i am in a spinnerbait and chatterbait slump for 3 weeks now. Yesterday it was gettin late and dark so i put on a lure i never use, the Storm wild eye walleye and the storm wild eye pike and caught 2 good fightin bass, one on each lure in the last 15 minutes of the day. I will probably start using these 2 baits more now especially since i bought and used them over a year ago and caught fish with them but they kept gettin buried in the back of the box untill i needed to pull a rabbit out of my hat yesterday and said what the heck.

every other day just comes to fast for me to do a workout. I give my body 3 to 4 days rest in the summer between workouts and 2 days rest in the winter as i am less active so i step it up. At 60 i do yoga stretching every morning because i have had 2 back surgeries, 1 neck surgery, 3 shoulder, 2 elbow and 1 knee surgery. The stretching takes an hour but it has taken away all the lingering pains from my surgeries and i must do this every morning or i mentally will feel bad and physically i will feel off. It took me years to get the right stretches down to a routine that works. Its like i had to reverse engineer my body and build a better one and keep it in top shape, no different than maintaing your boat or car to keep it running smooth.

i have a workout routine but no way near what you do. What do you do to motivate yourself on the days you dont feel like workin out but know you need to?

when i was in high school we got a room during the basketball tournement so we could hangout and party. I am not proud of what i did that night but i did it. I was drinking rum and cokes and had to many, i then ate a whopper hamburger and minutes later while gettin ice out of the hallway ice machine i hurled up that hamberger and everything else right into the ice machine. End of story.

went back to same lake we were at the other day where wife caught 25 bass. Well today starting at the same time 4 pm she only got 4 bass, 1 northern and 8 sunnies, we kept the sunnies. She caught the bass on square bill crank when the sun was going away same with the northern and the sunnies on a gulp minnow. My day started with a spinner and for the 3rd week in a row nothing would touch the spinner or chatterbait. I tried different jerk baits and nothing today. Then 8 inch berkley kingtail on a ewg keel hook dragging it around and nothing. So i put on the pad crasher frog and finally caught a bass and then nothing after trying for an hour more. Finally with the darkness upon us i said what the heck and put on a bait i rarely ever look at, the Storm wild eye live pike and tossed it out and wham caught a 3 lber and that boy was pullin hard for the weeds so got him in and then nothing so i again went to another lure i dont look at. The Storm wild eye live walleye which is bigger than the pike wild eye and bam it got hit and got another 3.5 and then nothing more. The mosquitos started to come out and play so packed up fast and hit the road at 9.50 pm and arrived home 11.00.

what makes it so special and different from the other president models?

do some finger stretches, bend back tuck forward easy to do when sittin and watchin tv.

big horse flies are they the same as a deer fly? Anyway the horse flies are bad in north dakota but arount detroit lakes no problem with any flies only ticks and mosquitos. this is what our drill instructor told us to do in bootcamp if we ever got the crabs. He also said to put diesel fuel or gas on.

huge carp in the culvert we were fishing the other day, we counted 6 of them just swimming around in pairs 10-15 feet in front of us. Wife caught 25 bass and 4 panfish with these huge carp and i also caught my share so they arnt a problem here.

the pike here in detroit lakes mn area have gone silent for the past 2 weeks, even the little ones have only grabbed my lure twice which is fine with me. The lakes where i usually catch them are very low and from the bank and wading they must be a bit farther out than i can reach and thats fine with me.

same here my gaitor is useless against skeeters as they were pokin me all over my face the other evening so we had to pack up a leave. Now here is what i did when i was stationed in Rosy Roads Puerto Rico, the barracks we lived in was no aircon, open bay, open windows, all we had was a fan to blow on us and the skeeters were bad. When it was time to hit the rack what i did was to take a clean pair of underwear and spray them good with OFF repellant and then put them over my head because the skeeters were headhunters and ankle biters. I also sprayed my ankles down good and had the fan on high blowing from my feet up. So i was thinkn maybe i should spray my gaitor down with OFF real good so i can continue to fish past 10.00pm. I wear a thick jacket to ward off the skeeters so its the face and hands that get it the worst.

how is it when the skeeters come out in force?

i bought a wallmart gaitor but dont remember the brand, it cost $9.99. It was a one size fits all as most i have seen are that way. I have a small noggin but i must say it fits great, very comfortable. I would guess it maybe uncomfortable for folks with big noggins and beards.

berkley red kingtails on a 3/8 oz keel xwg spiral lock hook so i can drag it and yoyo it in the weeds or i put it on a neko rig hook with wire cage guard and neko hook it weightless and the action even makes me want to jump in and eat it.

i find frog fishing very relaxing, at times i will find a rock or stump to sit on while my frog is sitting on a lilly pad and then i give him a little pull and he is in the water waitin calmy just as i am.

My wife is a tough fisherwoman, just the other day she caught 25 bass in 5 1/2 hrs standing in the same spot. When she catches anything under 4 lbs she says aw just another small one?.

i caught a bunch of bass the last 2 weeks on different lures trying to keep it interesting that way so i feel i accomplished something. It gets old catching 3 lbers, a 4.5 and up gets me excited reeling it in thinking it may break my pb of 6. Now a days i want a big one over 6 so i go searching with waders where others dont and throwing different lures and it is then challenging to myself.

i have alot of pad crashers and i have been using the black the most so i took a marker and made some of the green frogs with white bottoms into black bottoms. I have been told to use white bottom on sunny days and black on darker cloudy days and into the evening. Anyone go by this or do ya just throw any color anytime?

$100.00 reels pflueger and $80.00 rods ugly stick carbon are working well for me. I use a $15.00 walmart shakesspear combo for my panfish setup and using a hose clamp to hold the reel on.

i really like using the buff this season but last night when the skeeters came out the buff was no help as they were poking away at my face. I may need a bee mask next.

where do you get these hair bands and how do you use them? talked to the wife and we may go back to this spot just to catch sunnies and gills using gulp minnows for a good fish dinner. Eating my nemesis.

i have to agree with this, my wife was fishing the same culvert and she was using tr and had no problem and even caught 14 bass on 1 senko before she had to put another one on. Then she even got tired working the tr so she put a bobber on it and ended the day with 25 bass and 2 big blue gills and 2 big sunnies caught on the tr. These sunnies she caught were big and fat and hungry getting caught on a tr with a 4/0 ewg hook. My o-rings are vmc new but they slide on so easy with my fingers so i punched through the senko skin just a bit also but maybe not enough. Next time the double o-ring crossed i may try also the shrink wrap or just do as my wife and use a bobber ? on the tr or just abandon the wackey alltogether agreed yeah i agree, i got so mad at losing the senkos it became me wanting instant satisfaction to nail the culprit that i immediately put on the other senkos, white, blue, watermellon, orange and then even changing to a circle hook all to get swiped in a minute of hitting the water.

any ideas? here is the skinny. I was using a 3/0 worm hook with a wire cage weed guard, hooked up a senko using the o-ring and hooked it also through the worm wacky rig style, threw it out and felt 2-3 tugs and it was gone. Hooked up 3 more worms and same thing all within 10 minutes or less. Then i thought to out smart the whatever it was and put on a circle hook with wire cage which i have never had problems with wire cages before a 3/0 wrig and tossed it out to same spot and it happened again 2 times in a row minutes apart. Now all day there were 4 huge carp hanging around the culvert area, also a snapping turtle, could i have been robbed by the carp or the turtle? I have always used wire cage hooks and caught bass as i did tonite but in this one spot where i tossed my wrig i got robbed and all that was left was the darn o-ring every time. How did the creature suck or bite that worm off, anyone have this experience with the wr?
