Last year I blew it. I forgot to make reservations for my wife’s October birthday. I almost blew it again. This place takes reservations 60 days out. I got in at 40 days. Last year I was last minute and NOPE. So literally. “Do you remember?” Not usually, but I did this year I was consumed with my new rabid love of chasing bass. SEPTEMBER! I did well last year. on a EWF note. We saw a tribute band that blindfolded felt like the original group. Such a fun song.

i think the only fast track is to fish with friends. if one of your friends is a bass pro..even better. i like how 3 guys can work together for figure things out..try different baits and techinques until one finds the silver bullet. then..game on. at least for the moment. other than that, i think youtube helped me.

progress. it aint for the faint of heart. i read a book about the automobile. in 1915 you know what the leading cause for transitioning to the horse-less carriage? the pollution. in this case: horse crap. they didnt have a good way to handle the monumental load of horse dung. enter the internal combustion engine. i imagine a bunch of OG's sitting around with straw clench in their teeth bemoaning the new fangle coach..."I'd take my horse carriage any ol day of the week! where are they going to get all this Gasoline stuff?" now? while i hesitate to say its the pollution again, it is certianly one of the culprits. sure as it stands our power grid is inadequate. but the EV movement is a multi faceted thing. they will have to fix the power source i suppose. i'll probably have my DL taken from my decripit butt by then anyways. i'll be sitting in a driverless car anyways. whippersnappers!! oh..i am waitlisted on the Cybertruck. sure it looks like a doorstop, but yea. hoping it has the range to get me and my kayak to some distant lakes..like New Melones. and back of course. in the meantime i think a hybrid Tacoma coming out 2024 might get my money instead.

thats how i tried to explain it to him. i suppose he thinks: if he has a bad day, at least it is at an easy access nearby lake. i like to go and explore. half the battle is just going. showing up. now i know what to give him for Christmas. they should do a fishing theme magic eight ball.

my friend wont go fishing with me much anymore. he said, "i only want to go if i know the bass are biting". i feel like, "What fun is that?". okay, lots of fun. sure. but i like taking some chances. i wish gas prices were more budget friendly but it is what it is. (spanish lesson: if you spell S.O.C.K.S - you pretty much said "it is what it is" in spanish..hahah) i think i get frustrated with tough bass fishing, but i learn stuff. tough lakes and rivers make me a better fisherman i hope. i like to go to new lakes as well as lake i got skunked at to see if i can somehow crack the code. eventually, i will put it together. you?

i agree. my big game, off the grid hunts are behind me. like a hobby car project, it just doenst seem fun anymore. but a fly in camp would be awesome. landing a plane on an alpine lake would probably curb my need to touch down on an aircraft carrier. it is at least attainable.

my most epic backlashes have been on my DC reel. i look down and have that sinking, "oh-o!" feeling. i've backlashed ALL my reels at one time or another. not sure if the DC is even less at this point. i still have to do my part. those guys with those youtube vids where they cast and never thumb the spool? that aint me.

totally get it. you like a higher production value. understandable I like old films. they dont have high production value. no WOW factor. they rely totally on a good story line. I have taken to watching Scandinavian detective stories. they also rely on a great storyline. I love them.

you miss understand. I Electric Mountain bike just assists you. you have a 30 mile range or so.but if you dial it to 100% assist that goes down. you spin just to spin, but the motor does all the work. you eat up your battery. you can dial it so you have to provide some input. say you feel like your pedaling on flat ground, but the with the motor you are ripping up steep hills. you dont generate electricity with the pedals. you just pick how much assist you want.

I kinda have a 5-7 ingredients maximum. I lose interest if I have a huge ingredients shopping list.

I might move next door to some poor Tennessee guys. haha.. I love this State, but no State income tax would be kinda nice. I do assume my property taxes would go up. no free lunch.

i think i can sing the songs in White Christmas. okay movie but my wife makes me watch it every Dec. i just Remembered one. Sky Riders. my dad saw the movie and immediately came home, picked me up and took me to see it again. i am gonna find it and watch it again for my pops. i bet i was just full of stupid questions. i was 8 maybe.

she thinks she can live there. she said it's green and wet. lots of water. no water saving shower heads in her bathroom. haha she already googled earth a bunch of fishing spots for me. it does looks good. NOW. i reminded her about winter. shoveling snow, long winters,.. she got all caught up with how cute the homes were, and what they cost. personally i can live anywhere. my dad said he only needs three things. 1. good job 2. good friends, 3. the love of a good woman. i think he was onto something. but my dad never shoveled snow.
