NRX+ Spinning Rods
Yes. 821 ned rig and 872 jwr are awesome. I use 821 for ned rig and wacky senko, and the 872 is the best shakey head rod ever created.

Zoom Z3 trick worm
Magic is my favorite color. It's somewhere in between watermelon and green pumpkin.

Zoom Z3 trick worm
Just wanted to say these have been a game changer for me. awesome worm. The tail really stays up on a shaky head. Definitely a huge improvement over the regular trick worm.

Hooks for wacky rigs.
Vmc neko hooks are great. I like size 1 or 1/0

St. Croix Premier vs Victory Rod... Worth the upgrade?
Good choice. I really like my Victory 6'10" medium light. I think the tip is fine for open hook presentations (drop shot, wacky senko, ned rig). It is impressively light weight (around 3 ounces) for the price point.

drop shot for lg.mouth bass
I catch largemouth on KVD dreamshot. I like triple magic the best.

Pond fishing during the dog days.
I would try drop shotting the deep parts, with a small bait - e.g., KVD Dreamshot, 4" roboworm, jackall crosstail shad, etc.

St. Croix Victory Spinning 6'10" ML
I actually think it is on the lighter side of medium light. But that is mostly a seat of my pants determination, and I am far from an expert. I think the spongy tip is what I didn't like about using it for the ned rig. But the tip is really great for stationary and slowly dragging a drop shot.

St. Croix Victory Spinning 6'10" ML
I fished my new Victory spinning rod (6'10") ML for the first time today. First off, this thing is light. I mean like crazy light. It helps that I paired it with a JDM Shimano Vanquish 2000. The vanquish is 5.1 oz, so the whole combo clocks in at 8.2 oz. I used the rod for 2 presentations: 1/15 oz ned rig with trd, and (2) drop shot with KVD dreamshot and 3/16 oz cylinder weight. The rod has a soft/spongy tip. I didn't love the rod for the ned rig - it just felt too disconnected (most rods do with a 1/15 oz weight). I like my Megabass Addermine better for the ned. Eager to try the NRX+ 821 NRR ned rig rod someday. But I loved the Victory for drop shot. I had no problem feeling bites, sensitivity was good. Probably not as sensitive as my Addermine or my NRX 852s. But the tip is perfect for drop shot. Very soft but then transitions to backbone pretty quickly. I lost my first fish because my drag was way too loose (I was scared I would break off with 6 lb test). I tightened my drag and then landed my second bass. It was around 2 lbs, and fought above its class. The rod handled the fish well. It's a lighter weight rod (on the lighter side of medium light), so you definitely enjoy the fight more than usual. Although I had tightened my drag for this one, the fish still made two or three runs where it was pulling line and the drag clicker was singing. By the way, the Vanquish is insane. I have a certate lt 2500 , a luvias lt 2000FC, and stradic fl 3000. The vanquish is the smoothest of the bunch with so little start up inertia. I put 8 lb Berkley x9 braid (which is fantastic by the way) coupled with 6 lb trilelene sensation as a leader.

Question about all-purpose spinning setup (Ugly Stik + Pflueger)
I have a fenwick eagle medium light spinning, and I hate it. It supposedly moderate fast, but it's way too parabolic for my taste. I would seriously give it to you for free if you are near atlanta, ga.

Fiblink rods
I have their 3 piece 9 foot and 11 foot surf rods. I think the surf rods are great for the money.

Best bait for small bass
Try the kvd dreamshot on a dropshot rig. Use a small gamakatsu no. 1 dropshot hook, 3/16 oz clip on sinker. I catch small bass with this setup. A 4 inch roboworm is also good.

Wow. Nicely done.

Reliability of mid range (<$200) baitcasters
Tatula is in that price range. Long term reliability should be just as good as the upper end reels as long as you are in freshwater, imo. The more expensive reels have more technology, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will last longer. Just my opinion.

SLX DC vs Tatula SV TW
Yes, the tatula was smooth out of the box.

SLX DC vs Tatula SV TW
I have both reels. I love them both, but keep in mind that the tatula will make short casts better. It takes a little bit of time for the DC brake to kick in. It's great for bombing baits but not as good for short cast. So if you can only get one I would get the tatula Also, for what it's worth, I think my tatula has been smoother from day one. I've got about an extra year on my SLX DC, and it's starting to feel a bit geary.

Stradic FL 2500 vs 3000
Haha, I wouldn't call the certate Lt "midprice."

Victory Is Near
Thanks for that report Tom. I am thinking about picking up the 6'10" ML as a dedicated 1/15 oz ned rig rod. I currently use a Megabass Addermine for that purpose, which feels a bit overpowered for such a light bait. I can't really feel the bait with the Addermine. I have tossed this size ned rig on an ultralight rod before and loved that I could actually feel the bait. But I want more backbone so I am hoping that the St croix victory 6'10" will fit the bill - allowing me to get better feel without lacking backbone.

Best PORTABLE fishing rods?
I have the Abu ike travel rod. I think it is a bit tip heavy, and it is not the lightest rod around. But, it comes with two tips and a hard case, so I like it overall.

Excessive Epoxy on Tatula Rod
Did you buy it brick and mortar, or online? If from a physical store, I would just go exchange it if you haven't used it. Otherwise, not worth dealing with sending it back, imo.

slx dc
It's not really designed for the salt. Will it get splashed? I don't think the bearings would handle splashes.

Some cool baits...
Awesome. Bunch of Daiwa lures.

Weight of NFC X-Ray Blanks
This isn't an exact answer, but I have a kistler zbone which is built on the x-ray blank. I have the 7'1 light medium heavy model. I weighed it, and it came in at 3.9 oz. Unfortunately I don;t know which x-ray blank that zbone uses.
