  1. Hello everyone! I am thinking of getting the 765 for flipping. The rod weighs 3.7oz on their website. That’s too light to be true. Can someone confirm please.
  2. I just checked. There will be two tournaments tomorrow, nothing today. It’s the California delta. That was what I thought of myself when he screamed at us.
  3. That’s exactly what happened. Anyway, I think I got this figured out. I and my friend are new to boat fishing. When the other boat was mad at us, I thought there were some unwritten rules that we were not aware of.
  4. this is literally what happened lol Our boat was only trolling. There was no wake or whatsoever. In an area like that, I couldn’t imagine what could have happened that ticked him off. Anyway, we left the area to avoid further conflict.
  5. I was fishing with my buddy today on his boat, and we were about to hit the end of a cove. There was another angler at the end of the cove fishing towards us on the same side of the bank. We kinda went behind him to the other side, the bank that the other angler had already fished. Basically we switched sides. Now we were fishing back to back with each other and about 40 feet apart, casting the opposite direction of course. All of sudden he was mad and asked “what are you doing and why are you fishing behind me”. Did we do something wrong there? I am kinda confused.
  6. No it doesn’t work for shimano . Daiwa yes.
  7. Do you still have this rod? How much does it weigh? how do you rate its sensitivity?
  8. Maybe I should say the high speed curado is nosier, which makes it less smooth to me. The low speed reel does feel quieter/smoother and gives me an overall better feel.
  9. Can any reel experts confirm slow gear ratio reels are smoother? I have a 6.2:1 and a 8.1:1 curado mgl 150. The 6.2:1 is definitely smoother than the 8.1:1. The difference is very noticeable. I don’t want to believe the 8.1:1 is a lemon
  10. Am I too late to the party? I don’t see any discount ??‍♂️
  11. Correct, no sound when the side plate is facing up.
  12. Anyone of you guys have this noise? I did an exchange, but it has the same noise. No noise when I reel it at normal speed though.
  13. I have a brand new Lew’s Tournament Pro. It’s makes a noise at the end of a free spin and when I reel it very slowly. I did a exchange, the new one does the same thing. When I reel it at a normal speed, no noise though. Anyone have the same experience with a reel? Is this normal? attached a link.
  14. I just got the reel in the mail today and spooled it with 20lb powerpro. I had huge expectations for this reel given all the hypes from the internet. However, I am not impressed at all. Its by no means a bad reel. It’s smoother and quieter than SLX, but Its just by a little bit. I would actually rate them the same in terms of smoothness because I am not able to tell which reel I am holding if am blindfolded. I haven’t tested the brakes and it’s casting performance yet. I also own the Daiwa Tatula SV and Fuego SV, the Lew’s tournament mp and teams lew’s lite. I would rate their smoothness in the order below. 1. Lew’s Team lew’s lite 2. Lew’s Tournament MP 3. Shimano Curado MGL 150 4. Daiwa Fuego SV 5. Daiwa Tatula SV I am not brand loyal at all, if anything I am bias towards Shimano because of their spinning reels, but Lew’s really surprised me. They cast the furthest, and very easy to dial in. They handle light bait very well too. What more can I ask? Honestly I wouldn’t even want to try the lew’s if they weren’t on sale. After 2 months I don’t have anything bad to say about them. I also have the lew’s tournament pro on the way. As to durability, only time will tell. having said that the curado mgl 150 is not the best reel under$200, at least not to me. I hope it will change my mind after I test it on the water.
  15. Looks like the 7’3MHF and the 7’3HXF are very similar rods. Anyone have experience with both?
  16. Excuse me for hijacking the thread. I have a question for @Boomstick @Cody28who have handled both the St croix victory 7’3MHF and the HXF. How do you compare the power and action between the two rods. It’s very confusing looking at their ratings. Thanks!
  17. So what did you end up doing for trolling motor?
  18. What’s weight of the rod?
  19. So I have replaced the line roller, the Bering spacers, and washers. The grinding noise still presents. what else can cause the noise? Please help.
  20. So I broke my dx703c. I want to use the warranty to get a dropshot rod instead. Which one would you pick between the two? Why? It would be great if it is your first hand experience! Is it true that the dx702sf fishes lighter like a 1.5 in comparison to the 742? I am pretty obsessed with the weights and balance of a rod. I have the of the weight 742, which is about 4.5oz. What is the weight of the 702sf? Do they balance the same? I really appreciate your input!
  21. Very true. But the dobyns are more comfortable than the st croixs to me. I was torn between rod comfort and sensitivity. I have bought and tried a lot of the $150-300 range rods from Daiwa Tatula and the elites, shimano zodias, st croix avids, and the dobyns. I am never brand loyal, but I find myself keeping all the dobyns rods from the fury to the extreme simply because they are the most comfortable to fish with among the rods I have tried. Having said that, a comfortable rod is more important to me. Not that the dobyns are not sensitive, they are sensitive enough.
  22. which version of the the Tatula is yours that weighs 3.4oz?
  23. I know. I didn’t use to hold it like that. I used to have my middle finger on the trigger, but then I found out that holding it with my pinky on the trigger feels less tip heavy lol some combos balance exactly at that point. How do hold yours?
