  1. Just got done watching a Tactical Bassin video where Matt said the Keitech’s are bad swim jig trailers... that makes me feel better- just getting into his videos and blown away how much great info he gives...
  2. Everyone is using Keitechs for their swim trailers!! Why do I feel like I get no action on them!?
  3. I bought quite a few of the Keitech's to use as trailers, very disappointed.... tried both 3.3 and 3.8, trimmed skirts back, and got very little action out of them unless I completely burned them, which is a shame because they look great and have tons of colors and sizes.... I've gotten a much better action out of the 6th sense divine swimbait... Same here.... rarely am I replacing a trailer because it's too beat up to stay on the jig.
  4. I really like the dirty jigs, but TW had no sunfishy ones in stock so I tried these.... Awesome looking swim jig and great colors, but the screw lock is annoying.
  5. Thank you very much- I really needed that...
  6. I picked up a couple of the 6th sense swim jigs, and they have the screw lock keeper on it. What is the theory behind this? It can't actually screw into the bait, to me it's just tearing up more of the trailer trying to push it up on there and doesn't hold it nearly as well as a traditional hook type keeper. Why did they do this?
  7. I've gotta find some time one of these weekends to branch out a bit..... I don't know much about the area I'm in (5a/6) but I'd like to get up towards Wabasha more- Pepin is about a 50 minute drive for me. I'm also really interested in checking out pool 7 between Dresbach and lacrosse....that's right up the road and I've been watching some MLF/Bass Pro tour stuff from that section lately...
  8. I picked up some of these on my latest order. For those of you who use them, do you attach them to the split ring or remove the split ring?
  9. Appreciate it man- I think you already gave me all your good info over on Muskiefirst!!
  10. Something to keep in mind for river fishing- My go to is 3/8 oz, but I HAVE to carry a few 1/2 oz'ers because there are a few spots with stronger current that I like to hit...
  11. I agree- I'd add trolling to that too. Where is the accomplishment!?
  12. I've got a 7'3" Heavy action rod here that I was trying to find a use for- would seem to fit the bill for a frog rod. Looks like most specialty frog rods are 7'3"-7'4" and pretty thick. Doesn't something longer and bigger like this make it more difficult to "walk" the frog effectively. That's something I have trouble doing well even with a shorter MH rod, I'm worried I'll be making it even more difficult on myself to get the right action...
  13. Appreciate all the opinions- exact kind of stuff I was looking for. Very helpful!
  14. Thanks- that's helpful. I see them both as skirted baits with a vibrating/flashing blade, so they feel very similar to me...and I fish them similar.
  15. So I posted a similar topic a while back regarding swim jigs vs. spinnerbaits, but these baits seem to have even more in common. So once you've made the decision that a simple swim jig is too subtle a presentation, that you want some flash and vibration, how do you decide which one of these to tie on? I much prefer a bladed jig, so that's what I always reach for, but am I missing out on something? Do I even need to carry spinnerbaits? They were always a staple of mine before the bladed jig came about, but haven't used them much since then. Haven't really noticed any difference in productivity when going from one to the other and I'm really trying to simplify my decision making processes....
  16. I just ordered one of these- comes with 3 3600’s and looks like it may be able to hold a 4th. Granted, I just need it to carry my tackle from my house to the boat. I’d probably do with something different if it was for bank fishing and wearing a lot.
  17. I've moved away from them a bit since I don't do much traditional jigging/pitching and am more into the swim jigs- still have a few but I think if I had to pick ONE jig to use for everything I would go with ***. Fwiw, I haven't tried too many others..... Edit: Welp… I guess you'll never know!
  18. Wasn't aware- thanks. He said he had to go through the work of listing, selling, and reordering anything I just figured it'd be easier to keep it for a couple years! Edit- and the fact that he was concerned about resale when selecting color threw me off too!
  19. I know this is an older thread but just curious- why the new boat every year? I know pro's obviously need the latest tech and everything, but can't you just upgrade your fish finders/trolling motors and whatnot when necessary?
  20. I've always thought of myself as a solid, accurate caster. Some of the skipping stuff is well beyond a lot of amateurs. I was most intrigued seeing them in open water just flip it out there a LONG ways and keeping the lure like a foot off the water the whole time. I'd imagine that's done so the lure makes a quieter entry in the water but I hadn't ever really thought of that...
  21. Geez.... thankful to live where I do... I'm never out past sunset but would have never even thought of this being an issue.
  22. What is the advantage of them? Heavier weight in a smaller size?
  23. What’s the difference between the normal Jackhammer and the TG?
  24. Been eyeing a WP myself...what size did you go with? My must haves would be- strike king 1.5 shadow rap swim jig There are other things I like to have around, but I literally couldn’t be bothered to go fishing without these....
  25. Looking to get some opinions, what are some baits that every bass fisherman needs Crankbait: Jerkbait: Topwater: Soft Plastic: I know there are some baits I wouldn't even consider leaving the house without... what are yours?
