the hook, although I should be waiting longer on bigger baits for them to eat it longer like ribbon tails. I need to learn to give em a few seconds. same for topwaters, have lost quite a few fish setting the hook immediately. Its more about bait size and timing than how much slack is in your line I think.

is 3/0 too small for ribbon tail worm fishing?
so I was flipping and pitching a ribbon tail worm into cover and having a blast, but I missed two fish doing this method. the worms are about 7 inches and should I upgrade to a 4/0? I use 3/0 for most my plastics, from senkos to creature baits and flukes. I just didnt know if these bigger worms should have bigger hooks, because I lost two and only caught one, which isnt great odds

happens from time to time, I have done it with panfish and even brown trout. with bass I have seen them missing an eye and they live fine, part of fishing. Many of the fish you release dont even live to see another day, no matter how gentle you can be or hop close to the lip they where hooked, it just happens. 30% of bass caught by C&R anglers die. 50% of lightly bleeding fish die. they are a hearty fish but, they are only mortal.

rod tip slipped off, help to put it back on?
oh its not like the tip is broken, kinda think of it like a bottle cap I guess, its an older reel and you can put it back on the rod but it has come of from old age I assume. will try some of this and will think about hot glue okay I will for sure take this into consideration, thanks! okay super glue or hot glue, nice. yeah its just a freshwater bass rod and its a flipping stick and the guide isnt broken or anything it just slipped off, (The tip slipped off)

In love with the abu garcia black max, your opinions?
Okay, that is good to know, I saw the pro max as well but the bmax was cheaper My old stx is a 2010 model, the black max isn't as smooth, but casts a weightless senko waayy further, but I think it's because of a lighter spool because of mag breaks Lol yeah, I do like ugly sticks for surfboard fishing surprising what you can catch lol Lol Wow that's good to hear about the durability Lol , if you like Ozark trails they make a 8 pack of knockoff kaitechs for 2.99 and they look good in the water!

So I purchased a black max from walmart yesterday and have been casting it around the yard a ton. I was very impressed with how well you can pitch, sidearm, and overhead with good distance. The backlash in the begening can be a little overwhelming but keeping thumb pressure down in the beginning seemed to help. It also seemed that it threw lighter lures tremendously farther, but that could be because its a mag system with a lighter spool compared to my centrifugal. do you like the black max and how long has it lasted for you?
