And the beat goes on...
This isn't always exact, but bass in darker water tend to be darker, and bass in lighter water tend to be lighter. Bass around rocks and sand tend to be lighter, and bass pulled out of thick, heavy vegetation can be almost black. Winter, cold water bass are often almost white. Their colors change based on season and location. But yeah, it's definitely crawfish and isn't related to season (sarcasm).

Sk Red Eye Shads Not Running Right (Help!)
They run sideways for me too. I've given up on them. I swear people who buy them and love them must be getting the special batches (joking, but I don't get it, I never get lucky and get a good one).

Bass coming off swimbait top hook
I've used those baits and they're total bass catchers, but the hooks are an abomination. That's your issue.

Need help finding walk dog rod
Yeah that's kind of how it works around here and other places like here when someone asks for a rod recommendation. No clue where to start without knowing how much someone is or isn't willing to spend.

Opinions on this spinning rod for jerkbaits
If you can wait, that awesome blue and silver Legalis that will match it comes out this spring according to TW.

Lews KVD fishing reels.
I like my KVD reels better than my MP so far honestly. Thanks, but it's ok. "It is what it is." I almost exclusively use Lew's casting reels because I love how they feel, but go with other options for spinning reels. I knew what I could be getting myself into when I got a Lews spinning reel. I don't know why they can't figure this out. I'd say it's a lot like the opposite of Pflueger: great spinning, subpar casting.

Lews KVD fishing reels.
It lays line so bad that it's basically a trash can, but it would suck at that too. I'm all for Lew's casting reels, but spinning has always left a lot to be desired. I thought surely this time will be different. Nope. Putrid.

Lews KVD fishing reels.
He's with Lew's now. I have 2 of the casting reels and 1 of the spinning reels. The casting reels are really good. After having been out with the spinning reel twice now, it's straight trash tough.

Rod guide out of alignment. How much of a problem if at all?
Which ones are you thinking are off? The 3rd one definitely is, but I can't tell if the first or second are or whether the third guide is creating an optical illusion. Another look Oh and don't be fooled. She puts stupid crap everywhere as you can see in the background. It's only a problem when I leave something like a couple papers on a table.

A scratch on a reel takes an hour off my life.

Rod guide out of alignment. How much of a problem if at all?
It's not bad and I've see worse, but as a paying customer it doesn't make me happy. I wouldn't knowingly choose a rod like this. I got it from TW, but unfortunately my fiancee tossed the statement and return label because I left them on the table. I think it's the 3rd guide up from the reel. Will this cause me any trouble? Will casting distance stuffer? Will I ever even notice it performance wise? I do want to return it, but not at a cost to me now that my return label is gone if it isn't going to be something that impacts performance. If it's just a cosmetic issue at most then I'll keep the $30+ it takes to ship it back, but if it can cause a performance issue I'll just eat it. I tried my best with the camera. The rod is a Fury.

First cast jinx?
The first cast catch "jinx" isn't anymore real than the universe caring that you have your lucky underwear on to determine your sports teams success (as if you're the one guy in the world who dictates this and, of all things, based on a clothing option). It's not real. At all.

Store shelves are still well stocked, but I'm noticing online retailers are quickly finding themselves backordered on a lot of stuff, from gear to baits.

Spinning rods
I feel like if you're going truly under $100, and not maxing that budget out, you have to go with the Dobyns Colt or Daiwa Aird-X.

Best 3-4 rod setup
If he would have said somewhere south I'd have swapped the 702SF for a 703SF and the 705CB for a 735C.
