  1. FG is the zhasizzle of knots. i've taken pics of some of my FG knots! sadly, i have had a few fail due to my lack of skills finishing them. but i just got my new and updated prescription glasses and i can see tiny things again. (thingy joke would be too easy folks...save it :D) but honestly, my Alberto is FG (friggen Good) as well. WOW..."thingy?!!" the profanity algorithm doesnt like the word my doctor uses to describe the thing. hahahhahhahah..
  2. @volzfan59good luck. I’ll try mine next weekend.
  3. Yoga pants is the best color name ever.
  4. Not even a mosquito “bite”? Sorry. Too soon?
  5. I rarely if ever fish with black plastics. I just ordered some to try. Various creatures in black. Mainly because the usual colors I like were sold out, but black? 10 feet down, there isn’t much light. Black probably stands out in contrast, right? black?
  6. I don’t pick up lures. I never find any. Maybe in trees way up.
  7. Im getting older now, and I kinda quit worrying about it. But I do notice. I have one in my group that will reach out for places and techniques to catch fish. He’s a teacher, so he gets summers off. He fished a lot at a local lake and gathered great intel. He still reaches out for advice, but when we ask….silence. Haha. if we ask, he actually replies with a pic of a good bass and, “oh, they’re out there!” So funny. He is an athlete, so he has a natural competition spirit. I like him a lot, and I know what I’m getting. But I’m holding back some. Shhhh.
  8. Your comment about distorted lead bullets weights is spot on. No big if you peg, but I never peg anymore. on the CA Delta, I sometimes use them because I snag often.
  9. To feel like a rookie all over again, I just need to visit a new body of water. blam! Baby-talk.
  10. Probably why I didn’t catch that many fish. I just kinda committed to fishing bottom contact to get the new rod some slime. I paired it with a Bantam. Line is 14Lb Sniper. My first cast in the dark was a backlash. Oops. iPhone flashlight, and I cleared it without drama. I’ll talk about bantam when it gets more use. the Rod. Heftier than what I imagined. (It ain’t no X-bites where it feels like “I’m gonna break this thing”) It feels fast. Accuracy casting calibration was needed but I homed in quickly. I got good distances. A 3/8th bullet weight and larger plastic flies. I could feel the baits rub up against grass and rocks. Wind and waves were battering my kayak, so I could not concentrate on the tactile nuances. Despite that, both my bites were subtle as heck. The second bass, I was kicking my pedals, and cursing, trying to position back near my target. (The tiniest grass patch in the middle of nowhere, I kept loosing track of). I was was not paying attention, but I felt the bait was “off”. I jam the hook home. The hookset on this rod is wild. It immediately gets into the rod and it feels good! Just bam! Very theatrical hook sets are possible. Haha. Fighting the fish is fun. The longer handle allows me to put it hard against my forearm and get to work. Fun rod! if I’m lucky I’ll play again tomorrow. But we have a major freeway closure in the middle of the SF Bay Area this weekend. Getting to the Delta is problematic.
  11. For the record. Free-rig failed me today. too much wind, waves. I should have tied on a heavier weight. went heavy TRig and saved myself the skunk. Buzzer beater!
  12. Japan Tackle was fast and very good communicators, but they will dink you some shipping costs. still way better than me walking into my local shop to buy it.
  13. I actually have that bait. No luck this far. But I got the white colored bait. Great. Now there gonna be rain. And some wind. Haha.
  14. i am going to let my hair down and rig up a Carolina Rig, just because. a heavier rig with a big worm..drag it thru the flats covered with dead grass.
  15. PopMax for sure. i can actually kinda walk the dog with that thing. casts like a bullet and it walks and spits coming back. but to be honest, i have taken more fish with the smaller one. pop-smaller. i cant remember the name
  16. i'm with Greenpig. nope. X2
  17. really? my best bud opened a company and blossomed it into something a big company really wanted. he sold it for some crazy amount. i have another good friend that always says, "dont worry about me, worry about yourself" (he is also loaded) seriously, i dont think about what people have or dont have at all anymore. waste of brain bandwidth. that is a loop that never ends. so dont start. happiness, love and health. (d**n, who kidnapped me, and what did they do with my body?)
  18. a few times. but it was always Senkos coming out of the gullet. a few bare hooks, i got out too. felt good.
  19. Sometimes I feel even a fart can turn off a bite around here.
  20. Indeed @slonezp I’m going. I’ll find them.
  21. @Woody B interesting story. I was pretty straight as a young person. My friends smoked and I watched it do weird things.
  22. My dad said to never compare myself, especially what I have or don’t have to anyone else. good advice or that dude that just brought back the new Pheonix bass boat, would be bumming me out. i don’t own a boat now, or probably ever. I don’t want one. Good luck OP. Hope you find the silver-bullet for happiness.
  23. Nooo! I kinda had the pattern figured out. My guess is they may go shallow, and ride the tule edges. I might need to bring a sweater. Our weather is kooky. Normally, I’d look for grass, but the locals herbicided everything. Just brown wisps of grass. I heard they chew when it cools due to the increased oxygen, but I’m just a regular joe-fisherman.
