6:30 am.  getting ready for a work meeting at 7:00, so i am putting on pants.  :D

its so dark out!  all my house lights are on as i am putzing around my house, doing my morning ablutions.  i wont largemouth bass fish (next) until mid OCT.  by then it will be VERY dark around here.  we got our first rainstorm last night, and it feels good.  as it drizzles, the odds of a wildfire go way down.

FALL is here!!  i have to wear a light jacket now.   this means i have to wear a jacket, pack it up, fly to the equator, and when i get home, wish i had a heavier jacket!!

2 years ago, my hobby as a bass fishing kayaker was solidified mid OCT, when i found a school of 3lb+ bass in 12 feet of water that was willing to annilate my dropshot worm.  it was the funnest day in my LMB fishing memory.  therefore, i love fall bass fishing.  looking for a repeat of that day.  i get to wear my waterproof kayak pants, since they have been too warm for the past few months, and i have to pack a jacket fishing, a beanie.  it is the best time to be on the water.

i love FALL.  welcome to fall people.  Christmas stuff is at our stores already.  ridiculous.  lets go fishing.

We're not quite in the jacket stage yet, but we're getting there. Leaves are slowly starting to turn, and night temps cooling a little. I love fall also.

Calendar says fall here too, but weather is still summer.  Thunderstorms and 80+ degrees is summer.

Leaves!  Let’s not ruin the moment @Mobasser!   I hate cleaning leaves!   Hahaha.

At what water temp do you guys consider “fall fishing” to be in full swing? I’m in NY and I’ve heard guys up here say mid 50s… but we’re still like 15 degrees above that.

The air is getting colder, but the water hasn’t caught up yet.

You’d be shocked how accurate you can get by just sticking your paw in the water . I always try to guess before I look and it’s not hard to get a feel for , bout like walking outside and guessing

If you look at the temperatures here, not too too different from summer. It is a good bit cooler, but that's only cuz low 90s are not low 100s. Night temps have fallen about the same amount. Weather is very stable at the moment but we did have some storms come through.

What does all this mean? I think a good portion fish have started to move up some, with a good portion remaining deep. Sort of a pick your poison. I absolutely think there are resident deep fish that will remain in 30ft +/- through the fall. Most noticeable change to the fish though is probably the shorter daylight hours.

I can pick whatever I want to do. I can fish dirt shallow all the way out to 30ft or more, night or day. Such is the nature of this clear water beast.
