Best quickest knot(s)?
I tie the palomar alot as well, but if the lure/hook is too big to get the loop over comfortably, I tie a hangman's noose. The more pull, the tighter it gets. Never had one come undone.

The Slug-Go
Very first time I used a slug-go, on the very first cast, I caught a bass on an albino shad. I was impressed to say the least. I also nailed a pike in the river one day as well. I bought some of the rainbow trout color to try in the river for more pike, but haven't really had much opportunity to use them. I found they need to be rigged exactly as shown on the package and fished very, very slowly. I think they have incredible action. Anybody had any success with colors other than alewife or pearl? Tons of colors on their website but not too much selection in the stores. I've thought about the 9" size for some bigger fish.

Lets talk jig heads
The rounded painted kind, in varying fractions of an ounce. There are a multitude of colors out there. Are they necessary or just for show? Should I be sticking primarily with white, black and chartreuse? Should I match the color of the jig head to the color of the bait, ie: white head to white shad, or should I contrast it? I know the size and therefore weight of the head will be determined by how big my bait is, how much cover I may need to penetrate, rating on rod, etc., but the color choices are confusing. And what about unpainted. Do they work as well?

Amen to that. Taxes not necessarily too high. Waste too high.

The 50 Greatest Lures of All Time
I think you guys are being unfair. It doesn't say anything about the lures being in any specific order, ie. most popular, most fish, highest price, best (a highly objective opinion), etc. It just lists 50 of the best known in the sport of fishing. period.

Who Cares?
Huh? Is there some kind of a game today? Don't know (or care) anything about it.

Boy that's nice HPBB. I can't do that though :'( My wife thinks I have more than enough stuff now. If I start displaying it, she'll really have a fit.- Where do they find these people?

When my grandfather built his house (same one I grew up in) the neighborhood was so safe that people never locked doors. Now you don't want to go there, day or night. WTH happened??- Cabelas XML rods....CHEAP
Must be at your store, not listed as being on sale, on line.- Gander Mountain Rods?
Purchased their 7" MH Musky rod last year on sale for 39.99. Paired it with an Abu Ambassadeur round. Haven't used it yet but looking forward to it. Also picked up a 6' MH Guide Series spinning rod in 6' that I want to use in some fairly tight areas I fish along a river.- Favorite Brand of Crankbait?
Rapala. I've only owned one Norman in my life, worst running lure I ever had. Took a while to get it tuned... then I lost it, same day. >- What do letters on a ship mean?

In a former life, I owned a smoke shop. I smoked a lot of different brands over the years, but my all time favorite was the Royal Jamaican. I don't even know if they are still available. Te Amo was probably my second favorite. Royal J. was very mild. Te Amo, fuller, more body.- Would you drive this car?
Looks neat to me (as a toy) don't know whether I'd want one as my only vehicle. What I like most is the bio fuels concept. Necessity being the mother of invention, I'm sure new fuels are going to be developed in response to $100 a barrel oil. There is such a thing as pricing yourself out of the market.- Johnson Siver Minnow a lost lure??????/
I agree about the hooks. I bought one last season and it had the dullest hook I've ever seen. I've tried sharpening it but its its still not satisfactory. A long, long way from sticky sharp. I've looked at other packages but can't tell if all the hooks are that way or if I just got a bad one. Probably should have taken it back. - Building a rack for all my un-opened lures
