i dont remember Holleys being that bad. you had that port hole that allows you to set the bowl levels perfectly, and the jets are easily sized. honestly, my friend Carl did it in his sleep and did mine most times. i had gasket cleaning duty.

i am friends with a Toyota Truck engineer. he thinks the reason the old Toyota motors are so ridicously long-lived is because they were so under-stressed. take that sluggish big motor in the FJ80 as an example. he is retiring and very curious how the new motors where they squeeze more from less are gonna last.

dang. i didnt pay attention to water temps lately. mainly because my FF sucks and reads 65 degs 100% of the time.

i tried. i spent my EB money on fishing stuff. in general, it is the act of blowing leaves that bothers me. i need an electric blower badly. i like it for preblowing excess water off my washed car before towel drying. and it is the best way for me to clean my garage.

the sound of a leaf blower is 100x worse when I am holding the leaf blower.

i went Sandhill crane hunting with a guy with the Ecoboost ford. the bigger motor according to him. it was PEPPY! he said it got awesome MPG unloaded but it got awful anytime he towed anything.

i love gas for cooking. however, my asthma is worsening, and everyone on my medical side tells me a gas range is no bueno. i am hoping to play the long game in life :D. i will use the CI outdoors where there is ventilation for days. i already upgraded my elec box and service. step one is done. now to keep saving $$.

what was the problem? my best carb rebuild was in front of a janky autoparts/grocery store in some backwoods town in TEX. someone in our caravan to deer camp came up limp. I used a few screwdrivers, and my leatherman, and a can of carb spray. someone used foil as a "helicoil" for the bolt that holds down the air filter. the foil came apart and got stuck in the main jets. it ran like a champ!! we never saw a deer probably because everything smelled like gas. hahah.. that is a difficult carb to rebuild. yeeshs...any quadrajet...yuck.

Yea. Going to a glass top soon. Store says cast iron will work, but I’m not believing it. I have outdoor burners I use all the time to keep my kitchen clean.

20 years ago i met dude with a wife that clearly “drew a line in the sand”. It was literally, “it’s me or the pans” the guy had an obsession. He had a barn full of vintage pans. I bought two for $40. One is unmarked, the other is a small logo Griswold. He told me small logo pans are not that desirable. Pfft! Can I cook with it? I never made it a hobby, and I never shopped for other pans. I cleaned and seasoned them and put them thru the paces of a crazy home kitchen. I love these things. Best tortilla warmers ever. I sear meats with them beautifully. I’ll take them car camping 100%. I am about to convert to an electric stove. Induction. I can use them, but I can’t imagine the same experience. you all still going old school with cast iron? Or is it stainless or non stick for you?

6:30 am. getting ready for a work meeting at 7:00, so i am putting on pants. its so dark out! all my house lights are on as i am putzing around my house, doing my morning ablutions. i wont largemouth bass fish (next) until mid OCT. by then it will be VERY dark around here. we got our first rainstorm last night, and it feels good. as it drizzles, the odds of a wildfire go way down. FALL is here!! i have to wear a light jacket now. this means i have to wear a jacket, pack it up, fly to the equator, and when i get home, wish i had a heavier jacket!! 2 years ago, my hobby as a bass fishing kayaker was solidified mid OCT, when i found a school of 3lb+ bass in 12 feet of water that was willing to annilate my dropshot worm. it was the funnest day in my LMB fishing memory. therefore, i love fall bass fishing. looking for a repeat of that day. i get to wear my waterproof kayak pants, since they have been too warm for the past few months, and i have to pack a jacket fishing, a beanie. it is the best time to be on the water. i love FALL. welcome to fall people. Christmas stuff is at our stores already. ridiculous. lets go fishing.

rubber nets have more resistance in the water. at least for me. i am a hot mess trying to chase a fast moving fish, hoping to escape.

i love this description. my friend once got his bass boat washed up on the riprap a bit, and it was proped up by his trolling motor staff. He hates the wake-boats.
