  1. What are the casting differences like between the G and the HD? I'm considering an HD for a new frog reel, but it would see some jig duties as well.... Possibly some skipping.
  2. Well, I think I may need to try one of these for frog rod. Maybe some jig duties. I usually run 7.X:1 on everything other than crankbait reels. Considering the 8 speed, but nearly 34" LPT seems pretty fast. Anyone have thoughts? Also, I wonder how the Mag-Z is at skipping jigs compared to the SV?
  3. I gotta say…. The JDM Zillion HD almost seems like a better option than the SV. Would be a sweet frog reel.
  4. I don’t think they are the same as the USDM Tat knobs. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think they are the same shape, but smaller like @iabass8 said. ETA: The JDM knobs are definitely smaller.
  5. Yea, handle is 90mm, but it has the tiny knobs.
  6. Ah, darn. I was about to pull the trigger on a JDM, but if I have to replace the whole handle to get the larger knobs, I'll prob just go with a US. (assuming they have the larger knobs).
  7. If I could only have Big Shad and “Bream”, I’d be just fine.
  8. Is that the length of the knobs? I know there’s two diff sizes of that style knob. The size that comes on the US Tats, and a smaller size. Not a fan of the smaller size.
  9. Does the JDM Zillion have a shorter handle and smaller knobs than the US? I usually prefer a 90mm handle, and the longer knobs that come on the US Tatulas.
  10. What do you do when you accidentally break off one OG Slim??? You order five more of course.?‍♂️
  11. Yep. This is all I use for wacky rigs these days.
  12. No one can really answer that but you. If it works well for your purposes, and you enjoy it, that’s what matters.
  13. Well, to be fair, he may have actually only used it one time? But I haven’t seen a first gen for retail sale in at least a couple of years I don’t think. Sounds like a case of neither seller nor buyer were very schooled up on the product. (I don’t mean any offense by that)
  14. Gotcha. Hope it serves you well! just FYI, that is a 1st Gen. The second gens came out in 2018 I believe.
  15. A new one? where?
  16. If I was buying a Lews, it would be the tourney pro.
  17. I have two Tatula 7’1” H/F. A frog usually lives on one, and a 3/8 jig on the other. It casts a pad crasher well. Does it load up a bunch on the cast? Not really, but definitely enough. It’s a stiff rod, but it’s sensitive, and pretty light. Not t a broomstick like the 7’4” Tatula “Frog” rod. But with 50lb 832 I can drag a fish out of just about anything.
  18. Yea, I have two cheap corded knives. They’ll both get after it. Small brushless motors are so good these days I figured this cordless would be a monster. After all, it’s “20% more powerful!!!”. Not the case.
  19. You’re right. A more accurate statement would be I like the idea of it. It’s just hard to believe it’s “supposed” to cut this slow.
  20. If I swapped it for a Rapala, it would be the newer R12 HD. Just wish I could compare them in person. I like this Bubba, but the blades just oscillate too slow, and they are way too coarse.
  21. Do you have the R12?
  22. Does anyone use one of the Bubba Pro series fillet knives? I recently picked one up, and it seems like a great knife, but it’s painstakingly slow. My $18 black and decker corded knife I’ve had for 10 years zips through a fish 2-3 times as fast. When you get to 2-2.5lb fish, it really seems to slow up. I reached out to Bubba and they weren’t much help. They just have me a generic answer “we do not know the specific RPM of the Pro knife, but it’s 20% more powerful!!” ?‍♂️ Did I get a lemon? Or are they just a good bit slower than a corded knife?
  23. Im not sure what that has to do with it? Your close relatives (and all other LE) aren’t able to personally protect/defend every law abiding citizen in the state at all times. So granting those citizens the ability to protect themselves (which should have never been taken away) is absolutely a good thing.
  24. If I set my Curado DC on "1" and threw a 1/2oz spinner, it would take constant thumb dragging or excessive spool knob pressure to keep the spool halfway manageable. Both of which are detrimental to casting distance, and completely negate the modern braking system that is "DC". I was a spool tension knob wizard when I fished bunch of Abu 5500s.... However on all my modern reels I don't touch the spool knob once initially set. I just make slight adjustments to the braking system for various lures/conditions. Per Shimano, that's how the DC should be as well.
