  1. I didn't see anyone say they had any success with the white/red head Jitterbug. Anyone? I have an old one from about the early seventies. I honestly don't know if I've ever caught anything on it. For many years though I didn't fish. I put some red trebles on it this year and I'll try it more next season. Black at night has been my best producer.
  2. Sorry, my error. Baitcasting. I don't know what I want to spend on the reel. Nothing for a while, so maybe I can go a little better if I wait until spring.
  3. Finally scored a St Croix Avid, 6'6" M fast at Gander Mtn for $99.97. It was the only one of that model they had. Hope its as good as everyone says. Now...what reel :-/
  4. Catfish for me. Can't hold onto them, and they have a nasty tendency to swallow the hooks.
  5. BassPro has a screw in system for their own brand of rods. If you have any other brand, there is a rubber cap, that fits over the butt of the rod. I don't know if it comes with weights but i believe you can put as many quarters as need be to balance it. Another advantage... you'll never be broke! ;D http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16515_999034012_100000000_100004000_100-4-2
  6. Mostly Mepps, I have a lot of them. I have a few of the larger Joe's Flies, which have also been successful. Don't care for the rooster tails, I have trouble with the blades spinning. I use them for testing possible snags in a new location. If I loose it, I don't care.
  7. I am glad this topic came up. I have been looking at the Frogg Toggs but since I see some negative comments about them, I think I will keep looking. They did seem a little thin to me and I wondered about their durability.
  8. My local Dick's doesn't have any, and Gander Mtn. doesn't have them on sale. > I check weekly.
  9. Yep, I got it. > First one I ever bought, then I lost it several days later
  10. Brent, you should be able to retire after the order that I feel may be coming your way ;D ;D ;D
  11. I don't know that I'd go so far as to suggest that you need professional help...unless YOU feel you need it. There are a lot of people who do a lot worse things with a lot more money than you spend and I'm sure they have little or nothing to show for it. At least you have some tangible, useful products. If you have the money, if other areas of your life are not neglected (food, clothing, etc) and you enjoy the collecting aspect of fishing, as well as the actual fishing, do what makes you happy. You surely don't spend that kind of money every month. If you did, I think you'd have another problem, where to put it all. ;D

Used some this past summer, with success. First time, first cast, = bass. I was impressed. Got a nice northern on one as well.
  13. $6500 on tackle in 6 months What in the world do you guys do for a living?
  14. My wife's FAVORITE saying..... and it really does come true! They'll get theirs.
  15. PA = $22.00 Trout stamp + $9.00 Lake Erie stamp + $9.00 (combined $15.00) Non resident = $52.00 We dont call Pennsylvania "The Land of Taxes" for nothing >
  16. All together now.... "HI, JIM"
  17. The one thing I learned is... this is without a doubt, the greatest bass/fishing learning tool on the entire web. And thanks everyone for the help, tips, guides, and resources provided. I'm catching more fish and having more fun!
  18. I run my Revo on about 70% and it works well...most of the time. Last night, I got such a bad overrun, I had to cut away the line. Only time it has been that bad. I got some overruns trying to cast a F11 Rapala into the wind
  19. About 15 spinnerbaits, maybe a few more. Various colors, various weights, various blades. Hope that answers your question. ;D Seriously, like I said. A lot of different combos for different times of days, water conditions and what rod I feel like using them on.
  20. What about reaching through them to turn a hook when the fish is hooked in the gullet. Which will do the least damage?
  21. I caught my first bass on a Rapala yesterday. Actually, I caught 4 of them. Now I'm pumped. Maybe these things really do work. Caught 3 on an original silver floater and one on a jointed silver. 3 of the strikes came on the pause after a steady retrieve and a little light twitching. The other strike came as the lure hit the water. Wow, I'm newly excitied about Rapalas. None of the fish were big, but they weren't dinks, either.
  22. I actually have a shirt with the above graphics on it. ;D Truer words were never spoken. Now they want to toll I-80 and make everybody PAY to drive on a miserable road. Well, why not? It's gotta be right up there with the Pennsy turnpike and the N.E. Extension.
  23. Riddle: What's yellow and sleeps six??? Answer: PENNDOT truck ;D ;D ;D Think about it. Get yourself into the road construction business, build a road. As soon as you finish with it, several years later, the first section you put in needs rebuilt. When you finish that, the next section needs rebuilt, and so on and so on. When you finally finish rebuilding the road, the first section you rebuilt, needs re-rebuilt. PRESTO Instant career! ;D
