Siebert Shot caller Swim Jig
Just getting into jig fishing, and I'm still lost in the jig world since there are so many varieties out there. I'm curious as to if there's an "all-purpose jig" that can: 1) swim 2) work off the bottom like a football(?) jig. Does Siebert have one of those? What would be the most popular color/weight? I've some football jigs that's collecting dust in my tackle box as we speak. Am I "allowed" to swim them too or are they not made for that purpose? Thank you, Mr Jig Experts!

G. Loomis questions
Which NRX+ version(s) do you have? I suppose 854 should be able to handle 1/2 and maybe up to 3/4? Is 854JWR just as versatile as 853? Should I get both 853 and 854 and be done with it for the next ten years till they come out with a newer/improved version of NRX+?

G. Loomis questions
I’m torn between NRX+ 853JWR/NRX+853MBR/Conquest 853MBR If you were me, what would you pick? I’m looking for a rod that can do plastic baits as well as jigs(1/4 to 1/2) Also, what’s so special about Conquest line anyway? It’s at least $100 more than aforementioned rods that are pretty pricey themselves. Is it worth the $$ or just a marketing gimmick?

Siebert Shot caller Swim Jig
Mike, just got the prompt delivery of swim jigs, and they are already producing! Thank you. When do you pros use rattles in jigs?

Rod for swim jig?
Isn’t glass suppose to be ideal for either crank bait or chatterbait or perhaps even both?

Rod for swim jig?
Based on concept that glass rod is the consensus for chatterbait, I used a glass rod for swim jig - mostly 1/4 or 3/8 oz - as well since IMHO they’re similar. Well, I missed a nice three pounder, and barely hooked others. Should I have used a stiffer worm rod instead? What do you experts use?

Siebert Shot caller Swim Jig
Oops, one more. When do you use those rattles? Is it seasonal or personal?

I’m ordering some of those as we speak! Thank you, Mike!

Siebert Shot caller Swim Jig
I was perusing their website. and came across this jig called Shot caller. How does this differ from a regular swim jig? Is it just the head shape? Generally speaking, what’s the most prolific color for swim jigs? I’ve been using 1/4 oz black/blue with a trailer which has been successful for me. What’s your go to color scheme? Thank you in advance.

Salad Spoon epic fail
Do you always set the hook in that fashion? Do you suggest weighted hook or without for topwater frog baits? Thank you, Tom!

Salad Spoon epic fail
I used a glass rod, thinking that since it's MH that would be stiff enough and at the same time "delay" the hook set for a better percentage of catching fish. I guess I'm wrong...once again. Why do you use unweighted EWG hook? Very interesting story, and it makes a lot of sense. I appreciate that. Do you recommend straight braid as well?

Salad Spoon epic fail
I was so excited to try this top water bait, and the fact that there were many positive reviews reassured my purchase. Today, I used a white SS with a brand new 4/0 weighted Gamakatsu EWG hook at a local lake. I had two solid hits, set the hook accordingly, but I missed both times. What did I do wrong, experts? As you know, the bait is chunky/fat, but the hook is exposed albeit it is hidden. I used 7'2" MH glass Expride rod with a Shimano baitcaster spooled with 30 lb braid line with a mono leader. Perhaps I used a wrong hook?

Evergreen SB125 topwater bait
So, I see that your middle hook is MIA as well. The lure looks pretty good to me, and thank you for the pic.

Favorite Soft Plastics
Other than what's already been mentioned such as Zoom, Strike King, etc , I really like Riot baits, Missile Baits, and Keitech. New(?) Keitech Custom Leech looks very promising.

Evergreen SB125 topwater bait
A bit too pain to remove those treble hooks especially when more than one hook got the fish, and I feel bad for the fish as well. I guess I'm a softy. lol. I've never removed the front hook before so I may give it a try. Appreciate those feathered hooks you sent me a while back, and they do work! Much obliged, sir.

Evergreen SB125 topwater bait
What size of inline hooks - and the brand - do you use? Any pix of your modified lure that you can post? Thank you, sir!

Evergreen SB125 topwater bait
Bought this bait just because; 1) it looked good 2) it was on sale It looks attract enough to catch fish, but IMNSHO, it has too many hooks. It will be a complete mess if the middle hook gets involved when a fish is hooked, and I'm thinking about removing it for good. My Qs to you experts are; will it kill the action if I remove the middle hook, and will it be just as effective w/o it?

Zoom fluke vs super fluke?
I just checked on Flush, and I think it looks great. Do you use an underspin with it, and what's your favorite color? Spinning or casting?

Rage swimmer vs Googan Bait's Saucy Swimmer
Q for you tackle experts. Rage Swimmer is on sale for $4.99, and Googan for $5.99. Both come with six per pack. So, which bait renders the best bang - better action and hopefully catches more fish - for the buck? Thank you for your input in advance!

Your favorite finesse swim bait?
My flavor of the month was/is Riot bait Tattletail which is, unfortunately, no longer made, and I'm looking for something similar. What's your favorite finesse swim bait that "works"?
