  1. I like them all, they all have a place in my collection.
  2. Another fan of Owner ST-36BC treble hooks. You probably will be using sizes 4 and 6 with more going to the size 4. I also keep spares on the boat at all times.
  3. That is funny....I bought this for my dad 15-20 years ago and just never got opened.
  4. Now that you say that I am keeping it as my back-up, those dam JDM Shimano's just don't hold up.
  5. No, not at this time......
  6. John, What is scary is I have one still in its original package laying around somewhere......
  7. I am getting to this topic late but this post is very well said.........
  8. So the secret is out..........
  9. They are both very fine reels and you would not go wrong with either one. In a nut shell it depends on how much you want to spend, the GT will be cheaper......
  10. To answer your question yes they are worth every penny to me, but that is just my opinion. I enjoy working on all my fishing equipment and do appreciate product that will stand the test of time. If I can have a reel that the spool speed can be double or tripled and will not backlash ,well then I am in.If I can have a reel with 11 instead of 6 or 8 ball bearings I am in. I can go on but I think you can get my point. As for the cost well let me suggest a different point of view. If that 600.00 reel lasted you 10 or 15 years that would average 40 to 60 dollars a year not including maintenance which you would do on any reel you own. Again this is just my opinion but I would suggest you try some of the reels you mentioned and you may just come out with a different point of view.

  12. I fish the Frog in some pretty heavy weeded areas more than open water. So my combo is set up to lug them out.....Loomis TWFR 935C (7'9") Mag Heavy with a Calais 200 DC spooled with Sufix 65 lb. Braid also upgraded to Carbontex ......it does the job for me.
  13. Been using Shimano for a long time......
  14. I have had no problems with them at all.....just super hook ups.
  15. I will tell you that they are very soft and you will get super hook-ups....They are the softest out of the box out there. I have spro also, but try a koppers you will not go back.
  16. What is to hide....My wife has a Griffon Zero attached to her key ring......She loves Megabass.
  17. That koppers looks real sweet. How is the action in the water?
  18. Is that all....... :) Again that is a reel sweet fish you got there.
  19. This fish was was caught on a discontinued JDM crankbait, on 8# CXX, using an Avid AVC70MM. To think I was lucky to get it back is a HUGE understatement. Now John that is a nice looking Mr.Tooth.....
  20. The spinners do not spin unless they have open water, so they kinda glide over the junk. Your spinner bait is in the vertical and the rats are in the horizontal. I hope you can get the picture.
