  1. I guess no one has used them much :-/, although all the small buckets ($19.99) of 3" minnows were sold. They did have leeches, and 4" smelt, and other minnows, but I wasn't about to invest $40 for a big bucket.
  2. Mine aren't reacting quite like I thought. Seem to be getting some rolling and spinning. They aren't riding up on top of the water flat. If they are supposed to imitate a dying shad, I don't think I've ever seen a dying shad lying on its side going full tilt across the water. If I retrieve it slow, It sinks more than I thought it should and rolls. I rigged it like it's suggested, making sure the hook is centered. I can see that its going to require a tremendous hook set to pull that hook through the plastic and into the fish. Frankly, kinda disappointed.

Have any of you tried this bait? I was thinking of the minnows, not necessarily for bass, but more for crappie. Any results to report? If so, how are you rigging it and using it?
  4. At the much smaller pond I fish, I got a bass, a crappie and a bluegill last evening, all on a #5 floating Rapala. No clue why the bluegill hit it, he wasn't that big and there was no way he was going to get it down his throat. Usually they pick at the plastics as I get them closer to shore, but never get hooked. Now live bait is another story. Its a constant rebaiting of the hook.
  5. I don't like them, I can't get them to spin either. I do like Mepps and Joe's Flies. Caught quite a few bass out of our local pond on the fire tiger Joes Flies. Not enough experience with Blue Fox and I never have used the PanterMartin.
  6. George Thorogood?
  7. I posted this link a while back on a previous thread about gas prices. http://www.californiagasprices.com/price_by_county.aspx
  8. Pay off your credit cards.
  9. That should be listed under the "not in my job description" category. ;D
  10. I didn't notice it is western PA.
  11. I check the order before exiting the drive thru, but then I have to go inside to get the order corrected, which I could have done in the first place. I never worked in fast food, but IMO, I wonder if the problem is that the worker not only has to take the order but is also greeting the previous customer, making change and delivering the order, all the while trying to take your order. That would make it difficult for anybody. Many restaurants used to have 2 operational windows, the first where the order was taken and paid for and the second for pickup. Now, much of it is done at 1 window, by one employee. Hire the second employee. It shouldn't be too difficult to justify that employees wages by creating satisfied, returning customers and saving wasted food from incorrect orders. Just my opinion.
  12. Lets see, I haven't been to McDonalds for well over a year. Taco Bell a little more often, usually for my son, but order is frequently screwed up. Burger King, never go there. Order is usually wrong and takes forever to get. I gave up on them. Sam is right, eat at home! I make better tacos then TB, anyway! 8-)
  13. What LLS said, but I do occasionally use a swivel. I only use the interlock kind or those with the round end. I think the kind that comes to a sharp angle at the end (don't know what their name is) does inhibit the action of the rapala. The rapala knot is definitely the way to go though.

  15. I'm not a professional mechanic or carpenter, so I don't make my living with tools but, I started buying Craftsman tools when I was 16, some 40+ years ago. I have only ever had to take 1 tool back, an allen wrench that I broke because I had an adjustable wrench on it for more leverage. No questions asked. Not bad in my opinion. I don't use them much any more, don't/can't work on cars as much as I used to, and I don't ride motorcycles any more, but they're there when I need them.
  16. Right, and nobody cares that it isn't ;D
  17. Why not just cut the weed guards off? I've considering doing just that, (haven't gotten around to it)
  18. Lost a Rattlin' Rapala and a Mepps inline so far this year. >
  19. Medium rare, cajun seasoning
  20. What caliber is that, Catt? Nevermind, .44mag. I didn't see the Super Blackhawk. Reason I asked, I have a Blackhawk .30 Carbine which I really like but like yours, too hard to conceal.
  21. Yeh, I carry, not all the time but when I go somewhere remote or late at night. Springfield XD 9mm or Sig 229 .40. I also have a Colt Det. Spec. I bought years ago when Colt would sell to everyday folks. I stopped in at my local gun shop the other day and got to talking with the owner about carry in other states. PA doesn't have reciprocity with very many other states, including Ohio, which is right next door. I was told however that one can take the required course from a Utah certified instructor, apply for a Utah permit, (you do NOT have to be a resident of Utah) and carry in 31 other states that have reciprocity with Utah. I believe the license is $59 plus the instructors fee, then renewal is only $10 every 5 years. I don't often travel to too many other states, but that sure would save some hassle when I do. Of course, you must abide by Utah's carry laws.
  22. Well, I thought I'd seen it all with the fishing pen. Now you can buy the fishing buddy boat which operates by remote control. It apparently "trolls" a hook and when a fish is on, you simply steer the boat back to you and lift it from the water, fish and all. Love to see a big bass get a hold of one of these. ;D What won't they think of next : http://www.sportsauthority.com/sm-aviva-fishin-buddy-remote-control-boat-as-seen-on-tv--pi-3015977.html
