  1. That's just about the funniest thing I've ever seen. Remember guys, You Can't Fix Stupid! ;D ;D ;D
  2. I have a Zara Spook, and to be honest, I've never learned to use it. I have a bunch of odd baits and lures that I purchased and either didn't like or didn't learn how to work. I'm going to throw some of this stuff this year in some tough situations and if I loose it....oh well.
  3. Better balance when loaded. The slide and barrel seem to be a little top heavy because of the polymer frame. The cartridges balance it nicely. IMHO.
  4. I put in a woodburner when I built. Windows are open year round upstairs to get rid of excess heat. Coldest room on main floor gets about 67. Nice room to go into to escape the heat. Rest of main floor stays a toasty 70. I usually only burn it for extended periods when it is consistently cold, below 20. Otherwise house gets too warm. Thermostat stays on 68 any other time. Nice thing about it, wood is free!
  5. $3.199 Went to that price the same day the Texas refinery explosion happened. Didn't take 'em long, the pirates.
  6. I have an XD in 9mm. Not the sub compact, but still very nice and a comfortable weight. Fits my hand well and shoots very well.
  7. I didn't see it mentioned here, but I've always liked "Eight Men Out". I have several copies plus the book.
  8. When did you peek into my old tacklebox??? ;D You described it to a tee except it had 2 drawers. Still had it when I got reintroduced to fishing. I have since upgraded, just a bit. :
  9. You're kidding right?
  10. I'm sort of curious to know how and why a bass might be attracted to something like a coffee flavor. That's not something normally found in their environment. I don't know what's in most bass attractants but I would guess its something that mimics odors and tastes in the foods they normally consume. Wouldn't an unnatural taste or scent cause them to reject the bait? I've always read to watch such things as gas on your hands.
  11. OK now I get it. I could see where that would make a lot of top water commotion. Thanks!
  12. Whadya mean maybe? OSX FTW! Huh? Sorry, what do you mean?
  13. I watched one of the fishing shows yesterday (basically just a 30 minute infomercial for Strike King) and they were buzzing the RageTail Shad. I was having trouoble understanding how to rig it. Looked on Strike Kings web site but they weren't much clearer. No pictures, I need pictures.
  14. I saw them in the Basspro catalogue. Haven't used them but why not just take a little coffee along and pour some in the tube before you insert the jig. Might be worth a try, especially for those early morning bass that have trouble waking up. ;D
  15. Riot ;D ;D ;D
  16. Well, I need a new computer, but I'm not buying one as long as Vista is the operating system. Maybe I'll go Mac.
  17. Solution: Put the dogs in the house, chain the people outdoors.
  18. What color in the super shad raps do you find most effective. I picked up a firetiger for 6 bucks not long ago.
  19. Yep, the serrated part.
  20. Sadly, most of that is true until you get the hang of it, then it's easy. Voice of experience here. Cutting claws isn't a whole lot better. I got so I'm real fast, kinda like a civil war surgeon that did amputations with no anesthetic. ;D
  21. Windage and elevation ;D ;D ;D
  22. Your weather in RI must be a result of global warming 'cause it isn't anything remotely resembling spring in western PA. 7 degree mornings do not contribute towards ice out. >
  23. Minimum ankle high waterproof boots, at all times, when shore fishing. Sturdy, no slippage on rocks, protects the ankles from a multitude of injuries, keeps the feet dry.
  24. I used to wear them alot, but feet got wider and they just didn't fit anymore. Loved 'em though. I had Tony Lamas in lizard and antelope, Justin's in snake, another pair in bullhide. Talk about tough leather. You got some nice boots there Robert.
  25. Most anything from McDonald's.
