  1. I looked for a Tatula reel I knew I had for over a year. Pretty much tore apart my boat, looked through shelves at my parents dozens of times... It was maddening. My 7 year old called me one day and said he found it in grandma's glove box..... Apparently we were on a family vacation and it got a ridiculous case of backlash I didn't want to deal with, so I threw it in there until we got home....
  2. Definitely agree on USPS, they've been bad lately, but I've always at least seen the scan show up when it's dropped or picked up by the PO- at least after a week. I FINALLY got a hold of someone at TD and they said it was shipped, but that USPS isn't scanning rods until delivery so I should have it soon. We shall see....
  3. Smh…. I only ordered from them because I couldn't find the rod anywhere else in stock... lovely
  4. I've ordered quite a few things during Covid- tracking is slow and USPS has struggled lately, but they usually get the original scan right when they pick it up, especially after this much time. Their phone lines are closed, servicing via email only. I've sent them a couple already with no response...
  5. Ordered a rod from them on Saturday 7/18. Received notice that my package was getting ready to be shipped on Sunday 7/19 with a tracking number. As of today, tracking still shows "pre-shipment" and that it hasn't been picked up by USPS yet. Anyone else have issues?
  6. Feel like I HAVE to add these to my arsenal considering your name.... I considered doing that as well, just for fun and I’m in MN so yeah winters. What heads do you use for your swim jigs?
  7. Looked through every model on TW and couldn't find an orange-ish single or double tail grup anywhere. What are those!? Also, whats the paddle tail on the right, 2nd from the bottom!?
  8. Great info, I appreciate that. That's mostly what I do, I always start with my moving baits. Something skirted (swim jig, spinnerbait, chatterbait), crankbait, jerkbait. I don't get out for extended periods that often so by the time I make my way through those i'm usually out of time. On occasion I'll have a half hour to throw a frog or a jig, but I can count on one hand the number of time it's produced anything. It's also difficult for me to really fish how I want to, my 7 year old is with me bobber fishing for panfish and I'm just trying to find as much time to cast as I can and its tough to move around a lot. I was doing pretty good early, but lately I've felt like I've been wasting my time. Good to know others tend to go pretty random at times too......
  9. Is anyone familiar with Mississippi River pool 5a (or pool 5). Looking for somewhere different to launch the boat around there so I can find a few spots where the kids can catch some panfish and I might have a chance at a decent bass. Thanks in advance!
  10. So i started out the year pretty slow. When the water temp started to warm up I got a few nice fish. Now it's 80+ and I haven't been able to get anything. There's just so many options and so many variables it can get overwhelming... For some of the more experienced guys, are there any techniques you routinely go to in certain seasons or when a water temperature hits a certain number? Or anything you avoid in certain situations? For example, Jerkbaits I've heard of as a colder water bait- ie early and late. Is there a certain temp in the spring summer that you stop using them? What temp does it have to drop back down to for you to pick them up again? I've always heard cranks, swim jigs, spinnerbaits, etc are pretty much good year round, and those are my favorite things to throw, but I sense it's not the best option when it's boiling like this. How hot is too hot for some of these moving baits? What do you go to when it's really hot? I know it's a pretty broad questions, and I plan to dig around this site for more info as I know it's out there, but I wanted to get some first hand opinions on the matter.
  11. Hey thanks for mentioning this.... I tried throwing cranks on my aird-x 7' medium rod and it felt pretty great. I always leaned toward a MH because I felt these lures pulled so much, maybe I was just using too stiff of a rod? And I thought I was casting far before, whew those suckers fly on this thing.....
  12. Haven't thrown jerkbaits much over the years but used to have a lot of success with them was younger and wanted to get back into it... I went with a Aird-X 6'6" medium fast rod and a Daiwa CR80 7.5:1 reel. Brand new off ebay the combo was $100, pleasantly impressed with the reel....

Learn something new every day! That's all I've had success with, use it like a buzzbait never really pause.....

Solid rubber body with legs please......
  15. There's panfish everywhere- it's a very small lake.... so yes
  16. I've been trying to fish a Senko worm a bit lately and keep running into one problem- the darn thing is constantly getting tapped by all of the little panfish that are around. It's very difficult to a) fish it effectively when that is happening and b) know when to actually set the hook. Anyone else run into this?
  17. I just double checked and I paid $11 for 2nd day air. Are you ordering a rod or something that’s making it higher? I just had a bunch of lures. I was getting an 8/10 estimate for ground
  18. Picked up some of those as well they look nice. Always gravitate towards paddle tail types but my most productive by far has been an orange double tail mister twister on a bluegillish pattern jig...
  19. Was thinking the same- this is what I was looking for when I started this thread! Thanks! Hmm- I do have a bag of 4.3 I could throw on a jig and see how it works... 3/8 oz with a 3.8” is a pretty solid profile bait, I was leaning towards smaller more than anything. I got some Bass Assassin 3.5” today and like the size a little better than the 3.8, not sure how it swims tho...
  20. What are your favorite or most productive trailers for swim jigs? I've been trying the Keitech Fat Swing 3.8" a lot lately and not sure how much I like it. Feels like I have to reel too fast to get the tail going good.....
  21. Hold up... Y'all aren't setting the hook when your fishing with a crankbait? I know you can't pound em like you would a jig or something, but theres gotta be some sort of sweeping/jerking action? Right?
  22. Ground orders still slow- if you go over $50 and get the free shipping you can add 2-day for like $8 and that's legit..... I ordered on Sunday and it's coming today...
  23. That's good to know thanks..... the DT-6 seems to have more drag than the 2.5 or 1.5's Appreciate all the responses- I've realized I've got an option in my arsenal that might work (7' Aird-x medium) and I still have my Fenwick HMG that I had been using successfully for cranks. It broke, but I'm looking into a potential warranty on that.
  24. Interesting- a few guys here using a medium/ML light rod and looking at the specs they are lighter than anything I'd typically consider for this purpose. I have a 7' Aird-X Medium rod here that I was planning on sending back- maybe I'll give it a shot? I was close to pulling the trigger on that rod but reading the reviews it seems there are a lot of issues with bad guides and fraying line...
  25. I just got a new 4x4 Tacoma with a V6 for 29. Tows my 16 foot smokercraft great!
